This game is for all ages.
Could be younger kids just having fun, could be the milestone that players have to do and can literally not care about a competitive style game mode, could be someone mentally challenged, handicapped, or someone just going for triumphs....
A plethora of possible answers.
You can continue the madness of playing a team mode solo.. or start building a team so that you can coordinate through communication and or dictate instructors per taking that leading roll.
I will never understand the madness that is solo players playing team based game modes.., AND complaining. There is literally no mechanic that will match you with players that play like you want. It will never never never ever happen. Stop trying to walk through a wall hoping that it will turn into a door... just stop.. and find the door.

So when a game makes a team it's not actually and those players are considered solo. Probably the smartest thing someone has never said for a reason.
It's actually dumb.
The game is poorly designed, and part of that is incentivizing players to play improperly. Don't delude yourself into thinking bungie isn't at fault here and blaming the players.

What do you change? The competing aspect in d2, Ie pvp scenarios, is not the bread and butter in this game. Pve is so matchmaking has a shallow pool. There is no game out there that matches a players style, just stats for some games, connections, or ranks... In a game mode like gambit, there is no match making that could come into play to match you as a player. The pool of players that actually care about the mode is way too shallow per where you play. Pve is the majority, said content MAKES players play the other aspects through quests, power drops, or bounties... they have to play. Going in solo, this is your pool... the solo pve players that could most likely not care about said game modes. I will 100% blame the player. Make some friends if you are playing a co-op/pvp game. It makes the whole experience so much better. You get your team that will not trigger you, it creates more scenarios of winning due to communicating, it is awesome to forget about anything and laugh and talk to friends. This also does save development issues and other negative effects in this game. I do not want it ruined because someone wants to play solo in a game that is designed to be community/team based. That’s like signing up to play football but telling your coach that you prefer to play solo... they will say, you’re in the wrong sport then and goodbye. Yes, technically you can try to, but you will not have a good or the best time. It is not a solo player game... it just allows you to play it solo.

The football analogy is dishonest, because it makes the solo player out to be the issue. That's not the case here, they are coming in to play like a team. Meanwhile the other players are not. It's not a cut and dry issue like you would try and force it to be. The game is a shared world shooter, Bungie statement. Remember that. The game is and has always been designed with drop in drop out co-op in mind. Meaning optional, meaning not necessary. It's again not a cut and dry issue. Bungie not facilitating their own design goal as much as possible is something to deride. Any game is better with friends, it's not special. It's also not the point, in fact it's ignoring it. Designing a game that is more clear on how to properly play isn't going to ruin your friendship play. A game that is more friendly to solo players isn't going to make people play less with one another. People are just going to play less because they near literally can't. If bungie actually cared about people coming together they would have better features in the game to facilitate that. They don't and it is because they don't know what they are doing and don't care. This issue being an example of that. But hey it's easier to blame the player and not the game.

Bearbeitet von Peter, Kell of Cottontail: 12/28/2018 3:27:03 PMThe you put all of this, is true. A social board in the tower could solve the issue... but once again, the players would have to take the steps to fill a team. You are taking the mentality of “I want and do play for the team”... then that means said scenario of a social board would be very helpful for players like you and like you stated, would be player friendly per bungie putting it in the game... But all of this does not negate the fact that a player playing team based games solo is the players issue. If you were doing patrols, strikes, and story solo and the game was very punishing to you, your point would be more valid... but “matchmaking” into a team based game mode is all on the solo player. You are lucky there are matchmaking scenarios in place because there really does not need to be. There is no written law. Just like the weapons, armor builds, and supers we can use to play better in the game... having a team is a part of that betterment in making the experience better.

The taking steps bit seems to suggest that players won't, and particularly solo players given the subject matter. Not all solo players fit this, and it is unfair to force them into that group. Some solo players simply refuse to use things outside of the game to make a team like myself. It's a standard in many other games, whether it amounted to good or not isn't the problem. It's just how games go and that's fine. So a board like you suggested, or literally anything would do wonders. Being on PC is fortunate as I have local chat. It's not the most helpful thing but it's something. I even keep my party open to all, but what good is that when bungie doesn't do anything to let players know and whatnot? It's just a strange thing for them to make multiplayer content and not helping people get together. That's step one in making sure your game fails, end of. Written law or not.
