And yet it's still not the same game. It's a new game that continues the story in a series. In other games that deal with loot. Games like borderlands, diablo ect. You didn't log into the sequal and have all the loot from previous games just sitting there waiting for you. Nope, the story was continued, but you started from scratch, because it was still a new game.

Your argument is mute and deaf as mine is to you. Thanks for keeping this thread relevant. Any returning exotics should be free for everyone not just me, meaning no hoops to jump through. This does not apply to new exotics. You can believe what you want and it will not affect my opinion of the game or how it should have been made. Further, games like borderlands and diablo have you playing completely different characters. So there would be no need to carry over gear from another game.

this thread is not really relavent. Fact is, just like the Mida, if you want it, you do the quest to get it. It doesn't matter if you had the Mida in Destiny or not. It's a year later after the Mida quest, and nothings changed other than you are here griping about a different weapon. There comes a time where you should realize how bungie handles things. One of them being nobody gets an exotic for free, because of anything to do with destiny 1. Destiny 2 is not destiny 1. Everybody has to get things the same way regardless if you played the previous game or not.

Or games like Dot.Hack or Xenosaga that were sequels/continuations that allowed the player keep their previously acquired gear.

Who made those games? I've been playing games a long time and never heard of those.
