It seems like every liberal politician keeps bringing up the issue of "LGBTQ" rights. So I asked myself; What exacally are these "rights" they push for? Surly the rights given by the constitution are also applied to those who identify as one of these LGBTQ groups. Feel free to discuss.

Now here is an interesting thing. One of my school friends i gay, i know someone else who is transgender and one of the my collegues is gay as well. In britain there is an event known a brighton pride where there are massive parades and floats representing the LGBTQ community. The 3 people who are part of that community hate the event. Why? Because no one cares about the main reason why that day was created and everyone sees it as an excuse to get absolutly drunk and treat it as a party. One of the people i spoke to also said why should there be a pride day now because in the UK LGBTQ is widely accepted so everyone should be proud of their sexuality. Obviously people are still scared about coming out but thats what the support groups are for, they are not going to be the type of people whp would celebrate it for 1 day and go back to hiding it.

If one of us were on a bad accident and in the ICU we wouldn't be allowed to visit in the hospital as it's 'immediate family only'

The same rights all of us want, I would figure, to live our lives, to be treated fairly for who we are and not what we do or believe, not to be despised because we are born a certain way, not to have to fear buying food prepared by another person who decides to "enhance" it, to love who we want to love without fear (except kids, no pedophiles are welcome), etc. I think that is what everyone wants, to one degree or another. We all forget that though and ignore the simplest rule of all, do unto others as you would have done unto you.

3 AntwortenThe rights in the constitution are not enough. It should be illegal to reject customers in stores based on their sexual orientation just like it is illegal to reject people based on their sex, race, and political orientation. It should also be legal for anyone to marry any adult that they want to. I don't care about your religious beliefs, this isn't a religious issue. Marriage is a piece of paper from the government, not the ceremony that goes with ut. The government provides benefits to married couples and maintains legal rights including inheritance and visitation rights in hospitals. It is prejudiced to give benefits to one group of adults and not the other based on their genders. Period. The government cannot be biased against law abiding citizens under any circumstance.

Why should anyone care. Nobody is special you -blam!-ing snowflakes.

2 AntwortenIdk man, everybody needs a reason to be special or yell at the world at this point. I could understand their push a few years ago, but gay marriage is legalized sooooo

2 AntwortenBearbeitet von shell: 7/11/2018 6:12:32 PMI don't know all the details, but in my state, gay couples are not allowed to adopt children. There is definitely still some work to be done concerning LGBT rights. Other than pure legal standing, it would be nice if there was less homophobia in the world.

3 Antworten¯\_(ツ)_/¯ don't know, probably stuff in the realm of making certain acts of discrimination illegal and whatnot. IDK, probably siding with the people in the various baking incident rather than the bakers.
I side with the bakers in most of these to some extent and I'm gay myself so...
