Glory rank...
Glory rank is supposed to be a measure of skill, not a measure of matchmaking luck/lfg ability.
I hate to be this guy, but the matchmaking is actually bad.
Solos play 4 stacks, you will match against people double or half your glory rank, players leave all of the time.
Comp last season was fun, to a degree. This season it feels horrible for some reason, what changed?
EDIT:
a suggestion to fix solo queue comp-
Put solos together based on skill rather than glory as a form of psuedo LFG. Then match them against a team based on glory rank.
This way low skilled high glory players dont drag down high skill players of the same rank.
Skilled solo players will achieve plateau faster,
Unskilled solo players will not advance in rank through luck

30 AntwortenThe population is too low. If they were to implement actual MM the wait times would be long. The last time they had SBMM in QP i had to wait 7 to 9 mins at times just to find a match and im not even an elite player. Imagine the wait times for the actual elite players.

Haven’t played much this season, but the other night I witnessed matchmaking hit a new low: Doing some comp solo queue, I, at 150ish glory, matched a team where the highest guy was 4100, and the lowest was 2200. At least two of them already had the Mountaintop. On top of this, our team started with 3 guys vs their 4. And, of my two remaining teammates, the very highest was no more than 400 glory. Needless to say, I dipped. I don’t need to do a 3v4 against ultra sweaties just for their farming pleasure. Literally the worst matchmaking ever.

Its been pretty terrible for me as well. I can hardly force myself to play it right now. Maybe it will get better mid season.

I've played pvp games for years, love pvp. But for some reason I cant get into or take pvp in this game very serious. Kinda reminds me of those free to play first person shooter games, getting kills or getting killed is like meh.

Yeah the 4 stacks vs solos (every d*mn) time is a problem.

Options #1 Make Rumble Glory rank #2 Take away negative points, players would be way more interested if they weren’t going backwards on bad matchups. #3 Take away Fireteams (this would stop people being carried and elite teams from steamrolling solo players)

Well you’re right, but I don’t think anything changes the matchmaking was horrible last season as well, there were just less people with Luna’s/NF until the last month of last season. Now when you get matched against people 4000 glory higher they also have those weapons.

I think what has changed is the reasons to be in comp community reasons last season : Luna's howl community reason this season : none(only streamers care about the gernade launcher so they could create "content") Everyone that got their Luna see's how toxic the playlist is. Its pretty obvious that at about 3000 points that you cannot solo or duo to the not forgotten so why bother. The life commitment is too high for a video game gun, seriously bungie. With no reason to go into comp all that is comp this season are recoveries, carries and gatekeepers.

Lol, kinda true. I just got off a 126 valor win streak while running 6 stack for fun. Never ran into another 6 stack the whole time and the most we found was a 4 stack.

7 Antwortenyour matchmaking suggestion isn't bad but to explain once again why matchmaking is so bad is we are literally a week and a half into a new season, not that many people are playing comp and those that do are all thrown in together until people get to the glory they belong at and matchmaking starts making some sense.

5 AntwortenHere’s where Bungie is completely stooging players in “Competitive”. -> There is ABSOLUTELY ZERO competitive value in the “Competitive”(lol) format as a result of incredibly bad matchmaking and poor programing overall.

All I can say is that half the time, quickplay and banner are way more competitvly balanced then comp.

8 AntwortenThe problem is not who you match against, the problem is that sometimes games will start 3v4, 2v4, and sometimes 1v4

They should do what black ops 4 did have an occasional mercenary playlist or some other name it really doesn’t matter but the point is it’s solo que only so you don’t get stacked teams

So I solo queued come for a bit. 75% of the teams I beat were 4-stack vs 4 solo. We came across a team of DRB, and NF. All had an impressive amount of kills in crucible with them (3000+) We wiped the floor with them
