For me, Destiny has been a huge part of my life for the last 4 years. I met my current group of friends because of this game, and have had nothing but a blast playing through the content.
In year one of D2, I stuck it out when that same friend group all abandoned the game. I clocked maybe between 400-500 hours in year one.
Now that forsaken is out, and my clan is back, things have never been better in D2.
But... Something just doesnt feel right. Forsaken has definitely Taken the game in a better direction (pun intended,) but for whatever reason I still dont get that warm fuzzy feeling that D1 gave me.
Since I've hit a rough spot in my life, I've decided to take a break from Destiny finally after all of this time. Im still rooting for Bungie. I'm still curious to see what comes next. But I just cant go on right now.
The current content is better than a lot of what we've seen, but im tired of everything being so dull and dreary. The Taken are a fun enemy to fight, but literally all of the end game content is just black and white.
I want to visit vibrant alien worlds. The Dreaming City is amazing, but I'm tired of the taken in general. Im worried that with Savathun on the way, more and more content will be this dull black and white.
It just doesnt feel creative to me. It feels lazy and I know Bungie can do better. Ive [i]seen[/i] it.
I may be back in December to find out what this Black Armory is all about. But until then, I hope you all continue to enjoy this game.

You should see me trying to shoot taken thrall with an auto rifle. Its hilarious. Those little bastards teleporting around every bullet I shoot like Keanu Reeves sometimes... Nowadays if I see any they get either a grenade or a rocket to save my sanity. :)

Have you even seen the dreaming city?!? It’s literally the most vibrant and colorful masterful artwork I’ve ever seen in a video game thus far, in 4K it’s got so many crazy colors and textures it’s phenomenal, if you are bored of that already then your standards are set a bit high or you’re blazing thru areas without actually looking.

Probably one of the few who will agree with you. Your resignation is better than those I have seen previously. I know what you mean with the taken as well. Awesome enemies, but everything in regulation. The SIVA asthetic is my favorite.

I'm doing the same but don't feel the need to write a post about it, just wanna play something different, might pop on to D2 from time to time and play a bit but for now i want to finish a couple other games (and also i got the new Assassin's Creed today)

I hated the taken the very first time they appeared... in my opinion it is an easy way out to create a new enemy, just remove all their color and make their shadow white and make them spam abilities... I can't imagine how this got past the creative side of the qa process... I'd have thrown it back at whoever came up with it... but then again bungie doesn't care what I think...

I feel the same way about the the Taken. There's a brand new enemy faction! Real enemy? The Taken. I almost worry that the Taken are going to be the enemy of choice for most new content because they are so anomalous and can be the scapegoat for anything. And it's boring fighting them all the time.

I mean, nessus is probably the most colorful planet in the game. But i see what you mean, the colors in this game are almost... dead.

Personally, right now I like forsaken more than D1. I played from day 1, so don't tell me I haven't been there. Forsaken is just.... awesome.
