As one who prefers to play solo on both of my accounts, I sincerely appreciate the walls you place preventing solo players from reaching higher achievements. It must be a source of hilarity around the office seeing someone struggle for 3 hours on an impossible task. I really enjoy the opportunity to be such a source of mirth for all of you. I am sure it would be well worth it to open my wallet for the next dlc and continue entertaining at my cost.
Okay, seriously, it should be possible for a relatively decent solo player to be any heroic adventure in a reasonable amount of time. but I just spent 5 hours today on Hephaestus (Heroic) and never managed a completion. The final room goes on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on....did you quit reading yet. Now you know.

I know people will hate my opinion, but Destiny was (and will) always be announced and sold as a "shared world multiplayer game", not as a "singleplayer game". Just find a clan get rid of the "I have to play solo because I don't want to communicate with others" argument.

17 AntwortenYa know what this is about? Destiny is created in an office space with hundreds of employees who work collaboratively to create and maintain the game. The ridiculous assumption by Bungie that all people who play this game are, like their staff, no more than an arm's reach away from someone who will gladly join in and participate in any game related activity is pervasive. What they fail to realize or simply refuse to acknowledge is that most of us don't have that. We have jobs and family and obligations and aren't focused on this game for most of the day or week or year. Putting together a "fireteam" isn't easy, isn't often feasible. The waiting around in orbit while a group of six is assembled for a raid takes a long time which many of us don't have or perhaps we're just not social enough to wanna do it. So, solo players are pretty much locked out of a significant amount of the best loot as a result. It's a huge "F__K YOU!" from Bungie to people who like to fly solo in this game. For all of the reasons why I'm hesitant to pony up 80 bucks for the Forsaken expansion, this is by far the biggest and most looming. For four years of playing this game, Bungie has obstinately and stubbornly refused to treat solo players like me equitably and I've reached the point where I've had enough. After four years, any notion that I will ever become a "fireteam" player is long over. And yet Bungie in their hermetically sealed bubble continues to demand that I become one in order to get the best stuff available in this game. So, might be time to move on and find games which do value solo players. They'll get my money and loyalty instead.

2 Antworten"Sorry, bro. This game is for teams. If we targeted the solo guys, we would have to be more innovative and have loads of content. Playing with friends extends the life of the game with little or no effort from our dev team. It's easy money. So, get friends or get lost. Cheers. " -- Bungie

Yeah d2 raid matchmaking really sucks

Repeat this to yourself until it second nature: not everything needs to be doable by everyone all the time.

Bearbeitet von cc99999: 6/28/2018 4:29:19 PMyou know, that strike is not hard at all. It's not COD MW on Veteran hard... In truth. If you can rush/sneak to the objective and scan and then return to the middle of the room and rinse and repeat, you can do the quest without much problem at all. Bungie doesn't hate solo players, its just some players expect that a perpetually online game that is meant to be played in fire teams - should scale down to noob difficulty every time someone wants to go it alone. If you can't solo a heroic mission, well maybe you aren't up to heroic.

I went solo on that same heroic adventure first try, and it was easy, there is no problem here. Just git gud m8t.

Plays a multiplayer game and complains about being a solo player.. seems legit.

??? It’s a multiplayer mmo... solo players? Go buy doom or something.

If you can make a forum post you can make an lfg post. If you can go to bungie.net or use the app then you can join a clan. Wow then you're not solo and best part you can use this app or website to do the aforementioned things! Also that's not so hard that it should take you 5 hours solo. Unless you didn't prepare for the engagements properly. For example you wouldn't want to use say any sidearm or scout, any grenade launcher, or just something dumb like strum. You want to think about the best weapons/ subclass for the job.

1 AntwortenHonestly, it does not go on and on, you have to stay close to the data port and not run around. And before you say that it easy because I achieved max level, I was doing heroic adventures while being in the 350’s. Also the Bungie app has an LFG built into it, so post something and get help if the activity proves to be too much to handle solo. I may be in a clan but 98% of my playing time is solo.

If you did indeed spend 5 hours to not complete 1 single heroic adventure your doing something wrong I do all of mine solo grinding for huckleberry catalyst never takes more than maybe 15-20 mins

Are you on PlayStation? If so add me I'll help you out.

Play a different game? Destiny wasn’t designed to be a solo game; it’s like telling car manufacturers to stop making cars and make bikes instead just coz.

Man oh man I agree with that final room lol!!!!! I swear it’s too long!

Yea I think that they should allow all activities to reward incremental increases in power, similar to running the campaign with a slow increase but still continues reward any gameplay, it definitely discourages players input when you reach the max from everything but milestones, maybe make it so easier content only drops blues with a couple level increases upon completion but make legendary and desirable guns for higher end play like nf and the raid guns. This would at least remove the restrictive milestone structure allowing players to be rewarded for playing the game when they want and not just to complete a weekly redundant checklist, I find I hate public events now simply from being forced to do them for milestones. I also understand the players who do the high difficulty content and feel they deserve to be rewarded for that but wouldn't it be better to get unique weapons for your accomplishment and allow light progression be accomplished however you feel like playing at that time.

1 Antwortenyeah... Destiny is the first multiplayer game i've played that didn't have Matchmaking for all modes.
-
Locking a upgraded award behind challenges is a miss step given the fact it’s not 100% drop . It could take months of doing the raid before anyone gets said awards. And just like the pvp pinnacle weapon 80% won’t even try

1 AntwortenI mean the game is based around Fireteams, LFG is the way too go for most solo players, i was a Solo player all of D1 and it never held me back from doing anything. in most games like this there is only so far you can go solo, the rest of the content relys on other people, it really isnt unusual.

7 AntwortenOh my god; this game was advertised as Co-op, it's a Looter-Shooter, primarily PvE, I'm all for solo player promotion, but this is a Co-op game. the best stuff should require a team to complete. And by the by, 5 hours for one heroic adventure? Their difficult, not impossible.
-
LFG is a thing you know. And I know LFG is a bit iffy on who you get. I've had both great experiences and terrible ones, and everything in between. There's also these things called Clans, and so what you do is you find one and then you build relationships with people who are in it. Then you don't have to LFG and instead can do it with the same people. Bungie is not the problem. Your unwillingness to meet new people and branch out is the problem.
-
4 AntwortenThey don't care about this, they care about people who make them money and people who make money off of the game. Your YouTubers and streamers.

Just wait for something better, Anthem, Metal Gear solid and Fallout seems to be pretty good promises; one of the main reasons they don't fix the game is because they don't have a lot of competition in this hybrid genere, so when their player base flees once other options are available maybe they start listening

2 AntwortenI agree. I don’t see why all activities can’t be modified for solo adventures where you can obtain equal reward. I guess the logic at Bungie is to make friends who either have that game and dlc or are incentivized to get it and buy from this developer. It makes sense sadly. As a primary solo player I just resigned myself to playing activities and grinding the shit out of everything in the little time I have. So maybe Bungie’s plan is working by keeping me playing despite the fact that I’ll never attain the coveted weapons, armor and rank. But what they have also done is make me crave the next more considerate to skill game. I personally like attaining everything myself and feeling like I accomplished something. Sadly this game as great as it is can no longer be my one and only game that I wanted it to be. Hoping the new black ops will fix me up. Thanks for the post. Good to hear there are more of us out there.
