My theory on the nature of the light and darkness
Ok so what if let’s say the sword logic is a multiversal constant and the light and the darkness each reside in separate universes where they are the final perfect shape.
Basically the light and dark are fighting for control of all realities but with different strategies.
the darkness basically pushes people to kill then consumes them in the end for power so it basically knocks down all but one being.
The light has a different strategy it finds a species or civilization and try’s to boost them make them better and helps them expand across the universe and build and become great but in doing so they wipe out many others or build so much they cannot thrive anymore, but everything that civilization does goes to the light and empowers it.
The important part of this is the endgame
If the darkness wins nothing will remain but the darkness or its champion but if the light wins it will be a glorious world of light and goodness but this is built upon the death of all other species and civilizations but all that are left are so close to the light that their conquest is the lights.

My theory is that the traveler goes to different species and consumes their light. Leaving this empty shells of their former self. Hence where ever the traveler goes the darkness follows. Destiny 3 will be about the advanced civilization tracking down the traveler. We kill them to find out the traveler is the evil one. Fallen, hive, Cabal and humans will all mount one final attack before Rasputin sacrifices himself to destroy the traveler.

The hero---John Sheridan---has been lured to the homeworld ( Za'ha'dum) of the series' chief enemy race (The Shadows ). Lured there by the unexpected reappearance of his wife whom he'd thought had died earlier. The menacing little weasel in the corner with dark hear is a human that viewers already know is aligned with the Shadows. The more innocent looking older gentleman also is...but he job is to look innocent and harmless....because his needs to make a sales pitch. Sheridan has been able to forge a multi-species alliance against The Shadows....and they want to lure him away from it...and to get him to work with the Shadows and their goals. Or KILL him if he refuses ("If you go to Za'ha'dum you will die.") But he knows that he's walking into a trap and came prepared. The scene is iconic because Sheridan asks Justin the iconic question that defines The Shadow's chief adversary and whom with think are aligned with Good (The Vorlnos): "Who Are You?" (As opposed to The Shadows whose minions always ask "What do you Want?". Its iconic because if you ask a Vorlon "What do you want?" He'll either get angry...or not answer it. But Justin actually gives a very revealing answer....IF you understand WHAT it is the Shadows Want. TLDR: Justin is telling Sheridan that The Shadows (who he works for) are the FORCE OF CHANGE. They believe in evolution through conflict....chaos...and "creative destruction". Sword Logic is basically this same idea. That you force things to fight....the stronger destroys the weaker. The Universe is improved by the elimination of that which is weak....and the strong grows stronger though the conflict. In the Babylon 5 Uinverse, the Vorlons don't respresnet "Good"....but instead ORDER. They believe in the improvement of a species through Order, Discipline and Unity. Since these ideologies are utterly incompatible...the entire history of the galaxy that Humans and other "Younger Races" are aware of has been defined and manipulated by the conflict between The Shadows seeking to promote chaos, conflict and constant wars.....and The Vorlons trying to promote structure and order. In many ways the conflict between the Darkness and The Light in the Destiny Universe is very similar to that of The Vorlons and The Shadows in the Babylon 5 Universe. The Light clearly stands for Order, Creativity, and Evolution through variety. So that whatever is ideal emerges on its own. The Darkness clearly stands for Chaos, Creative Destruction (Sword Logic), and Evolution through conflict and the elimination of the weak. Like the Babylon 5 universe you have other races that are either willingly or unwittingly aligned with these to forces.....or are caught between the two. (We eventually come to realize that while Sheridan and the Babylon 5 crew are aligned with The Vorlons---at first...the official government of Earth is actually secretly aligned with The Shadows) What made the series interesting is that no long after the episode linked above....Sheridan learns about the true nature of the conflict (which both sides are keeping hidden)...and realizes that it isn't in anyone's interests that EITHER side "wins" out. I suspect we're in for a similar realization at some point about this conflct ("Too much of a good thing can make you sick. Balance can come down to a single grain of sand."....Mara Sov.)

2 AntwortenFirst off, I thank you for bringing in fresh topics. This toxic baby crying shit going on all over the forums is ruining my daily read. Second, I loved it! Great read. My response would be that simply light and dark could not exist without one another. It's an eternal battle that always creates a natural balance.

"Light" and "The Darkness" haven't been anything more 'Progress and Entropy', 'Good and Evil', 'Heroes and Villains' since the original story board team all left with Joe Staten. The Awoken get to sit in that morally grey area and out of the absolute Good Guys and Bad Guys schtick because they're basically the Tibetan Monk of Destiny's Lore. The Darkness wants to kill everyone, the Light wants to save whoever it can. I really do wish there were more to this but BUNGiE clearly doesn't have the Aptitude to create a story worth anything more than entry level shock value that they ultimately invalidate via something bland and predictable. I will warn you. If you thought the above was cynical and spiteful, prepare your -blam!- for the spoiler because I promise you, it's gonna trigger at least one person who can't handle objective criticism and distrust. [spoiler]Take Cayde's death. He dies because of his cocky personality and Uldren's capitalization of that character flaw. Uldren presumably kills him of his own accord and we get the set up for an actual story where players may feel some stirrings of an investment beyond "The bad guys are mean and did/are doing a bad" like the Crota/Orxy, SIVA and Ghaul 'story arcs'. And then we pick off all of these targets in an attempt to bait out the big bad and piss him off, which we do, so that we can kill him. And all this while his Dialogue paints him as a pitiful existence trying to scrape together a life for the people who we have 'unjustly' killed. He just wanted to live and make his 'father' happy. He paints us as indiscriminate murderers and for the first real time, we question what it means to be a guardian. Only to have all of that fall apart when we find out that Uldren didn't even kill Cayde because he wanted to, or 'for his own reasons'. We find out that all of this was masterminded by a giant ghostly butthole monster thing and Uldren just thought he was saving his sister. And then We and/or Petra Venj kill him because that's what Bungie made everyone want to do before we even had a notion of the actual situation. We could have been given a choice. We could have had the option to invest in the future of Uldren Sov and the questionable relationship guardians have with morality. Instead, BUNGiE just jumps the U.S.S Thought-Provoker and nopes the hell out. Thus, the revenge story is null and void, we (might) have killed a man who had no real control over what he was doing, considering the God-beast Ahamkara who has the power to reshape reality on a whim had it's butthole in his... butthole like some sort of butthole-ception puppet. GG. And now that Uldren is a guardian and we have gotten "The Crow" (Hedging all of my money on that being his new name since BUNGiE can't not pull from the original storyboard and be lazy by utilizing other former employee's hard spent work) who is going to struggle with a past he can't remember but the real feeling of his bond with his sister and be made to choose between Mara Sov and his life as Uldren or his new reconditioned mental prerogative of "AM GUARDIAN, PROTECTOR OF TRAVLER" of which, he will end up choosing the latter because Vanguard Dare and his brainwashed compulsions all while we deal with Ikora and Zavala being all of the buttmad that they have to get along with him.[/spoiler]

16 AntwortenBearbeitet von Shockwave 989: 12/6/2018 1:08:45 PMAs stated in my own post discussing the Darkness and Dredgen Yor, I discussed this 'Champion of the Darkness' concept. The Darkness will not have a champion at the very end, as, much like Oryx, the logical conclusion is that the champion will die and only the Darkness shall remain. As for the Traveler, currently working on that. It seems the Light only exists to counter the Darkness by advancing civilization by uniting the species and allowing them to advance their weaponry to defend themselves.
