I dont consider myself bad, but average. Ive been a casual player for crucible for a long time. I remember year one, when the graviton lance was the only weapon that anybody ever used. Skill aside, i enjoyed this game because me and my friends both liked to play it. We were always a healthy mix of skilled, average, and subpar players who enjoyed the occasional win but, moreover, we enjoyed each others company. Then Bungie introduces the Lunas Howl.
The Lunas Howl is a hand cannon, of the highest fire rate in its class, which has the ability to end a gunfight in 3 shots, or potentially fewer, so long as its wielder has two working thumbs. This is when things started to go downhill. Instead of simply conversing, we turned to complaining. This gun, this crutch weapon, makes it impossible for the casual player to enjoy crucible due to it being incredibly effective and poisoning its victim with thought that he may never be skilled enough to obtain it. Therefore, none of us saw any point in playing. We knew the outcome of each match we played. It would always be the player with the LH who would end up at the top of the leaderboards and annihilate the rest of the lobby.
Some might say,"the LH has terrible range" and while this may be true, shotguns have even worse range and yet they are considered by many to be the most obnoxious weapons in crucible right now. This applies to the Lunas howl. Its range, while subpar, is compensated by its apparent lack of recoil and outstanding damage, which brings me to my next point.
The Lunas Howl breaks its frame. Any other precision hand cannon will kill another player in 4 headshots. Lunas Howl will always kill in three headshots. "Why does this matter so much? After all, we have perks like kill clip and rampage that buff damage for other weapons right?". This is also true, but these perks require the wielder to kill an enemy before activating it. For rampage, you kill an enemy to recieve a small damage buff that stacks with each kill you get. For kill clip, you must reload after a kill to receive a larger buff that is still, somehow, lesser than magnificent howl. For magnificent howl, you only need to land 2 headshots consecutively (which wouldnt be so bad if it didnt fire so fast) to recieve a damage buff that is literally 200% its normal damage. Magnificent howl does not have the same balance mechanics that rampage and kill clip have and its blantanly broken.
My friends and i dont play crucible together anymore. They moved on to other, better games, ones where the developers actually listen to this sort of feedback.
Face it Bungie, you -blam!-ed up. You gave steroids and cocaine to the people who can already run faster than everyone else, and now theres no point in playing for people who arent so skilled as those who have this weapon.
[b][i][u]Let it be known that citing my statistics, or simply saying "get good" will not change the reality of the way this weapon performs in crucible.
also, fix your matchmaking.
1 AntwortenEquip telesto, problem solved

1 AntwortenProblem is map layout.
-
It’s a reason I don’t generally bother with PvP now, I only do it for the power Engram then leave, I have no interest otherwise.
-
5 AntwortenUnless they're getting precision hits it's just another 180 hand cannon. Juke about, jump, strafe. Don't forget to change your loadout based upon which map you're on. For maps with long lines of sight I went with the jade rabbit and a year one sidearm for closer encounters. The rest I rocked blast furnace with the wavesplitter. I know it can suck if you love hand cannons but until you can get a Luna of your own, consider other weapons that can be efficient beyond Luna's range. Since the Sunshot was buffed it does well in PvP. If you get a kill with the Drang, the Sturm can two tap! People are focused on the Luna's Howl right now. It's frustrating to get bested by a gun you don't have. Believe me, it's no where near as broken in PvP as the Vex Mythoclast was pre-nerf D2.

2 AntwortenThe vendor bygones counters luna pretty easy. Yeah the first kill is 3 bursts which is pretty much the same as Luna then once kill clip is active it kills faster than luna with just 2 bursts to the head. Luna is strong but it's not broken.. besides these weapons like Lunas howl and Not forgotten are called pinnacle weapons for a reason. It wouldn't really make sense to have a pinnacle weapon that didnt in some way stand out above the rest. I personally have not forgotten and when I go back to use Luna I actually struggle with the range drop off. I also find myself going back to bygones and jade rabbit for those longer engagements or if I have trouble out ranging my opponents. You have to figure out how your opponent plays and adjust to counter it and not just expect the way you play to work every time. So Luna is killing you to much... play at a distance. I get killed by pulse rifles more than any luna or not forgotten.. maybe other classes of weapons need some love rather than just wrecking the ones that are good.

Buff Luna's Howl. The ttk is too long!
-
3 AntwortenLuna’s howl isn’t the problem. If people are winning with Luna’s, chances are they will win with any other weapon against you. If you’re a decent enough player, you can totally counter Luna’s.
-
3 AntwortenNo its not! Stop with the crying nerf post! Btw, I still dont have this gun, but I accept that people who go through the struggle deserve a strong gun!
-
I’m a console player without the LH (although I will hopefully get it this season). It is not ruining the game - I rarely get killed by it but when I do get killed by it I don’t care because it takes skill to get.
-
1 AntwortenUsing mouse/keyboard on the video game console is ruining the game. :/
-
7 AntwortenOther weapons counter it. It's the best hand cannon sure. I think the other ones could use a little love. Considering the grind it takes to get it I don't really mind someone having an exceptional Hand Cannon for their trouble.
-
I have used the thing and I must say it is rather easy to kill with. It basically makes all other hand cannons useless.

2 AntwortenBearbeitet von Super68: 12/30/2018 11:51:45 PMIt's not Luna's Howl, or any gun for that matter. It's the matchmaking. You simply should be playing against players in your "skill bracket" in order to give you a fighting chance to be efficient and succeed. The guns are NOT the problem. The lack of logical matchmaking is.

6 AntwortenWe were playing a team earlier in “quick play” and was having some success using my new bygones with our law and rempage. I kept killing one guy using it, so he went try hard and switched to a Luna I have clips for days of landing even first bursts and still coming out losing in most fun fights. I have one clip - even hitting him he still manages to out Dps me before firing the second burst fully. No trust or ace is doing that as quick. Luna IS a monster weapon. No matter what anyone says or “your stats this” or another potatoey potato” blah blah..... It really is breaking the 180 hand cannon archetype.
-
It’s singularly why I avoid Crucible. It’a a crutch and you can always guarantee it’s coming out if you’re beating someone. It’s not only boring that everyone uses it, it’s also depressing because they’re not wrong to do it. I have gained no motivation to go get it on my own because I will have to face millions in Comp to get mine at this point. It’s simply broken. Plain and simple.
-
6 Antwortenmalfeasance = meta. It competes against lunas very well and will beat it. Use it. If you still die, its cause you aren't hitting your shots and your strife game sucks. Or. . .bungies shitty connection issues and rigging matches can dick ya over. But its a damn good handcannon now.
-
6 AntwortenThe problem isn’t the weapon. It’s the lack of SBMM, and the fact that you shouldn’t be playing these people in the first place.
-
It’s more testament to the weakness and inconsistent nature of everything else. Especially non precision hand cannons.
-
I olay in console and it is fine there. Pc must be cancer instead.
-
1 AntwortenLet me say this to you bud, I have Luna’s and it’s my go-to gun when I want a win and I agree with you. It needs a complete overhaul. I’m mad that it’s all anyone ever uses and that it’s the only thing i feel like i can use. I just think they need to make a new archetype for the gun, like a 160 rpm Archetype. Not to fast so it’s impossible to beat but not to slow as to make the perk useless. I also think they should change the damage to arc, so people can counter it with a risk runner.
-
2 AntwortenIf bungie isn't going to do anything about them, they should at least get rid of the damn flinch they give. I could at least live with that. They're a plague to the crucible and completely stagnating an otherwise decent sandbox.
-
9 AntwortenJust got my luna last night. The struggle it takes to get as well as the skill necessary is shocking. Not everyone has a luna either. Me thinks someone is just tired if their favorite weapon underperforming. Why not introduce perks that give bonuses equivalent in power. Im not saying give an auto rifle magnificent howl..bungo needs more high tier perks. Why not have a perk that grants full auto after a kill on a pulse or scout? Why not give an auto rifle a perk that grants rediculous range, acuracy, stability and flinch resistence upon getting 3 precision hits?
-
5 AntwortenNonsense.
-
I agree with your assessment, I want more variety of weapons in crucible.
-
8 AntwortenYep, another potato crying about a gun when they will lose a fight regardless of the weapon used.
-
I’m just wondering why EVERY SINGLE TEAM that I play against in Iron Banner has 3 stack or 4 stack, with Lunas Howl and Not Forgottens. Me and the other randos win more than we lose... but Matchmaking is nuts. Either that, or there’s a whole lot of people Paying for those $800 carries 😂
