Context: I just downloaded the new patch and only have the Base game. During a recent Crucible match I ranked up and got a piece of purple chest armor with 500 power, but it had a level cap of 43 so I couldn't use it. And since I only own the base game I wasn't going to be able to wear it. So I thought I'd try infusing it with my current one since infusion says "Consume a more powerful item of the same type to boost the Power level of this item". It seems it also changes the level cap so now I can't even wear the chest armor I had, even though it is still equipped it doesn't add to my power level. In fact it counts as zero so my power level dropped from 271 to 237. I had no other chest armor in my inventory so now things are dropping in the 240's and I'm stuck grinding back up to where I was at. And the only thing I'm grinding for is chest armor since all my other gear is still around 270. Is there anything I can do?
