Look, I get that you want to get things done, but is that really an excuse to exclude and be a d*ck to the less experienced people who are trying to do the raid also?
After going over a month of no online play because of a hurricane, I finally managed to get back and play again. I wanted to play Last Wish and finally get through the raid, but every time I explained my situation, I was immediately shut down. I attempted joining at least 20 groups, all essentially telling me the same thing: “We don’t want inexperienced players, go bother someone else.” The only somewhat nice response was “We’ll let you join, but we will have to kick you out once we find someone more experienced.” (I’m not joking, that was the exact response I got from someone).
And I know what you’re going to say, “Make your own group and stop complaining.” This is where I kindly tell you to shove it.
You don’t think I tried that? It’s the same thing no matter what. I try joining a group, they want experienced players. I try making a group, they still want experienced players.
TL;DR: It doesn’t hurt to help out some people and teach them how to do a raid. Guides on YouTube don’t cover everything, and some things are better learned with hands on experience. Plus you aren’t always going to find someone with 100+ completions. So quit being a d*ck and just help people.
Edit:
Just clearing some things up.
1). I am not saying everyone who completed a raid is an elitist and a d*ck.
2). Look, maybe I did rub off the wrong way, but what I said is what I think. The elitism needs to stop. It really doesn’t hurt to take a couple minutes before each encounter starts to give a quick rundown of what is going to happen. Like I said, a video doesn’t explain an encounter as well as hands on experience.
3). To the people saying that they are constantly finding helpful groups and all that: What’s your secret? How are you this lucky? I just have really bad luck with this kind of thing then.

1 AntwortenWill your clan not teach you the raid or are they the elitist you are referring to?

I fully appreciate your frustration and unfortunately this happens in most games featuring such end-game content. Keyboard warrior syndrome. Many gamers are socially challenged and their arrogance gets the better of them. They very easily forget how they themselves got to where they are. I'm nearing that point where I need to team up for content, and I won't waste time with randoms. I've gone straight to LFClan. Don't have time for AHs. I simply recommend you do the same. You simply cannot guarantee a good time in all random situations. Even if you become elite yourself, you'll get frustrated with others who display that attitude you try so hard to discourage. We feel you. At least I do.

It's a really sucky situation. There's nothing wrong with wanting a quick, solid run, but it's the sheer amount of people who won't accept anything but semi-speedruns that make it absolute cancer. Part of it is just the kind of people the raid attracts with its numerous mechanics and the grindy playstyle even outside of the raid, but it's still not completely because of the raid either; from my understanding, there's room for someone to carry less than their weight. It's also due to the unusually low number of sherpas or just people experienced in raid helps who are still practicing. Also, if you invite someone to your raid team, only to kick them when someone else shows up, you're a terrible person.

Bearbeitet von D2_Dahaka_PAL: 11/21/2018 8:56:10 PMAlot of the problem is people wanting to learn to raid late, are either under-prepared or under-leveled. At the very least new people wanting to raid now should make sure they’re at the mimimum light level of the final encounter, have an adequate loadout and watch a video or two beforehand to make explaining things easier for the guide/sherpa. It’s not always because people are elitist, it’s just they’ve put the work in early, have become experienced and don’t want to spend hours doing the raid when they’ve already been through it. I’ve spent countless hours in D1 helping out with raids that should have been over quickly, because the new people were under-prepared/leveled. Alot of people got burnt out on that long ago, best to look specifically for people willing to sherpa. EDIT: I should mention this attitude is largely a product of Bungie’s raid design in D2 where it’s not as feasible carrying people like it was in D1.

4 AntwortenJust make a post titled "New Player, looking for a Raid Guide." It's easy.
-
Just message someone if they would be willing to help you out before you join. I've done it for every raid in D2

4 AntwortenI’ll give you the same response I gave everyone else Once you reach more than 5 runs, (currently at 18), it becomes hella tedious to teach people. It’s much more enjoyable to get a 30-60 minute run in than teach someone without thumbs how to shoot a knight for 4 hours. Thanks

2 AntwortenWhere exactly do you find these people? I always allow learners, since you have to learn what to do somewhere. If you’re on pc I’ll teach you

Guided games Or join a clan that has experienced raiders?

Some friendly advice work through your current clan to Raid if they won't help find a new Clan. Never played on the Ps4 but the Xbox community has the same issues, now myself my experience has been finding players that don't want to play within the group. There are people out there that will teach and not be an ass about it but YOU need to find them.

Welcome to the shit club Every time I write post pointing out a problem with the game, crucible or gambit I get hundreds of replies telling me to "git gud" or directly going to my stat pages at d2 tracker telling me that my Kd is 1 so I am not allowed to talk about problems This community is full of nice people .. but full of losers too who do nothing useful in their lives exept spending aggressive amounts of time on a certain game then go "elite" about it

Honestly.... Join a clan. I went a good 6 months in D1 solo.... and I mean solo, no help even from the web, finally googled I think one of the Exotic Quest and from there factions and clans. I've been in a couple so don't settle for the first one... you can search by age, hardcore or laid back, PVE or PVP .

3 AntwortenBearbeitet von Justin_Giver: 11/21/2018 6:48:07 PMHere is my issue with posts similar to this. I took the time to get a team together and we learned the raid over several hours and days and attempts. We worked out how to defeat it together. Then you have all these players who want to follow and have someone else do the difficult thing of learning and doing so that they can come in later for quick and easier completions. Then when they don't get invited because they don't have clears and experience they complain about people excluding them. Quite frankly, they excluded themselves by not putting the effort into the raid in the first place. The commonality between everyone is they want quick raids. The noob wants the experienced raider because they don't want to have to slog through the fails and the wipes.. the experienced doesn't want to go back to several hours or raiding, explaining etc.. The solution, if you want to raid, do it. Learn it, create a team and get it done. If you have no experience, get some by inviting all the other raiders like yourself and get out there and raid. I am not saying that some won't teach you or that I don't enjoy doing that sometimes, but, to be expected by the community to spend my time and effort to continually give them the success they refuse to put more than a minimal effort into is pathetic. Elite just means exceptionally good. Is Sydney Crosby and elite hockey player, is Ronaldo and elite football player, Tom Brady and elite QB, Lebron James an elite basketball player.. hell yes.. and do the get crap for not going out and just playing with anyone.. nope, they put in the time to be the very best at what they do. Many Raiders are tired of being wrongly labelled for simply putting in the time and effort and then blamed by those who didn't..

1 AntwortenIn destiny I used to be on raiding during the weekends even though I had max light and all the loot. I have not finished any of the d2 raids Too many "Dragon's Lair" timing mechanics to be fun. Yes, destiny had some but most were not a team wipe.

Bearbeitet von dXb_Bad_Wolf_dXb: 11/21/2018 6:52:03 PMHave you found a group yet? Or clan is working towards raid-ready, and training. We have many with clears in all raids. As long as you are competent, and ready to learn, we can try to make a group.
-
Honestly if you're still having the same problems when you make your own group then you're probably setting it wrong. With my experience if you say it's for newer people then you shouldn't really have a problem with people joining and causing problems. Plus that means you're in charge of the group and if someone wants to be problematic you have them leave.
-
This is why we do raids early on. The first time you never finish. But each time you get farther and on 3rd or so you finish.

1 AntwortenI did the Last Wish Raid once. I used to do the other Raids all the time, but this one? Im not wasting my time to try finding a team anymore.
-
Look for low light people they are usually kinder
-
I've had good luck doing Last Wish with my clan -- it's one of those mega-groups consisting of 25+ sub-clans that communicate using Discord, so it's safe to say that finding other like-minded raiders without inflated ego's is quite easy :D Same goes for PVP, NF's, and other "semi" organized group activities. Discord is your friend, especially if you play on PC.

5 AntwortenI quit puzzle jumping in this game awhile back... . . . Sorry I meant raiding...
-
To answer your third edit point, just go on the fire team finder and rather than picking a team that lists experience as a requirement pick one that says 580+, new players welcome, teaching, etc. I see them all the time. Also you can post your own that says LW, need sherpas and you will get people joining you who plan to teach you the mechanics. Easy.
