Does anyone else find people on like lfg and here for raids that basically expect to be spoon fed the completion? Two raids in a row I did there was a random each time who had no idea what to do, hesitated to admit it and expected us to instruct them.
How do people like that even get on lfg and stuff?
I’m not one to kick first-timers who learn the raid beforehand, but ffs there are some first timers who might as well play blindfolded. At least watch a video on the raid first. It’s frustrating that newbies don’t even think to prepare themselves for a raid, and waste people’s time by not admitting it until we struggled to carry them halfway through already and burdening everyone else.
Bit of a rant, but how common is this? It’s just so irritating

1 AntwortenEarly this morning n when I say early it was 5 am est in ny, I had a guy with prestige raid armor on helping doing the normal calus raid and he couldn't even do gauntlet. We were all like who's account is he playing on. Lol. Saying he knows what to do and couldn't run or handle plates. After 7 wipes he was booted. If your not familiar with mechanics you should say so. It's understandable no1 is perfect. I said from early on I suck at dogs but will kill if you point me in the right direction bc I get lost I'm not really familiar with gardens to get where I need to be I get lost, leader pointed me where I needed to be and I killed my dog fast and assisted with 2 others. Bathes is my strong suit I can guide there easily. I told our Titan to destroy the lanterns with hammers and I'll clear adds defending every1 as strider, we 1 phased it. Host was like I suck at dogs but every where else I'm on point. I landed 2.5 million damage on calus and we killed him 1 phase with out even hitting the 4th plate. Whisper is a monster.

3 AntwortenBearbeitet von JKLCSM: 7/25/2018 2:37:30 AMI'd rather take first timer that has never watched a video into the raid than someone who has watched a video. I'd rather not be second guessed by someone who says... "But "insert youtuber" says to do this".

1 AntwortenFirst paragraph covers it. Too many kids don't speak up when you ask if anyone needs to know something. Crazy how there's always one person that doesn't know the most basic mechanic. I love the sound of my voice; I will walk people through the mechanics all day, but if I ask if you know the raid and you say you're good, then don't do dumb crap.

3 Antworten"Research", "watch a video", GTFOH, You Tube has ruined gaming

1 AntwortenWell it's a consequence that manifested itself by people who "are not obligated to help anyone" mentality...

3 AntwortenI get what your saying. I always specify my experience having only just beat EoW my first time this week I always messaged the group saying I haven't beaten it, but I have done the research and let them decide if they are willing to take a first timer. However I think its way more of a handholding thing to ask for anything above 10 clears on things like normal for any of the raids, with spire of stars maybe being the exception. I see these posts way more then I see newbs asking to be 100% blind carried. Hell even prestige leviathan asking for more then 10 clears is clearly a sign you need hand holding. I get the argument of "well we just want to get it done quickly." However this argument loses all validity considering your probably going to spend the time you theoretically save by asking for such ridiculous requirements looking for people who fit said requirements has you probably cut your pool of people in half. I guess I'm trying to say I understand not wanting to take first timers through, but come on some of these requirements I see are beyond ridiculous.

1 AntwortenIf I have the time I don’t mind teaching people the raid but if I’m looking for a fast run I check raid report on players
-
1 AntwortenProblem with this is everybody does it different so said person might have completed the raid, then joined you only to find you're running a different strat that they then have to learn.

1 AntwortenOR, and I know this is a crazy thought, we were all new at some point and had to learn the mechanics. Failure is a better teacher than any video.

3 AntwortenI remember when games actually offered ingame tutorials , instructions and objectives on screen why should anyone go watch youtube to find out what to do , that's just as stupid as going to a forum to substitute matchmaking

Errr #Friendgameis#Endgame 'I wanna hold your haaaaaand, I wanna hold your hand!'

7 Antworten
I’m not one to kick first-timers
Wait for it.....
If not, I just say sorry, watch a walkthrough on YouTube, you’ll save your next group heaps of time and effort. Then I ask them to leave or kick them.
Nice.

7 Antworten
there was a random each time who had no idea what to do, hesitated to admit it
It's almost like this community has fostered this behavior with its unnecessarily aggressive and unhelpful attitude.
expected us to instruct them.
Thinking.jpg

1 AntwortenI have no problem with a new player in a normal raid, I'll help explain it and everything, but I've had a couple that don't know and don't ant to know, they just want to clear it... I left at that point 🤷♂️

4 AntwortenYea it's annoying af when the post was for experienced/ cleared players and some noob lowkey ruins it but it's obvious someone doesn't know what they're doing
-
1 AntwortenWhenever i look for experienced people, i usually check their raid completions. I simply dont have the patience nor the time to guide another guy through it. I just want a quick run and then proceed to do something else. And if i dont check them and I notice that he doesnt know what to do, i kick him.

3 AntwortenIts alright if they're a fast learner, anything other than thay is just a pain. I'm guessing you had the later, can't blame how you feel. Elitism is pretty strong though, which can create an even worse situation than what you had.

1 AntwortenSo you'd be fine with them if they posted on the lfg and said they have zero knowledge of the raid? What if they truly just want the first time experience for themselves? Who are you to say that's not okay?
