I just had the most toxic experience of my life, whilst trying to do escalation. I don't have many friends online at the same time and over the last two weeks have grinded my ass up to light 360 on all 3 characters and just spent about an hour or so waiting for a full 9 people to pop up so I could attempt escalation.
Alas people showed up and we were at 7 when I invited another friend.
Then I started getting messages asking me to leave, then tried tricking me into joining there fireteam so they could kick me. Beat the crap out of my guardian you know. The norm for toxic players.
They said light 360 was to low and I would die to much, but id attempted it when there were only four of us and hadn't died once I had a higher survivability than all of them and with darci out I was doing decent damage. Honestly its put me on edge.
Like I said my friends have all sorts of weird time jobs so I can't do I raid, well I can but due to my own personal issues I would much rather only talk with people I know, so you know escalation would have been perfect, no communication needed just straight forward grinding.
I know this doesn't happen very often but its disheartening to know that it even happens at all.
Any body else have any bad experiences similar? How do you deal with it?

1 AntwortenIt's too high of a light level, the forge in rise of iron was perfect but bungie even said It wasn't easy to find sense it was tucked away. So they made protocol more public, but then the summit happened and all the streamers demanded protocol be more difficult , now we're here, with an activity too high for people to wonder in and grind that requires a fireteam number that isn't allowed.

2 AntwortenBearbeitet von Pure: 5/20/2018 1:58:19 PMI dont agree with people being toxic, but they have the right to decline or kick you from the game. You do realise that at 360 light you literally do no damage to the wave 7 boss right? On the other hand a public space is a public space, you are free to stay there - as annoying as it may be, its up 2 you.

Not one single thing I stated broke the COC Not one single thing I stated insulted another gamer Not one single thing I stated was wrong about what I stated. Just because gamers point out the truth on the lack of effort this company has put into this game so things like this would't happen, it's childish for any mod (to remove or block a thread) because of the amount of likes it got. You mods my be able to hide threads but you can't hide things from the world wide open net...

I was on patrol yesterday and was asked to leave, politely. Something like « hey man, do you mind fast travelling out because we are trying to do group escalation with our clan « , so i left. If they were a-hls I might not have, but they asked politely so I did not think it was a problem or a big deal to simply fast travel to the same landing zone. In a few weeks will be able to 4-5 man it anyway so what’s the big deal , it will not even be an issue in a few weeks.

Bearbeitet von Cosmic Zaa: 5/20/2018 3:40:37 PMi beat it with a 354. If it bothers you that much, do what ive been doing since day 1 of Warmind. I use the find fireteam thing on the app. i post looking for 6 other players to join me. Then, i go to mars, find two randoms and message them this:
Wait! Please read: Could you set your fireteam to public? I have 7 friends who would like to join for Escalation Protocol. If you’d like to leave, please set one of us as leader before doig so too please
Then, once we have everybody partied up & loaded in, we knock it out. I’ve beaten Escalation Protocol with a team of 360s and 350s. I’ve beaten it with team of 370s and 360s. It’s possible. If somebody says you need to leave because of your level, they’re quite dumb and are looking at the wrong issue. If you can pull proper dps and are supportig your team (via. Rally Barricades, Tethers, Bubbles & Empowering Rifts.) then you are doing great. Your level is NOT the issue unless you are under 351. Communication and planning is the best key here.

2 AntwortenWhen I am running around in patrol I do not answer any invites as I am just looking to throw hammers(miss the original striker), grenades and shoot a lot of enemies. That is the easiest fix to this issue. Even though I am kind of sucky at the game I will play EP just to do the above. I haven't been past stage 2, and will probably never finish the whole thing but it doesn't really mean anything anyway. It is just a game and people lose sight of this.

Nobody is going to dictate what I can and can't do in a game especially a public event. I am hanging around EP just to complete the Sleeper simulant quest. I wouldn't get rattled by this situation. It's a known fact the Destiny community can be extremely toxic at times.

You just had the pleasure to meet with bungie’s typical low life, sorry I meant core players: unemployed losers that get trashed on every other game and rely on an army of likewise no lifers using numbers as an excuse for lack of skills to avoid realizing how trash they are. Their frustration, on the other side, is always funny. They’re the same that get slaughtered by 4 kids in trials and convince themselves that they were fighting try hards. The same ones that still can’t read dmg on their screens and think that light level will compensate their scrub-ness. I can’t get myself to play this [insert description], but if I was, I would tell you to come back to Destiny in 2/3 weeks, when all these great players will have nothing more to do than roaming around trying to get attention or be praised for their light level, then they will all be street walking around the tower or other social areas, like a Cannes prostitute 2 weeks after the festival.

Dude, that -blam!-ing sucks. So many assholes out there.
-
Don’t worry about these trolls man.
-
It´s a public event on a public area of the game, you don´t owe explanations to anyone. There is only one entity to blame in this situation: BUNGIE
-
Public Event, means, no f’tard groups... It is a public space and the only reason they behave like it is their private match is because you listen. Walk to your own tune.
-
Since you are asking how others deal with it, first I wouldn't make a post about it because it wouldn't even get to that point. I would block them then report them and continue to do whatever it is I intended on doing.
-
1 AntwortenI ignore them and block any users spamming posts at me. It’s a public space, they are entitled to nothing.
-
"Due to my personal issues"... That could have been your entire post

8 AntwortenAre you not just as toxic staying in when they need the spot?

Are u on Psn if so add me I would be happy to run them with u Psn Vass_sCo

While I haven't had any of that sort of toxicity in my experience, I as well as many others, feel that as cool as Escalation Protocol is, its execution is a bit awkward. From what we were told, it was supposed to be a difficult End Game activity that allowed fire teams and solo players a chance to get End Game rewards in a Patrol Zone. I think most of us are okay with it being difficult, but do to the constraints and down right wackiness of matchmaking, it can be impossible, UNLESS you manipulate said matchmaking systems. In all in all its a cool idea, but they have to figure out a better way to get more people together, or people will stop playing it.
-
And it's bongo's fault for putting a high level activity with high player requirements in a zone where you can only have 3 players in a fireteam. I agree that's pretty toxic that they tried to invite you to their fireteam just to kick you, but bungie shouldn't be giving players a reason to act like this in the first place. There are always gonna be bad encounters in every game you play but this one could have been avoided with better game design. 6 player patrol needs to happen.

2 Antworten
How do you deal with it?
I don't. I do not depend on other people in this game. I play to enjoy MYSELF and ME alone

18 AntwortenBearbeitet von puppyk1sses: 5/19/2018 8:01:50 PMThis entire expansion is incredibly divisive to the community. You have this overtly hard pve activity which requires manipulation of the players in your instance to complete, and this ridiculous PVP weapon that’s locked behind a wall that only the very best AND very best connected players with the best friends can obtain. It’s truly a case of “rich get richer”. If you’re good enough to get this weapon, you’re already pubstomping ppl without a game breaker. Putting this gun into the hands of the elite-only was a mistake. Bungie is pandering in their TWAB about not wanting to split the community, but the truth is their game has been breeding and encouraging elitism, divisiveness, screwing your neighbors over for personal gain, and toxicity since raids and Trials were released in D1.
-
1 AntwortenRight now there is no other way to complete this activity, Bungie designed it knowing you can't make a 9 man fire team. Bungie knew we would use the same method we did for Court of Oryx. Bungie will either make EP easier or just let it die and make no changes, they will never allow a 6 or 9 man fireteam available for patrol areas. But hey if you know what they are up to why not lend them a hand while they try and get their friends in? As long as they aren't being jerks about it just invite the friends, back out and go about your business. It's not their fault Bunige designed this feature or the fact that you don't have an active Clan or friends.
