So I finally convinced my brother in law to buy destiny 2 forsaken. He has played as much as he can to level up and learn the game.
Excited for everything he has asked me to raid, play comp, nightfall, etc... I wasn't able to do these things with him too much because...well, life.
All of a sudden I realize that I dont see him on as much. When i spoke to him i asked why he wasn't on.
Looks like he was kicked from a few raid teams for not having a rocket with clusters bombs. Is this a thing? Haven't raided yet. Or not being experienced.
Received messages from random people telling him to not play crucible.
Now I was pretty surprised by this. I asked him why he was letting a few bad apples put him down. It's a game, who cares. I get "you suck" messages all the time. I just talk shit back and move on. Hell, I got one today! Lol!
What I was surprised at was how often he was getting them. Almost daily. For sucking, for doing too well, etc...
I've been playing since D1 beta and I never experienced this. I always thought we had a really cool community and of course there will always be a few bad seeds but wow.
Given my bro in law needs to get a backbone and stop being so sensitive. Lol! Sorry bro if you're reading this, I'm joking. But has anyone else noticed this lately?
Please dont get me wrong. I still think we have a really good community. Compared to some other games, cough COD cough. But dang bad seeds, give the guy a break and cut down the hate messages to like once or twice a week. And take him through the raid cause I dont have the time. I'm sure you can beat it minus one cluster bomb rocket.
Sorry for the novel!

People sure can be mean sometimes. Like come on he’s new. I personally try to help any new players to help them have the best experience possible.
-
If you thought this Community was toxic then you haven't experienced MW2 lobbies back in the day

Remember they changed matchmaking in crucible so it’s possible to get really lopsided teams- even worse 7 or 11 really good players with a negative k/d player thrown in. That player would most likely get hate mail for making his team lose. As far as getting kicked for not having cluster bomb rocket at Riven? I 100% guarantee he joined a Riven cheese post and had no clue what was going on- so yeah he got kicked. I hardly ever get messages from randoms. It’s 50/50 wether it’s a GG or someone trying to start something when I do.

Bearbeitet von TJ_Dot: 11/3/2018 2:35:55 AMI'm willing to bet that if competitive crucible never became a thing so many years ago, toxicity would far lower than what it is now. Thanks Trials, for being the ultimate killer to the crucible.

2 AntwortenBearbeitet von WulfPak666: 11/2/2018 10:57:10 PMI don't think we'll ever be as bad as CoD or LoL. I'd much rather handle a Destiny Dirtbag over a League of legends salt psycho or a CoD diaper dumper.

I love this game but it has by far one if the whiniest titty baby candy ass communities I have ever seen. Removing crucible from the game would improve the community 2000% over night.

1 AntwortenMy friends have this thing where if someone trash talks through messages we just invite them to the Xbox party. Did it to this kid one time and my friend went OFF on him the second he joined, friend demands a 1v1 and I’ve never heard someone say “I’m in the middle of a game” so scared in my life it was beautiful. Moral of the story: most of them are cowards anyways.

Bearbeitet von BarretOblivion: 11/2/2018 10:14:56 PMAnd see, this is why you patch out cheeses that require you to run a specific weapon. If you don't you turn around and hurt those that don't want to participate in the cheese and actually enjoy the raid experience. We need an in game LFG system and a commendation system that rewards players that actually go out of their way and help others. I do it all the gosh darn time but some of these high horse elitst are just arsholes that honestly, when you do sh** like this it should be bannable if it happens alot. There is a report feature in game called GRIEFING and that is griefing. You should not be griefing other people.

9 AntwortenI stopped doing raids after getting kicked all the time, to be honest when black Armory drops that may be the time I completely stop this game, so much bull crap and mean people no one helps you and for this game being a “ team” based game if your solo your screwed :( I really like this game but it’s becoming a losing battle

1 AntwortenThis community is by far one of the worst. Nothing but hateful, unemployed spoiled children.

Bearbeitet von gethyn007: 11/2/2018 5:07:30 PMIt’s best to set your PS4 to where you don’t receive messages from people who aren’t on your friends list, then ignore taunts and other unsportsmanlike conduct. As people have grown to do more and more of their social interaction online, they’ve become progressively more toxic. Multiplayer games also tend to facilitate elitism and bad behavior. Not surprising that quite a lot of gamers are also antisocial, unhappy, lonely, immature people without much of a life outside of gaming. Plus, activities such as raiding and especially the competitive aspect of pvp usually draws in and worsens the attitudes of these sorts of people. It’s just the nature of the beast. One can either become just as bad as they are, go solo and ignore them, or go through loads of trial and error to hopefully one day make friends that are nice and fun to play with and hang out with. PS: Personal opinion here, but I wouldn’t say your brother-in-law needs to grow a backbone. Good people shouldn’t be Ok with people who aren’t acting like good people. It’s normal to be put off by it and want to avoid it. Besides, last thing you probably want is for him to start thinking it’s perfectly Ok and normal to be just like them. There’s a big difference between being strong and just being a jerk.

Bearbeitet von Ratti: 11/2/2018 12:43:44 PMI've finally turned messages to Friends Only cause the toxic messages just piss me off. It's always after I beat people in the Crucible and they have a go at me for stupid shit like camping, lag-switching, hacking, etc. All things I never do in PvP. Literally had some kid have a whinge claiming that I had an infinite heavy ammo glitch when I killed him twice with it. Sometimes these are funny, but it just pisses me off now cause there is absolutely nothing I can do to convince them that they are wrong. The one thing that stops them messaging me is inviting them to a party. Most just get scared and stop chatting shit to me.
-
Yeah it’s dogshit, but the game is what you make it Play with friends or clan members and avoid the toxicity as much as you can, F the lame Fortnite losers and the long term trolls, the game is great, though engaging randoms is the literal worst.
-
Yes. Nothing but PvP crybabies and neckbeard elitists that have ruined PvE for normal players.
-
From D1? Most undoubtedly. From the start of D2? Not really. Destiny has become a large pile of salt these past few years. Very few actually help people just ‘cause or bear with a grind these days. Nothing like how I remember when I started out.
-
Truthfully no. I don’t play a lot of crucible or gambit but I do some matches per week (so I’m not good) and I think I’ve only ever gotten 1 message from a pvp shit talker. I do lfg all the time for raids and nightfalls and about 70% of the time you get solid groups and nice people. 15% you get the know it all douche and the other 15% you get the complete moron that thinks he has a right to be carried. So in terms of the pvp hate mail I’m guessing he’s exaggerating or he’s playing competitive maybe (cause if he’s making people lose it sets them back on their quest progress) but in terms of the raid 90% of lfg groups can only cheese riven and they can’t do it well. If he doesn’t have a cluster rocket have him put on tractor cannon and ideally banner shield but tractor alone is fine. But really if he can’t get a raid group he’s either just going for riven loot, under leveled, or not trying very hard to find a group.
-
Gotten messages from lots of people calling me names, telling me I suck or im a hacker depending on how good i did, I’ve even gotten death threats after stomping somebody in crucible.
-
Yes. It’s a constant fight between the casuals and the no-life players.
-
Yes and it will continue.

1 AntwortenTell him to look up “Knights of the Phoenix” if he’s on Xbox. It’s a big, stable clan full of guardians of all skill levels and led by passionate and caring leaders. Whether you need help in pvp or pve, you will get it there and make some great friends along the way.
-
I don't think I ever really experience toxicity unless I'm looking for it teabagging, emoting on a dead body ,ect. The only times I do when I'm not looking for it is in things like crucible when I'm 27 and 3 or dominating a certain player.

6 AntwortenHave you just met the species? Of course the community is toxic, just like every other community of humans since the dawn of civilization.

Bearbeitet von SolarCerberuS: 11/2/2018 2:24:20 AMPretty sure you can turn messaging off, I cant recall getting any for D2 as I do believe I have it all disabled. My young kids use my account for other games and don't need them exposed to any salty feral doucheknuckles crap

Bearbeitet von MARS (Adept): 11/2/2018 2:22:34 AMTurn messaging off except for friends. Join a clan to run raids with. Problem solved.
-
Kind of always been like that. The raid stuff happened like that all of the time in D1. If you didn't have a tracking rocket launcher for Crota, you'd be either refused or booted.
-
These forums are pretty bad, but I’ve met some good people playing D2.
