In all fairness, they where only trying to do it themselfs using the 9-man strat, they wanted you to leave so they could get there friends in and actually get it done, It really does take some communication its not just all shooting, 360 is not "too low" but you are only just high enough to do any damage to the last boss.. You said you tried it with 4 of you? i guarrentee you didnt reach lvl 7, which is the only level these "toxic" players where worried about. I do the same with my friends, we ask the person if they can please leave, and explain why, usually people just do as we say and leave so we can get on with it, I have done it 7 times now and every time we ask someone to leave, or for them to invite one of my friends to the lobby they do, im starting to think these "toxic" players asked to you leave and you ignored them, because there is no match making people are forced to do it this way we have to rely on other guardians such as yourself to help us get it sorted, they where NOT being toxic, they just wanted to get started on their 9-man, which you where stopping them.

Speaking of toxic players.....I had a guy in the heroic strike playlist yesterday grab the glowing ball, during the new psion strike, and just hold it. He was jumping all around the node you have to put it in. I actually had to leave the strike; that's how long I waited for this douche.

Had almost same issue but Xbox core services were having issues so I couldn't read or send messages or except chat and pty invites this resulted in some verbal abuse that I didn't see till this morning. This is a bigger problem than bungie realises and should be taken seriously as this is just yet another form of cyber bullying it's far from just everyday troll bull. This will take main stream as their are more immature idiots attracted the game now who just see their own time as the only time that matters. If I could of read the messages, sure I would of joined or even left as there was only 2 players from the clan who actually asked nicely. The toxic members actually looked me up on tracker I believe and started to insult my progress lmao which is stupid as I only got the game at the end of season 2. Any way, the point is as someone who has dealt with mental health problems and seen how this kind of bullying can effect people, this-on a bad day could of had some very different results for them and I would of been the one getting into trouble these idiots are keyboard warriors who feel safe to do and say as they please because they think no one can hold them accountable. Wrong. These people are adults, men with families these were not children just being kids. BUNGIE you need to address this as this will be known as escalation protocol for the WRONG reasons.

Assholes are everywhere, i remember in d1 in vog we would get booted all the time to make room for friends. Thats why i went your route, always play with people i know. Activities are aupposed to be hard, so when the tension rises, i know the guys i play with are not going to start being assholes.

I feel like if bungie had not of put a hard stop brick wall at 345 on normal progression this would not be near as bad as it is. Personally i think they should of instead made the 1st cap at 355 (with mods) and then heroic strikes / crucible play get you up to 360 with legendary gear, and after 360 only raids / trails / nightfall and milestones get you from 360 to level cap it would of been ALOT better. Currently the hard cap at 345 means even on heroic strikes you are at a kind of bad disavantage, the raid lair might as well be inaccessible and finishing EP is actually impossible because of the enemies becoming immune. If the brick wall they forced you to hit was around 350 you could at least do heroic strikes without dying in 2 shots to get higher level and then at least participate in all this stuff that is "end game" even if you are still at a disadvantage it becomes possible to try. I feel like the activities themselves are in a fine spot, but bungie had a strategy for slowing progression that sounded good on a paper and didn't work as well as they thought it would. Because of this progression grinds to a halt at 345 and it is up to luck to get higher than maybe 348 in the same week you hit 345 (due to possible duplicates wasting powerful engram upgrades; 5 pair of 350 pants don't really increase your light level). Because of this elitism and toxicity is back in full effect just like back in D1 when you couldn't do PoE without having literally all the best gear in the game because no one would let you play or when you couldn't do even old raids without having max end game gear and its causing all the same problems it did back then. Its a problem that could be fixed, but the question is will they do it before it gets worse... I don't understand why people get so insane about stuff like this, you don't have to be a douche bag and a giant raging moron just to get something done. Heck, even if its about getting to the max level asap (which i don't understand) at the very least you could not be horrible about it and ruin the game for everyone else. I will never get why the majority of people in destiny (at least that i've ran into) default to douche bag 99% of the time when trying to get others to assist them or are asked for help.

I had a similar situation happen to me. I got a random party invite when I was exploring mars, and the people in that party wanted me to invite one of them and make them fireteam leader. After I did that, they politely asked me to leave and I did. Afterwards, they sent me a couple friend requests and said that I could invite them if I ever need help with anything.

This game is designed for people who play 24/7...

The escalation protocol event is awful, but you just ran into toxic elitists that’s all. The matchmaking really needs to be fixed for this. And ignore the trolls saying you’re in the wrong, I blame bungie for bad design.
