If you’ve read the Marasenna and The Awoken of the Reef, then this shouldn’t be that new, but I found it really interesting so I’m gonna post it anyway.
So Mara finds out, I believe through the Oracle Engine, essentially what are the two fundamental truths of the universe, the bomb and the sword.
If you are familiar with the lore, specifically Hive lore, you probably know a bit about the sword logic. To put it simply, the sword logic is the idea that you gain power by killing. The physical blade acts as a bridge between killer and victim, binding them together and allowing the killer to extract their victims power. It’s also a path to godhood, you kill everything and then the only things left, including yourself, are immortal. The sword logic is a simple idea, and it’s reward are also simple. Something that Byf noticed is that the Darkness, the main proponent of the sword logic is embodied by pyramid ships, which are mathematically extremely simple shapes. Using that segway, the bomb logic, which is associated with the Light, is much more complicated, and the Traveller embodies this as a sphere, mathematically the most complicated shape. The bomb logic is also a path to godhood, but one that involves planning and paths, not just simple killing. Unlike a sword, which is just a simple edge, a bomb involves multiple parts that must work properly and each part might not look like a part until the bomb is assembled. Essentially, the bomb is a plan with components that must be executed perfectly and you may not realise that what you are doing is part of the plan.
This applies to Destiny in that Mara’s actions in TTK were literally all part of a plan. Us killing Oryx was part of that and we didnt realise until much later. She needed to die in order to infiltrate Oryx’s throne world. The analogy she uses is “getting into the vault by pretending to be treasure and then breaking out when the
owner is killed”.
Point is, the Destiny universe is a violent one.

I expected this to be a parody of "The spider and the fly" and I'm not dissapointed.

1 AntwortenYou explained this better than she does imo. I read it and didn't really get what she was saying, but it makes sense now. It fits in with agents of the Deep coming by power faster through killing while Agents of the Light work harder to be stronger. Not too different from us tbh

So pretty much the sword logic says that if you kill everything you become a god if there is no one left.

3 AntwortenThere is a 3rd.

1 AntwortenDude this is wicked and so good to know. Thank you, you put it beautifully.

13 AntwortenHow is a sphere the most complex shape? All spheres are defined by one parameter, their radius.

16 AntwortenAlmost as much as 40k

3 AntwortenI am afflicted by tedious repetition

Looking forward to when the pyramid ships are something completely different
