On these boards there are a lot of complaints about the matchmaking for crucible. The Crucible team doesn’t communicate with the players anywhere here included.
A lot of players want improved matchmaking. Normally that includes either adding solo only versions of quickplay/comp and/or more strict skill based matchmaking in those game modes so players are actually playing against other at their own skill level.
I see opposition to those posts and the trendy reply is “I’m good but I want to play fun relaxed games with my friends and not have to try hard all the time”. That’s a lame excuse for wanting to pub stomp but fine.
What do you think about this suggestion??
I propose the creation of a new crucible playlist called “Social”
-Social would only have CBMM and no SBMM.
-Social would be 6v6 games using the Quickplay Game modes and map pool.
-Social games would have no loot except crucible tokens, rare gear, and legendaries from the crucible loot table.
-Social games would not count Glory or Valor.
-Social games count toward normal Bounty progress but not pinnacle weapon bounties.
There you go a place to play with your friends for fun with nothing on the line that isn’t quickplay.
I anticipate there will be push back claiming it would split the community. Don’t worry it won’t. It will just be the place that people go to unwind and have fun that so many players claim they want. Because there are rewards tied to quickplay and Iron Banner those aren’t the appropriate place for that. Social could be.

1 AntwortenI hate when my BM makes me bleed from my BH.

1 AntwortenYou already have 2 sbmm playlists, comp and banner, you cant have all of them sorry. Qp is for matching the world Comp is for close, competitive games Just like it works in other games.

1 AntwortenWhat's sbmm?

3 AntwortenBearbeitet von The Dripster: 11/28/2018 8:15:17 AMAs a player who plays very competitively I love this idea. I often find myself trying out new weapons and joining quick play match where I run into hate message galore because I pub stomped with my new Fate Cries or newly rolled Bygones. Sorry that I don’t have other places to improve on skill besides Private games but we know how that works so well. However SBMM is dumb and bad. Don’t believe me? Play Rumble It has it. A place of laggy players and try bards using exclusively the meta and well nothing else but meta. Never have I seen someone with a 1.23 KDA win a game by such a large margin by using the Telesto crutch.

12 AntwortenOr, you know, it might have been better to respond to the prevalent argument, which is that connections suffer with SBMM, therefore ruining the game anyways.
-
9 AntwortenOr you no skill whiners can -blam!- off into the no reward list if you're so keen on not getting better.

9 AntwortenSBMM DOES NOT WORK LIKE YOU THINK IT DOES!!! The creator of SBMM works for 343i now. His name is Josh Menke. He has multiple tweets describing what SBMM actually does and here are some of them - https://twitter.com/joshua_menke "Trueskill (SBMM) will simulate your average kill vs certain players, then pit you against them with players to either help or lower your overall kills as a team. The system is rewarding players at a 50% win ratio" "We can change the system but the players in social will complain" "My system does not put you against players of equal skill, it puts you with players you can match with based on connection and their past few games. As you play more the system finds you skill, and adds players to your team to help have a 50% win ratio vs the other team" In other words that system does NOT put you WITH people in a skill bracket. BUT put you with WORST players vs BETTER players than them. So here is an example - 4 kd .5 .5 .5 vs 2 kd 2 1.5 1.5 Now the system thinks - Hey that 4 kd guy will average XX amount of kills vs a 2 (Should be a 2KD atleast)...Problem is it gave me .5's on my team to compensate and make my chances of winning literally none. .5's will not average .5's vs 2 KDs. They will get smashed and I will have to literally 1v4 this game and sweat so hard just to win. It wont happen. The .5's will quit and come to the forum to blame matchmaking, while I will come to forums yelling about SBMM.

Loosing is still a positive for valor, so I'm not sure of the value that this "social" playlist would bring. Quickplay is participation based, not performance based. Does a fireteam member quitting suck? sure, but it only costs me maybe another game or two to get to the next valor level. I have also been dropped into matches the last minute and gotten a quick 10 valor points so that easily makes up for the times someone has dropped out. If I am in a place to care that much, i've got 5 friends that could sweat it out with, but I don't play that way all the time. Honestly, I'd never play social, but if it would help people stop whining, I'm all for it.

I like it

Hmm no up vote?

Youve made a very interesting point that I havent thought of in a while. I giess cause its jsut expected at this point. The crucible team doesn't communicate with anyone. Ever. Its because they are immediately attacked. But it is strange that we never hear from them.

P2p!!! Enough said

1 AntwortenSo you want lagplay back

4 AntwortenBearbeitet von llK1LL3RD0GZll: 11/27/2018 3:59:06 PMPeople don't understand what fair is anymore. Having a fair game doesn't mean I put you up against people near your skill level. A fair game is giving each person the same amount of chance to succeed in a specific set of circumstances. Having mostly cbmm over Sbmm is more fair than mostly Sbmm over cbmm. If connections are wacky, you have bullets going through walls, delayed bullet and melee hit registration, and longer matchmaking times because it's searching all over the world to find a group of 6 that has equal skill to another group of 6. Sometimes it's quick, sometimes it's not. With cbmm, most of the time you will actually be able to play more clear. If someone kills you, it is because they are better than you. If you kill someone, you were better than them. I don't need some blueberry killing me consistently because their connection is trash and they are jumping all over the map which is what was happening vanilla D2. I'd rather know I died based on skill than someone's connection. Giving you a fair game Sbmm wise is basically saying we want everyone having the same result. Playing people only of your skill level should make everyone end up with a 1 kd most games. What kinda game is that? If someone happens to have a 1.3 KD most games then they move up a skill bracket and their kd ends up going down a little bit. A pure Sbmm means you should never have over a 2 of unless you got lucky. People don't play a game to go even every time. If pure Sbmm was in play, you'd see some Hella good matches with top 5%ers playing each other every match in just quickplay. The problem with Destiny's matchmaking is that they made a playlist (competitive) that gives out great guns that people can then take into quickplay making the skill gap even worse. Now you have really good players who can only obtain a gun playing bad players who are using worse weapons. The system is flawed in that manner. They should only be able to use that gun in that playlist. It's great to work towards rewards, but it ultimately made the skill gap even worse. When Sbmm was first taken out, yeah people complained but there were not specific weapons that no one could get that made an unfair playing field. Like call of duty or fortnite, the game would've evened out eventually and people would have started to get better because they were playing better competition more than they were before. There can be some sense of Sbmm to get you in a ball park or skill range, but to get people to play other people within a degree of your skill makes for an extremely sweaty and frustrating game that (like vanilla D1) will make more people quit than bring people in.

It’s like you guys argue if you should have peanuts in your shit or mildly salty peanuts. 😂

2 AntwortenWhy would anyone play this mode if there's no glory or valour?
-
15 AntwortenSo instead of changing the playlist to something horrible, make the playlist that isn't horrible 100% pointless? Great idea.
-
1 AntwortenBut with SBMM how will Gigz get his 73 kills?
-
I have filed a complaint with the fbi over the flagging campaigns in these comments. There is no logic behind it. People don't like this and don't think this way so its artifical in the way these posts are being down voted. If it was true we would see people like conner mcgregor beating up people with down syndrome live in UFC to the world. Oh wait that doesn't happen. If you're involved in this scam beware you may find yourself in legal trouble very shortly. Hillary lost, sessions is gone, no one is left to protect you.

3 AntwortenThis is completely unnecessary. The only problem with the current matchmaking system is when I’m in a 4 stack of 5500 glory in comp and we match a team of 4 randoms with an average of 250 glory. This problem is caused by population not the matchmaking system, segmenting the crucible population even more would actually make matters worse. This is why Bungie removed the ability to choose individual game modes and consolidated them into 2 main playlists.
-
7 AntwortenLet's just split up the small pools of players why don't we.
-
1 AntwortenI play solo q a lot. If you are tired of playing 6 stacks, just leave the matchmaking. If you are still getting pubstomped a lot even tho you are not playing fireteams, then its not the matchmaking that sucks, its you.
-
1 AntwortenWhile I don’t love the idea and could see it not working as intended in the end it’s also a compromise that I may be willing to try. I just feel like nobody would play in the social playlist except a percentage of the sweaty players lol.
-
6 Antwortennah, all we need is solo queue QP. You can't stand facing 6 stacks in quickplay? fair enough they have a huge advantage. But don't complain about facing high skilled solo's, they have no unfair advantage over anyone, people just need to deal with it and get better.
-
7 AntwortenI have a simpler one for you Matchmaking preferences. Why should I be denied progress in any way when I just want a casual match or a casual setting to work on quests? I'm just there for what I want, then I'm gone. Literally sat around for the rest of my rumble matches after using the podium finishes to skyrocket the fifth reset. Freaking threw overshields at people to try and make peace (didn't work). Even tho double nade launchers in comp is a death wish I think I'll make it work. just so I have to do less. I never frequent the crucible, but I want it to be as bearable as possible when I have to.
-
1 AntwortenActually a good suggestion, can't wait to hear all the complaints from crucible gods who want to earn pinnacle weapons from it though...
