Take a damn break.
No seriously, it works.
I took a break and returned and got Two-Tailed Fox from the Flashpoint reward.
My brother has done it multiple times and has gotten Wavesplitter and Queenbreakers in one day. He’s also gotten Trinity Ghoul and some others.
It doesn’t sound like it makes sense, but if you really think about it, it does...
I grinded my a** off in the first couple days of Forsaken-got nothing. Many others have been in the same boat as me. Then, people have been saying that their friends that barely play are getting new exotics (my friend got Shards of Galanor and only has one character at about 505 light.).
This is such a Bungie thing to do. Reward players who barely play so they are enticed to play more. And don’t reward grinders and players who play daily so they tell themselves “if I keep playing, I’ll eventually get one”.
Maybe I’m delusional, or maybe I’m right. All I know is I’m sittin here with my first forsaken exotic while others have none.
So take a break, and get some exotics.
Edit 1: Fixed spelling mistakes
Edit 2: Yayyy trending
Edit 3: I see many people asking how long a break you should take-when I got TT fox, I took a 3 day break. I played some GTA V with my brother and some battlefront 2.
My brother however took a week break and got wavesplitter and queenbreakers.
In conclusion, higher break, higher reward. If you don’t mind straying away from Destiny, then 1 week break is for you. If you like looking forward to your daily shooting shït in the face, then take a shorter break.
Edit 4: TOP OF TRENDING!!

2 AntwortenI pretty much get one forsaken exotic a week now (this week I got two). Do all Milestones ( literally) Do a raid. You’re bound to get 1 at the very least ( between a weapon or armor piece). Getting exotic engrams from killing enemies randomly is whats rare for me. I haven’t physically seen an engram on the ground in about a month now
-
1 AntwortenI have been saying this since the start of d2. They have a system in place that rewards you immediately on return. It's how they try to suck you back in so to speak.
-
I used to play maybe twice a week and would regularly get forsaken exotics. Got some more free time and nothing since I've been playing more. I would agree
-
The first Looter Shooter in history to reward players that don’t play, wow, what a piece of shit this game can be sometimes.
-
1 AntwortenLoot seed theory basically lol old RPG mith that new people and returning people get better rng by design to hook them into the games grind.
-
1 AntwortenEvery single time that I have taken a 2 day or more break I have gotten a new exotic almost as soon as I returned. Either I have god tier rng or something suspicious is going on.

Bearbeitet von D2_Dahaka_PAL: 11/18/2018 12:27:23 AMI’ve suspected something like this might be boing on. I hadn’t seen an exotic in weeks and after a few days break I’ve seen 4 new Forsaken exotics and 3 new catalysts. They just need to let Xur start selling this stuff randomly like he always has, are Bungo that desparate for players?
-
I shouldn't have to take a break from my game to get stuff. If this is true (which based on what I've seen I think your right) it needs to be patched ASAP
-
1 AntwortenThis is funny. I took a week break from the game. Never got a Forsaken exotic yet. Came back, did one Strike and got the Wavesplitter as a drop. Might be something to this idea. Although, this shouldn’t be the case. You shouldn’t have to arbitrarily stop playing to get rewards.
-
This is interesting because of the logic involved. It doesn’t make sense, but seems to apply.
-
2 AntwortenI do believe the game throttles your loot gains the more you consistently get loot. Taking a break kind of lets it cool down. So this does make sense. Bungie are known to place systems in the game like this without telling anyone.
-
This isnt new, was a thing in D1 as well, its the coding that trys to immerse you after not being around for while. Its like a toxic girlfriend tbh.
-
1 AntwortenOf course its a thing. Some Bungie code to work people. In our clan, the grinders hardly get crap except lots of duplicates of old stuff. The members who come on a play once or twice a week have everything forsaken has. It's bullshit. There is really only a couple i want but I would like to get the rest for the triumphs. But the way this all went down has made me not that interested in getting the season pass for a while, if ever.

4 AntwortenI’ve played what I consider a lot of D2 (time wasted on destiny says I’m in the top 6% for D2). I know people would have easily doubled my play time or more, but I’ve played a lot. My friend I play with now and then has played about 400 hours less than me and gets on less often. He has most of the Forsaken exotics. I’ve had 2 of the random world drop exotics drop for me. He also gets an exotic most times we play together. It’s getting incredibly frustrating than I’m pretty much done with the content and haven’t been able to have fun using these exotics. What’s the point of getting them now? To use on old content I’m now bored of?
-
1 AntwortenOr just farm gambit. Most of all my exotic drops have been from killing blocker’s.
-
Yup. I have seen this numerous times in the past. Ever grind and farm for something for weeks? Then take a 4 day break? Get your item with 10 minutes of gameplay?
-
I’ve been saying this years. It was the same in D1 or if that player just sucked ass they’d get exotics.
-
I've been fortunate to have the Two Tailed Fox, Queenbreaker, Titan chest and helmet, and Hunter gauntlets drop randomly for me. But one of my friends didn't play for 2 weeks and got the bow and Queenbreaker in the first couple of Gambit matches he ran.
-
If you play every day, THEY know you will be on, exotics or not. THEY dont need to give those players anything to draw them in. They play Trying to get the drops. Casuals need a draw, hence the drops they receive to draw them in. Its real folks.
-
1 AntwortenWell continually playing definitely doesn’t work!
-
2 AntwortenBungie has a hard on for throttling things.. its the main thing killing there game. Loyal players who play daily are being discouraged and turned off by the game because of this. Its stupid that some random smuck who doesnt play in weeks gets on and gets exotics, then dips out again.. and yet someone who plays daily doesnt get shit. Thats awesome, bunghole.
-
Yup I'm on a good break now. Finally 600 on my titan, tried to do the my hunter but just haven't the will power to do it all again. Hopefully in a few weeks when I load D2 back up I'll have an exotic drop if not I'll just wait for either a Faction Rally or Mayhem
-
2 AntwortenYea I was about to post up about this. I haven't received an exotic since I think the first week of forsaken. I've been grinding, more than I did on D1. I've only been playing 1 character and I've been focusing on PvP and Gambit though. I don't know if that has anything to do with it. I'm currently in the 570 range which is cool to me as I know everyone is ~600 but I have scaled back to a casual. I just started on my 2nd character and hope to get it to lvl 50, run through the story mission and then work on getting supers for each. Hopefully my RNG with the other characters is better than my hunter.
-
THIS DOES WORK!. I saw this somewhere here. Tried it and Bam! Played a day, took a day break, played and got a Exotic. Did this about three times of course at different intervals and weeks. I can only stop playing for so long, isn't good for my addiction
-
Bearbeitet von w3rdblader: 11/19/2018 2:26:16 PMthey say it's RNG, but I got an exotic on each of my characters this week after having not played the game for about a week. I've gotten more exotics in the last week without doing any challenges than I did from completing every single challenge at launch up until 2 weeks ago
-
Nope, it doesnt work. Its all in the mind and more importantly RNG. I play on all 3 platforms. Sometimes because its all three I can go for a week or a few days not playing on any given platform and it makes no difference. In fact I still havent gotten one forsaken exotic and only had 4 in total which have been all old stuff.
