Something "Designed to kill" can potentially save your life. Or someone else's. Or stop a crime.
If guns exist for the sole purpose of murder, why do police have them?
Cars aren't designed for the sole purpose of running down pedestrians, but uh, they can.
Hell, cars are so dangerous they kill more people on [u]accident [/u], than "guns kill" on [u]purpose[/u].
But we don't have vehicle-phobes freaking out and jumping to the conclusion that because cars [u]can [/u] kill people, and because cars [u]do [/u] kill people, there's no legitimate reason to own a car.

Yes, guns are absolutely designed to kill. If they were not, they would not be used for that purpose. Very much like swords. Even police use guns for the reason that they are lethal and when faced with a lethal threat, people will generally comply. Here is the thing. You compared something that was designed to be a weapon with something else that can be utilized as a weapon. This is not a fair comparison as anything can be used as a weapon. Scissors, coffee pot, car, anything. However, this is a tertiary purpose at the very least. Whereas with a gun, killing is a primary purpose. That is the reason you do not see any “vehicle-phobes” running around. I don’t mean to undercut you. I am for gun rights for law abiding citizens and will support arguments that effectively protect those rights, but the “but cars kill more” argument does not do the pro gun side any favors because the vast majority of vehicular deaths were unintended.

4 AntwortenYou know ECCHO, why don't you do some research and instead of spreading this tripe, you talk about how back in the day, schools taught gun safety and people had guns in the gun rack back in the window of the truck, yet no one was shooting up schools. Why not talk about the different gun safety and shooter training courses you can take. Maybe post videos of those training courses and encourage anyone who owns or is wanting to own to take a course or 2. Why not talk about the joys of plinking, range shooting, clay pigeon shooting, etc. Why not, instead of being another mouthpiece in a world saturated with people spouting crap, do something positive, that is unless you are afraid people will find out you do not know as much about guns as you say you do.....

5 AntwortenGuns are designed to kill people and cars are designed for transportation. A gun is only useful because someone else might have one and it levels the playing field. A car is useful for lots of reasons. If guns disappeared off the face of the earth you’d probably be safer and less people would die prematurely.
