I hate the elitism with the Raids
Look, I get that you want to get things done, but is that really an excuse to exclude and be a d*ck to the less experienced people who are trying to do the raid also?
After going over a month of no online play because of a hurricane, I finally managed to get back and play again. I wanted to play Last Wish and finally get through the raid, but every time I explained my situation, I was immediately shut down. I attempted joining at least 20 groups, all essentially telling me the same thing: “We don’t want inexperienced players, go bother someone else.” The only somewhat nice response was “We’ll let you join, but we will have to kick you out once we find someone more experienced.” (I’m not joking, that was the exact response I got from someone).
And I know what you’re going to say, “Make your own group and stop complaining.” This is where I kindly tell you to shove it.
You don’t think I tried that? It’s the same thing no matter what. I try joining a group, they want experienced players. I try making a group, they still want experienced players.
TL;DR: It doesn’t hurt to help out some people and teach them how to do a raid. Guides on YouTube don’t cover everything, and some things are better learned with hands on experience. Plus you aren’t always going to find someone with 100+ completions. So quit being a d*ck and just help people.

Just clearing some things up.
1). I am not saying everyone who completed a raid is an elitist and a d*ck.
2). Look, maybe I did rub off the wrong way, but what I said is what I think. The elitism needs to stop. It really doesn’t hurt to take a couple minutes before each encounter starts to give a quick rundown of what is going to happen. Like I said, a video doesn’t explain an encounter as well as hands on experience.
3). To the people saying that they are constantly finding helpful groups and all that: What’s your secret? How are you this lucky? I just have really bad luck with this kind of thing then.

7 AntwortenI'm going to start this post off by saying, "I'm sorry your having a hard time find raid groups". However by creating this post all it does is come off like your complaining because people won't give up their free time to help you when not everyone is in a position to be doing that or has the time to sit and explain each encounter. That's not including all the failed attempts after that where you may misjudge something or forget a step causing the whole group to wipe. You say you join groups and they don't want you in them because you haven't done the raid, it is unfortunately their group and they can choose how they want to spend their time. 99% of the time I doubt it is elitism that is the deciding factor but that people just can't afford to use what time they may have doing a raid taking someone through when they may only have a couple of hours to get it done. And some just might not feel comfortable teaching someone. As alot of people have said on here, there are groups out there that will help new people through the raid (myself included with my clan - on ps4). We have taken around 5 people so far through the raid. Which isn't alot but when we have the time we are helping people through LFG or guided games. But when we don't have the time we do look for people who have done the raid before and can get through it with minimal explanation. Guided games is there for this very reason. It may take time to find a group but it is designed to help new people through the raid. And finally if you are having trouble making your own group you need to be alot more specific as to your requirements when creating the post. (e.g. "Fresh Last Wish run with new raider" or "Never done the raid but looking to run the Last Wish for the first time") Add that you have watched videos so know roughly what you are doing but haven't put it in to practice. Or even create a new post on the forum, not complaining but explaining your situation and that you are looking for a group of players of varying experience to complete the raid. You are more likely to get a much more positive response than what you have here. Unfortunately, nobody here owes you anything because you are having a hard time. But there are people that will help, you just have to keep looking. Good luck, I hope my advice helps you do find a group to complete it.

1 AntwortenIm a solo player and personally have no issues not being able to do certain activities, but I come on these forums to see other people slagging off solos saying its not meant to be a solo game, stop being a stupid -blam!-er, join others in a group and stop moaning. So now you have people moaning like stink about these group activities and about other players being dicks and elitist, when guess what, its a group activity game according to these people. Bungie have created this mess where you have to go elsewhere to create a fire team to play their game. Whether its easy to create a fire team or not, having to go elsewhere is the stupidest thing ever and how its not in the game is beyond belief.

Start your own raid then Haha simple. Just get in there and learn with others that dont know the raid. There are many helpful resources to guide you. Like YouTube. Your asking for people to hold your hand and when they say no then you come here and cry about it instead of getting it done.

Watch some videos boom you are experienced. Or you could create your own group and title it last wish fresh teaching... you will get a lot of people that don't know what they are doing and can tell them what the videos said to do.

Not this shit again. And yes I read your post. MAKE YOUR OWN -blam!-ING POST WITH YOUR OWN -blam!-ING REQUIREMENTS! People will join IF your requirements meet theirs. It’s as simple as that. If you can’t get a full group, try again in a few hours. Add all the people that did join and form a 6 man team. There are plenty of people who haven’t done the raid.

I was with a group the other day, we were completing the thunderstruck triumph. We managed to complete it with someone who had never done the raid before, and all arc is probably the most difficult of the three subclasses. Really, anyone who isnt willing to teach the raid because they feel people who havnt done it will slow them down can shove it. Even with someone who had never done it, and doing all arc, we did it in less than an hour. If you feel the need to require completions or kwtd, just learn how to teach the raid, it isnt that difficult and the community will be the better for it

4 Antworten1st: Nobody is obligated, AT ALL, to take ANYONE they don't want to through the raid. It's their fireteam, not yours. 2nd: It sounds like you just joined a bunch of groups asking for experienced players and then begged to stay despite being a LW virgin. 3rd: JOIN. A. CLAN. If they don't want to take you through the raid, you're in the wrong clan.

I have no idea with my luck I couldn’t find any team to help with eater of worlds when I never ran it before I was only able to do it thanks to a friend Though I was extremely lucky with a wrath of the machine hard team only 4 deaths in that run easiest run of wrath I had

6 AntwortenAlso..my advice to join elite pve groups. ***Lie*** No way to check your raid completions I believe and all you gotta do is just try to learn while you're in, or do it correctly the first time. It's how I use to do it when I felt like doing raids.

There are many on lfg who'll join a blind run to learn the raid. Do a few of those and you'll be on your way. Again another time investment. You could also pay one of those raid carry services $100 to teach you the raid. HTH

2 AntwortenI am happy to help new players only if they are competent and have watched/read guides to have a basic understanding on what to do, but if you are very low power and have NO clue on what to do I will not help you. If you make it easy for me, I will make it easy for you.

I did it for the first time a couple nights ago and said this was my first. My party was ultra cool and patient with me. We got all the way to the vault and it got too late but there are very cool gamers out there.

Nothing can be done about "elitism" in the game.. its always been there and always will be. There are people out there who are willing to help and show new players how to do things, though those people are very rare and hard to find. I honestly feel that people would be more willing to help new players if the stresser was removed. And when I say that, I mean revive tokens. Its just an added stresser to an already tough challenge, and should not be in a normal raid. I always felt that normal raids were meant to be more casual and a way to learn the raid leading up to hard modes. The revive tokens take away from the learning and add an un-needed stresser that forces team wipes for one person's mistakes. And this is why most people will not help new players, because new players who are less experienced are of course going to make mistakes, which slows things down, and causes team wipes due to the tokens if the revive isnt gotten.

Just do guided games, My group use to Sherpa all the time, because it was a extra challenge. Any “elitist “ that tells you experienced only, tells Me they are not that good themselves. Good raiders love the challenge, halfass skilled ones, want thinks easy.

The whole time, i was asking questions about encounters and mechanics, but 90% of the responses i got were "We'll handle it " or "Just kill adds and don't die" or "drop the well and dps". While i don't think the mechanics are that complicated individually, there are alot of individual parts that have to happen simultaneously in order for it to work. Timing is key. Its sad that the most experienced/best players are just farming the weapon with little interest in helping less experienced players learn the mechanics. While I absolutely appreciate the 2 carries and thanked the team over and over, one individual spent the entire time complaining about his 40+ runs without getting 1k voices, how atrocious Bungies RNG programming is and how he'd more than 'earned ' his trophy weapon. I play this game with the following facts in the back of my mind: 1. Everything is rng. Weapon drops, high level encounters and pvp matches are all rng. 2. ITS JUST A FKN VIDEO GAME. If you happiness/mental health rests squarely on an rng based weapon drop, its time to reevaluate your life. [spoiler]I didn't have the heart to tell the guy that it dropped for me on my second completion. I waited for everyone else to pick their chest, then ran to the "sacrifice glitch" chest and opened it. Bam.....1K Voices[/spoiler]

47 AntwortenThey get their ass beat in PvP then try to join PvP elitist like "oh I have raid gear, I'm sweaty, I promise" and we kick them out and laugh saying "don't waste our time, we wanna get things done" But I agree there really isn't a reason to kick nubs in pve... It's pve. Anyone can shoot a bot and you're kinda just being a dick for kicking a player trying to learn. Just tell them what to do, explain it once and thoroughly and complete the raid. Even my elite PvP player groups give nubs a chance by checking the last 10 kds on matches in case your like me with I think a 1.3? Even then we run with them and test them out. If they can keep up, congrats you're an elite. However pve really has no reason so we just laugh when they get this serious.
