I think what this game needs is for us to actually defeat an enemy race, as in none of them kicking about anymore. This way it feels like we have actually done something rather than ‘you have defeated the main bad guy but his troops are still everywhere until another main bad guy takes command’
I think we should I make an alliance with the fallen so there aren’t any of them trying to fight us anymore, maybe one house still has a grudge against us or something so we encounter them in battle in 1 mission or something.
The vex are time traveling robots so they should stick around and be a main focus. Cabal on the other hand should Not be her anymore, especially red legion.
If a specific enemy race, let’s just say the cabal for now we’re defeated and disappeared for even just a couple expansions it would feel like we actually beat them and if they ever did make a return it would be awesome because we hadn’t seen them in a while it would raise questions about who’s in command etc.
We have now had:
Fallen
Cabal
Vex
Hive
Taken (all of the above)
Siva splicers (fallen)
And next is frozen hive....I have no doubt that the pyramid ships will be a new enemy race but until then can we actually fully defeat someone.
I also know it would get boring fighting the same enemy’s over and over if a race or two disappeared but at least it would feel like we did something.

2 AntwortenBearbeitet von Penhalion Wolfe: 4/29/2018 2:06:01 PMNo. Genocide is never a human option. Ask what makes us human and this, our unwillingness to wipe out whole species, is part of the answer. Why do you think we try to save whales, elephants, tigers etc etc. Edit: In anticipation of muppets. No we do not always succeed but we at least try.

No because Bungie might actually have to design a new one if we did.

Bearbeitet von AlteraLateralus: 4/29/2018 2:32:40 PMTechnically, we have fully defeated the Splicers. We haven't seen a single one since the start of D2. If there were any stragglers left in the Cosmodrome, the Cabal prolly finished them off. The Taken managed to persist even after their King was vanquished, but the Splicers got wiped out and never expanded. Overall, the Splicers were a failure.

<I think we'll ally with the Fallen and Cabal (assuming Calus is nice after we kill the remaining conspirators), the Darkness itself will be gone, destroying the Taken, the 5th race will be on the run, and the Hive will die out entirely. The Vex are endless and the Dark Future is only inevitability... whether it's in 2 years or a million.>

You mean wiping out an entire race spanning an entire galaxy with nearly 80x the human population on earth in real life. Not to mention the human population in destiny is literally in one city. Sorry but I don’t see that being realistic. Not to mention the hive replenish extremely quickly in massive numbers and the vex are infinite.

Defeat a race? Ooh boy not for a LONG time. The Hive are already dead and breed by the thousands or the higher ones just reincarnate/resurrect themselves from Throne Worlds. The Vex are seemingly infinite. The Cabal have a multi planet spanning empire to draw reinforcements from, even if they're mere conscripts. The Fallen, despite being at their weakest, seem to still have substantial numbers considering how many they're willing to lose at each event site. And the Taken...there's no way to tell if we truly kill Taken beasts or merely temporarily banish them back to their realm. We are outnumbered 50 million to 1, we're going to be fighting for a VERY long time. It's a good thing Guardians don't age, we will need that aspect of immortality.

The hive and taken will go on until they are wiped out. The fallen are nearly wiped out and will die out trying to gain the traveler. The cabal are a race built on military conquest and refusing to acknowledge defeat. At no point in the lore have they acknowledged another race as being even equal to them, let alone superior. That means they'll never recognize or accept being beaten even if they are on the verge of extinction. The vex are on a quest to basically put the universe in a stable state where they are all that exists. The only way to stop any of that is genocide, and genocide makes you the bad guy.

Hero’s must have villains or they become villains themselves....
