idk how you did it... I’ve been playing Gambit for HOURS with only 1 kill... this step is awful, MAYBE if people would stop coming in with their supers but even then... I hate PVP, they need to make assist count, it’s too unpredictable to hinge a quest on this!

I used Trust with Dragonfly and Zen moment. I got Gambit done in 2 matches and crucible done in 3. The dragonfly was nice cause I always knew when I got the headshot kill ;). I never use Handcannons in PVP, more of an auto rifle guy so I thought it was gonna take forever.

Message an opponent from the other team asking for help. You'd be surprised how helpful people can be especially since everyone knows how much of a ballache it is. As an invader if anyone starts shooting me with a handcannon I stop and let them kill me.

Waking vigil from Dreaming City feels good if you don't have any of these other suggestions. Solid balanced and good for PvE and PvP. Got it from random drop during Public Event

I used crimson and beat the gambit step in 3 matches

Used Duke MK 44 and Trust - I'm awful with hand cannons but got it in 5 games (so 10 rounds). The Crucible part was easier though, oddly enough.

Yes, Sturm und Drang for the Gambit part is good option here, I did this part with them too... For the PVP headshot part, you can use also West of Sunfall 7 prophecy hand cannon which is a really good one as well.

Use 2 handcannons and be aware of where the invaders are .Forget about the gambit objectives and wait in the back of the maps until the enemies start invading .Weaken them with everything and finish off with both handcannons .You have 2 now use them wisely .It took me 4 gambit matches to get that step done with having 2 hand cannons .Just be selfish and avoid gambit tasks and wait for them to invade.

No don’t do this, this is what makes everyone else annoyed, play the obj, just be close to the 3 spawns, aka the middle, and play normally, deal with blockers, get the occasional 5 motes, then when he comes, try and get that last shot, shouldn’t take you long, only took me 2 games

Comet i get it makes other gamers annoyed but not everyone likes PVP style of play and it's only for a quest step ,selfish is key to get this done .The step i think requires you to be this way since if you concentrate on the objectives you sometimes get caught up and your team mates finish the invader or he kills you and vanishes .It is just a few gambit games ,stop moaning i am sure once enough gamers get this step done it will be gambit as usual .

Well just don’t completely ignore them, you get a warning when their portal is open, just wait for that, when it happens get ready

Agree but like i said it takes your mind off the step objective and then you have to leave what you are doing and the invaders know where you are already and you are sniped or fusioned before you know it .Rather be selfish to complete this step and focus entirely on the invaders for now and once done play gambit as usual.After all it is not going anywhere .

Oh and use Crimson pair with another high powered hand cannon .Use the secondary heavy hand cannon to weaken and finish off with crimson or visa versa.

It requires patience .Hand cannons are not pulse rifles and autos .Hand cannons require you to aim and time your shots .And if you want this step done ,i advise to get hand cannons or keep some blues ,it helps alot having 2 hand cannons and Crimson you can purchase if you have recieved it before .Just go to Collections and use your glimmer and legendary shards to buy it again .

I’m just NOT good against other players, never have been... I’ll seriously put 6 rounds in their head and barely do damage and get 1 shot killed... i’ve literally played gambit for 4 hours and only have 2 kills

I was stuck with only 2 for the longest time. I read somewhere to try the Drang and Sterm combo and it worked. I actually got 7 invader kills in one game with them and I was not even camping for the invader. I would just use Drang only until it the warning of an invader the I would go hunting for him. The Sterm would deal with him VERY quickly. Good luck guardian. If I can do it, literally anyone can. LOL
