I miss the old D1 faction system. Wanna rep dead orbit. Pledge to the faction. Then go do whatever you like. Strikes, Patrol, Crucible. Rank up and get a package.
Don't feel like doing that, cool we have armor and weapons for sale. Just buy it.
Want a specific roll on armor or guns, cool rank up and try to get the stuff you want.
As a bonus vanguard and crucible bounties give factions xp too.
Grind as much or as little as you want. It's all good.
We've got sweet class items if you can reach level 25.
Don't want to do any of that? Cool it's all optional, no pressure.
It was literally extra loot you could get while playing the game the way you like.
Bring it back bungie. The system would be perfect for the planetary vendors.

Know what was great in D1, all of it. But In their infinite wisdom they decided to leave everything we actually liked behind, I've no doubt though that they'll gradually drip feed it back too us, and expect us too be overjoyed and act like its new stuff, wise up people it's just old stuff returning nothing new, case in point The Last Word hand cannon.

From what I have read the community would rather have faction vendors be available all of the time rather than only during Faction Rallies events. I have seen some feedback about having vendors available all of the time but still having special Faction Rallies events on top of that as well. Let me know what you think.

This has always been near the top of my wish list from D1 to be done in D2. It was a far better system. Case in point, when was the last time factions were active with those stupid rallies anyway?

5 AntwortenThis is just my opinion. D1 had all the vendors right considering the direction the game took. It's not just factions, it's every single vendor in this game not being used as their intended purpose. More then half the vendors in this game are pointless and Amanda Holliday is no different than the sweeper bot. The vendors like the Gunsmith use to be useful having a full inventory. Now, he only has 2 mods? D1 it seems Bungie took what kept a gamers interest wanting to acquire the items and stuck it all in Tess inventory in D2, making the items in this game pointless to acquire that has no sense of value or incentive to want to acquire them being handed out like candy. IMO the devs need to actually go play D1 and see how the game was structured. Shader, ships, sparrows, ghost, ornaments all had a place in the game and throughout the events. I said this already on another thread but it is the truth. Just the shader in W.O.T.M gave gamers more of an incentive to want to acquire it then the entire system Bungie created for D2. Having most of the vendors in this game being only useful for bounties is not a good idea at all. Bungie needs to bring back the incentive D1 had.

Agreed. I liked the idea of leveling up not just crucible or vanguard, but also my faction and cryptarch. It was something that made me feel like I wasn't wasting my time.

I don't really care for it all that much but they really need to bring back the faction rallies. Update the Year 1 faction armor as well while they're at it.

What they should do is give you a bond to wear during the Faction wars. And it counts how many crucible/challenging events you do during the week or whatever it is while wearing it. Sorta like how masterwork weapons count how many kills you have. The score will go up One point for every five matches/events. 0-0 0-1 0-2 0-3 0-4 0-5 1-0 ~ect~ The points are counted at the end of the faction war, and boom. You have your winner.

I feel like Vendors from faction rallies should be permanent but have special events instead of the come once.

I really liked the D1 factions and always wished there were some stories/lore things to go with them, like maybe some adventures or what have you. I got much of my favourite gear from the factions in D1 and in D2Y1, too. I really hope they come back.

1 AntwortenThe factions have been handled poorly in this game and I cant understand why. When something works, there's no need to try to re-invent it. And what's worse, they are no where to be found for now the second season at all. Some of my favorite weapons and armor came from the factions in D1. I would like to have that back. We need more options for gear anyway.

I wish this time they’d add more stuff to leveling though. Back in d1, I had hit pretty damn close to level 100 with all the factions but it didn’t really give me anything besides the level 25 exotic class piece.

Worst descion because it was a short cut towards leaving up gear with little activity to do it with. At least with a tolerated week you have to grind for awhile you earn the fear. The reason is has never been brought back is because tokens have been cut from the game as the currency to grind and earn gear for. I still have 11 of each faction token sitting in my inventory that I wish I could trade for Luna howl or not forgotten. Yea I'm still one of those people who has a problem with competitive. Unfortunately all those post have been eclipsed by bungie and actvison splitting ways which is a bad move from a financial stand point.
