In my opinion the latest iteration of Iron Banner doesn't feel half as fun as the previous season. The level advantages feel too overkill imo. I would like to hear your opinions on this.

Light level advantage this early on in the game is terrible. It benefits the stale fart smelling, cheeto orange fingered, greasy haired pimple poppers that are otherwise hot garbage at PvP
-
I absolutely think level advantages should go away. I can not stand even playing iron banner this time. I have tried probably 3 times at max and only completed 2 games. Once you start losing it is all down hill. GET RID OF LIGHT LEVEL ADVANTAGE!!!
-
No it's absolute krap. Level advantages are way too steep. It takes me 4burst!! To the head with Redrix to kill a 560. He's 40 levels higher granted but come on??
-
As a solo player it feels pretty fun to me, admittedly i am 540ish power and probably not feeling the level advantages as severely as others. Been running chaperone and the new clever dragon playin mid to close, with way of a thousand cuts to clear out them flags.

If Bungo were smart enough to make the matches even, it would be a load better. Putting people at barely 500 against 530+ players is just asking people to become frustrated. When a super doesn't work correctly, and players walk away barely damaged, that's an issue. Creating a stack of damage level tiers would have been the perfect way to handle this. That way people can progress through each level and not end matches pissed off because they are good enough, but their damage cap is ineffective. With the setup as is, grenades don't work correctly, supers, and other class abilities seem somewhat useless. Example, titan goes missile, pegs a whole team, gets meleed while standing in aftershocks by a whole team. Doesn't sound super, does it? Why not? 520ish titan is matched up with people that are 560, or higher. It's incredibly frustrating to see people standing in class abilities and not being damaged. If class abilities don't work properly, what's the use?

3 AntwortenI'm fine with the idea of level advantages in general, but apparently damage output isn't on any power curve like it used to be - i'm only around 515 and get absolutely destroyed, and hardly do any damage in return. I just can't compete without getting my power level up. Matchmaking as usual just plain sucks ass. One sided matches, getting thrown into losing matches without any chance of comeback. Joining when everyone has supers and heavy is always a character building experience. I don't think I'll even complete any of the weekly bounties on any of my characters at the rate I'm going. Not a fun IB for me at all.

1 AntwortenFor me the biggest frustration is as a solo player being matched up time and time again against teams of 5 or 6 and being on a team full of randoms
-
That's because it's NOT fun. I'm not even low light and I think it sucks. I wonder how long it will take for Bungo to do something?????? What % of matches end in mercy???? This is the absolute WORST matchmaking in any game. Then to make it worse you get to deal with their crappy P2P global network topology. This game has so much potential, too bad it's wasted. I'm already seeing clan members and friends quitting D2 again.

My question , why am I being matched with higher light people I can barely damage ? Why is this fun ??
-
I have to agree. The level advantage only serves those that have bought the expansion, locking out those that haven't or are waiting to buy it. Those that haven't do not have much of a chance to rack up the necessary deeds to complete some of the bounties. I shouldn't have to melee someone 5 times or more to kill them yet they can hit me once and my guardian dies. Then there's all the matches that end by Mercy because of this level crap. There's level advantage and then there's you haven't bought our expansion so we'll give you access to this but everything will be stacked against you big time.

3 AntwortenMy Iron Banner experience: Steamroll a team, they get the mercy rule. Next game I'm on the team that gets steamrolled and mercied. Rinse and repeat. Occasionally get matched with a team of equal or near equal skill. It's a close game and we win or lose by less than 5 points.
-
2 AntwortenBungie needs to get rid of the Power Play Lock, its so annoying that the opposing team getts 3 points and we only get 1 point and then the match is over or we get mercied not to mention the respawn time is to long.
-
Just tired of the griefing and spawn killing... played twenty games and won five I think. Half of my deaths were less than one second spawn kills where I had no chance. A couple of really close losses but fun games... but overall the experience has been bad. I generally like crucible. I’m not amazing at it but usually can go at least 1.0-1.5 in most matches... last few IB matches have been awful. One was like .22 and I barely got to pull my trigger half the time. Just not fun.

1 AntwortenI really dislike the zone lock outs. Everything else I can deal with, I just think that was a bad design.
-
4 AntwortenYep, level advantages enabled was a mistake in my opinion. Were people even complaining about them being disabled?
-
7 AntwortenFrankly I don't care about level advantages in a PvP mode, they seem like they exist for 2 reasons: - Reward the people who have time to grind this game, by giving them a combat advantage against players who probably play less than they do. - Give sweaties and streamers a way to play with disadvantages as a way to show off skill. I don't see any other reason why this needs to be a thing, because all it does is lock people out of the game mode as time goes on. By the end of the season, people who play casually or only have a little time to play will be all but excluded because the power gap will just be too high. PvE game modes this is fine because there's no real time limit to powering up to do those, but IB will only come around 3-4 times, and what ol Saladin is peddling may only be for a season. I just don't think level advantages have a place in a player-competitive game mode. Just my opinion.

3 AntwortenIn four years of destiny. The is the WORST iron banner. Bar none. You can’t even level up. Shotties everywhere, and Lag. Oh my the lag.
-
1 Antwortenthis is hands down the worst IB to date THE END.
-
3 AntwortenNot enjoying this IB at all, seen the mercy rule more times this week than I have in the entirety of destiny. The matches have been so one sided. I like the light level advantage, but the difference in people's light level is too vast atm so it's been an absolute shit show. The lag has been worse than normal and the power play mechanic is beyond stupid imo.
-
Level power curve is way too steep, and matchmaking can’t match six stacks against six stacks instead of randoms. Overwatch does it, and bungie is in partnership with them, so how haven’t they learned from the example? Lmao Other than that IB doesn’t seem too bad.
-
It's way overkill since this is the highest light level grind we've ever had in a dlc. And its explicitly catered to people that do nothing except play games. So pushing through iron banner against a clan of 6 that are att 550 plus when your barely 530 is just not fun
-
2 AntwortenI hate the damage inconsistencies.
-
In my opinion it’s not the level advantage, it’s just the meta. Pulse rifles and titan skating shotguns are very boring and frustrating to play against every single game.
-
1 AntwortenNah I love it when my Nova Warp doesn't 1 shot enemies...
-
I’d be having more fun in Banner IF they wouldn’t yo-yo me from match to match. The team breakup mechanic is a complete joke and we’ve been waiting for the Banner gear to be D1 quality for over a year and although random rolls helps, this gear is still lackluster and too RNG heavy.
-
I'm 527, most people I come across are 20 above me. Shoulder charge doesn't one hit kill, not does grenade launcher, nor does my fusion rifle at times when it normally would. It's definitely tough when you're under levelled.
