Destiny 1 had Better Armor
I miss the basic halo like armored suit for the titan, I miss the scrappy space suit with the long silky/tattered cloaks for the hunter, I miss the holographic mystical bonds warlocks used to wear, I also missed the distinctive poses each class had based on gender (rather than a lame gender neutral pose).
Edit: I will also mention that Chroma glow stuff everyone surprisingly forgot about

Destiny 1 has better...pretty much everything tbh. Gunplay...yup! Raids...yup! PvP...a better type of turd! I could go on and on and on. D2..well we can mantle now, yay! Um...some new supers are nice to mess around with (but lacking the customisation I had come to expect from D1 skill trees).

3 AntwortenIn my opinion Destiny 1 was just better period. I couldn't say no to much of anything in D1, but I walked away from D2. They lost me and unless they do a major 180 back to the RPG roots the game kinda had I won't be back. If you like the looter/shooter feel more, cool. Glad you found more of what you were looking for, just don't shoot me down for having a different opinion.

I mean sure Titans are supposed to be tanks, but come on, with the crazy bulky armor Titan's had or have, do you really think it's logical for them to move that fast? The exception is the last wish armor on Titan, yes I know about those shoulder pads but the way that one was done was in a way that it doesn't look that bulky.

8 AntwortenD1 was better in every way. This D2 is just a low-effort cash grab disguised as a game. Only a fool would keep praising bungie & giving them money. They have failed & regressed in every way as a developer, terrible management firing anyone who had any talent or integrity left. It is time to shutdown their studio for good. Activision, do something right for once. We all know they disappointed you as well. Even you can’t ignore their sheer incompetence, despite the extensions and money you gave them.

I don’t want to run around in a dress all the time, I loved the tunic styles. The Titan armor though... oh my good lord please bring back the D1 armor, the armor in D2 is just ridiculous. Aside from the insane shoulder pads, the early game D2 armor with the unlaced boots and late game bubble style armor is just ridiculous. And seriously... shrink the damn shoulder pads.

The only armour I found remotely desirable in d2 was the wildwood set and the anti-extinction/vanguard re-skins of the same set. The shoulder pads were still a little over the top. Everything else looks like a collection of cobbled together junk or cringe worthy pointy toed medieval knight plate mail. Particularly the raid/raid lair stuff. Gross. The forsaken sets, including raid and dreaming city, could at best be described as bizzare. Iron banner - total crap. Scatterhorn had potential as fallen themed stuff, but no, just a really weird spherical junk suit. My titan is an eyesore, but the best I could do cobbling together the least ridiculous looking parts of each forsaken armour set. Bungie pllllleeeeeaaaassseee Just give us a simple, symmetrical, proportional set of modern looking full coverage heavy armour already. Copy an odst suit if you must, or boba fett, or some Japanese mech stuff. No blades, spikes, fringes, feathers, hoses, pipes, pointy toes, rivets, laces, animals heads, nozzles, horns, funny lumps or Medieval-styled-anything. Just please restrain yourselves and keep it simple. Simple is good. Add lights and chroma and holographic stuff if you must . D1 armour worked. 31 AntwortenDestiny 1 had better everything.. It’s not even close. They’re just now making changes to revert back to what we liked but it’s too late. The D2 raids are garbage. The burns and modifiers are garbage. The exotics are garbage. The armor is garbage. The shader system is garbage. Crucible is garbage. Having no real ward of dawn or self res is garbage. I could go on and on. You know it. Bungee knows it.

yea id have to agree with u, i was watchin some old d1 footage i recorded with the ps4 share feature and i was like damn my characters are lookin sexy. my d2 characters look pretty lackluster in comparison

In d2 a couple hours in and I end up getting some titan wildwood helmet that looks better than every titan helmet Ive ever seen.

Read this and you will have your answer. Seriously. It’s an article about realism vs stylized art design in video games. D1 used more of a generally realistic art design, while D2, especially everything up to Forsaken leaned heavily on Stylized design (think Fortnite, Overwatch). https://www.google.com/amp/s/80.lv/articles/realistic-vs-stylized-technique-overview/%3famp_markup=1 The number one thing I think they should do with Destiny is a complete reversal on this design philosophy. As you can see in the article, it’s not an issue with the ability of the artistic to do either style (she does realism amazingly), it seems that the shift in style had to be an overall direction shift from above. I can only guess they made the shift to make it easier to create more content, or possibly even the lack of detail means less computing power used and less lag for heavy enemy or guardian areas? Either way, it’s a miss for me. The style just doesn’t fit the serious story Destiny is trying to tell. I will say though, it does seem they might be moving back the other way with Forsaken. Here’s hoping!
