They should have added another slot. THAT was the solution. Now, instead, we have snipers, shotguns, fusion rifles, and single shot grenade launchers taking up space in our energy slot. So to be clear.
If you previously liked to carry a couple of snipers, say 3, for varying activities. Now, you are going to have a mostly empty heavy slot, and 3 of your nine spaces, likely in the energy slot, taken up. Which means the variety of weapons you were carrying, actually got worse.
Why?
Because, the idiots asked for something without actually thinking about it, so they got the bare minimum.
"Special" weapons should have had their own slot. Snipers, Shotguns, Fusions, Single Shot Grenades. They should have used SPECIAL ammo. Primary weapons, kinetic and energy, should have remained the same. And power weapons, should have been made more powerful, and limited by adjusting ammo. Special weapons should have done the same damage as they did when they were heavy, and heavy should have been brought up to make it beastly.
So now, the Winter Wolf and Niflheim Frost share a slot with the Frigid Jackel. Awesome. One of the best PvE snipers means you can't use most of the best weapons in the game if you want to snipe.
How -blam!-ing stupid can you be? To think this is better?
Another half assed solution to a problem that was created by implementing a half assed solution in the first place.
The people on these boards are some of the most short sighted numbnuts I have ever seen.
**EDIT
Is a 4th slot optimal? No. It would, in fact, be annoying. But in order to actually give people the flexibility they wanted, without making heavy bricks drop like rain, they had to switch things up.
An even BETTER solution would have been to change the ammo types on Shotguns, Fusions, Snipers, and Single shots, LEAVE them in the power slot, because, well, they are power weapons and call it a day.

D1 load out ...was the best.

7 AntwortenThis post is bad and you should feel bad.

1 Antwortenheh personally we should be able to put any weapon into any slot.

1 AntwortenThe new system is awesome and your point is stupid.

I can agree with the headline. This new weapon system is nonsense. All they did was take shotguns, fusions, and snipers out of the heavy slot and put them in the primary or secondary according to the damage type. And now my primary shares ammo with my secondary in some cases....wtf, that’s dumb as sh*t. Who wants to run around with two, possibly three shotguns equipped??? Where’s the versatility in that. I don’t see how anyone could have asked for these changes. I prefer D1 system where I could have a primary energy weapon that ACTUALLY had a perk that gave you a slight edge in the raid or against a certain enemy type. Bungie is very unoriginal and I’m very sure they purposely release sh*t content with the same old mistakes so a year down the line they can charge people another $40-$70 for content and changes that should have been in the game year one. I played D1 faithfully until I got tired of grinding for weapons and gear that was ultimately the same. Put a New Monarchy shader and emblem on it and suddenly it’s brand new.... ummmm no! Gave D2 a chance but got fed up during the winter event where they basically locked most of the armor behind Eververse. I grinded the heck out of the daily missions and the most I got was a sword, shaders, ships, and sparrows. Got the class item about 5 times as well. These gaming companies are greedy nowadays. All they want is your money and put out cookie cutter content. Be nice to see one of’em get sued one day and actually lose. What a day that would be.

10 AntwortenBearbeitet von DadKev: 8/29/2018 1:47:24 PMI generally agree. I expected to be able to put specific weapons into more than one slot. For example, I could put a better devils into all three slots if I want. I didn't expect to have every weapon still tied to a single slot. This change was sold as making your loadout flexible. My primary loadout has been hand cannon, scout, fusion rifle (or more specifically better devils, manannan, telesto) and I can't do that anymore. So much for flexible.

You just use your energy weapon as your primary....and there are a shit-ton of really good energy ARs, PRs, and SRs. It took me a while to figure out WTF they were thinking in moving shotguns and snipers to the primary slot....but once I did it was the light-bulb went on, and I was pleased that they did it. The only people who are hampered by this new system are people who want to use a fusion rifle or a trace rifle. Only because there are no kinetic versions of these weapons and all the trace rifles are exotics.

1 AntwortenDown vote for giving crappy, unfun solution

4 AntwortenI could not disagree with you more. This system makes sense, what you propose is over complicated and clunky

15 AntwortenSorry we don't wanna use 2 primaries and forced to use 2 guns. Stop crying and got to cod or battlefield we don't want you.

3 AntwortenI feel that we are still way to ready to crucify over any changes that are being implemented. How long has it been since the update? How long till Forsaken? Bungie said that there will be a lot of changes to come and I feel that what we are complaining about is an incomplete system. Yes, I agree that it is a little limiting at the moment. A lot of people’s play styles are being pigeonholed and people are being forced to change and adept or be left behind. It can be very frustrating. But I still feel this is better than what I was using before. I used a handcannon, scout, and rockets. Because rockets are op and versatile. Now I have been fine tuning and trying out many different opportunities. Not letting myself get hung up on a specific gun I want to use but a play style I want to try out. I will be reserving judgement until I see the changes in their entirety. Just an opinion, not damning anyone else’s.

Yeah, so far for me it's garbage. Just another stupid solution for a bunch if whiners. Pretty much sums up the Destiny community since D1. One of the reasons why I quit it in the first place. This may be my exit from D2 as well.
-
3 AntwortenThis is coming from the guy that has not even been in a raid and just seems to do strikes and barely some crucible lol...yeah your opinion is totally wrong. Energy weapons and primary are two separate weapons. You can use so many weapon possibilites now its crazy and ur suggesting a 4th slot??!! for what lol you can literally run 3 snipers if you want 3 shotguns or whatever crazy combo u want and youre complaining? i cant trust someones opinion in this game when all they do is just strikes lol
-
4 AntwortenNope, this new system is indeed smart and well thought out, maybe your comprehension is lacking?

I brought this issue up as well: https://www.bungie.net/en/Forums/Post/248164394?sort=0&page=0 But I think the solution is to have three open weapon slots and allow players to choose which ones they want. Ammo drops and reserves is still dictated by Primary/Special/Heavy classification so I don't see how this couldn't work better than the system we have to allow players the freedom to run what they want.

1 AntwortenBearbeitet von Maklevelli: 8/30/2018 3:33:32 PMI thought a fourth slot was going to be the solution and it could have been tied to ⬜️ on ps4 whatever on Xbox and pc can do whatever. I now find energy weapons less useful but I feel more powerful. This is the most I’ve used shotties and fusions in D2. Was never a sniper user even in pve even in D1 but I like having the option and still carry a true heavy. I'm cool with the system but I see the limitations but over all I like it better. Being able to slide shotties fusions and snipers back to the heavy slot would have been a great system especially for pvp utility. I'm just waiting for heavy machine guns to return and everything else be darned
-
I still like the idea of getting rid of 3 slots all together and just have every weapon type have it's own slot. Plop your favorite weapon in, and then they all have their own ammo. The mission design, including multiplayer, determines the weapons used. A lot of the games design faults comes down to relying on the players ability and willingness to constantly go into their menu and switch things around. As well as designing around it. It's never going to work that way, and it's going to fail every time just as it's been doing. No one really wants to go into their menu for the sake of solving issues, and especially when it is as cumbersome as destiny's.
-
1 AntwortenYes, because the numbnuts on these boards are the ones who dictated what weapon will go where.... Maybe you should be more kind to the numbnuts on these boards, if they can do that, then they might get irritated and ban you from destiny for life.
-
8 AntwortenI think it feels fantastic now. Much more like D1.
-
hmmm a variety of energy weapons or Graviton Vigilance wing camping in the back team shooting. Its better now.
-
1 AntwortenDude, shut up. You are literally being the King of the "numb nuts" right now. This system is a vast improvement and will get better when y2 weapons roll out. Your entire post applies to you, you "short-sighted numb nut". Such a crying child. You should be embarrassed. I'm embarrassed FOR you.
-
3 AntwortenWe didn't need another weapon slot. I wouldn't touch the secondary primary and you wouldn't either.
-
I would hate to have to switch to get to a 4th weapon and it would take too much time. This was the best because you can still play vanilla D2 if you like it and D1 if you like that. You have options.
