This is about right. Destiny 2 is a serviceable shooter with excellent mechanics and graphics, a worthy effort to be purchased, played for a time, and disposed of at GameStop.
Destiny 1 was a way of life.

I agree with you and have said if you haven’t played D1 then you will like D2, but if you’ve played D1 then good luck :) D2 has many things going for it but I just can’t help but to compare it to it’s predecessor and it just falls way short. On the bright side I have started playing many other games to fill lost time from Destiny so thank you bungie.

I gave up Destiny 2 for most of Lent. Couldn't have done that with D1.
Destiny 1 IS a way of life.
fix'd

The Mighty Oddish approves.

Best summary I've seen!

The Mighty Oddish is wise. :)

Bearbeitet von Black Magic: 4/4/2018 2:09:04 AMExcellent mechanics huh?: Poor Gun system Token based loot system No Random rolls All perks across the board are sub par. Only a select few are desired Poor TTK (they’ll never change it) Lack of weapon diversity and creativity of loot (AKA: Reskins) Loot Duplication glitch that’ll never get fixed Shrub sized subclass “trees” Elementary level subclasses limited to two set attunements each Failure to make separate sandboxes for PvE and PvP Weapons as a whole are weaker (30% weapon damage reduction vs D1) regardless of statistics Loot is simply drip fed; no activities in the game are challenging enough. We need more endgame options besides Trials, Leviathan, and the Nightfall. Add a horde mode with its own loot pool. Instead of making a shader kiosk, let’s make them all consumables; genius. Kiss your limited time shaders goodbye if you delete them on accident.

Now tell me. Had you never played d1 do you really think you would hate it as much? These would mainly be things that had always been.
-
Exactly. The majority of people who have issues with Destiny 2 don't have them because of what it is... they have issues with it because it's not Destiny 1. And I understand that. D1's the better game. But D2's not a bad one.
-
That's my point. Like you said on its own D2 is a pretty decent game. But when compared to D1 you begin to wonder which one is the actual sequel.
-
It was supposed to be a step forward
-
All true. I meant the interface, controls. They're the same as D1's, and they're excellent.
-
By mechanics, he might mean the engine/gun play. It's still excellent.
-
Yes, that's what I meant. The "refinements" suck dick.
-
Gunplay is 6.5/10. I’m being generous
-
It's still the same as D1. Same engine at least.
-
Don’t compare Destiny to D2. D2 is nothing like its predecessor. The player base proves this.
-
Dumbest post I've seen. Not saying you're dumb. I say dumb stuff on here too. My statement was an obvious fact. It's the same engine in D2 as D1. I don't understand how that statement can get someone so butt hurt.

I’m not upset my friend. That’s what a forum is for. Casting your opinions. I’m to old to take offence. 👍
-
Good deal, sorry if my post seemed like I was taking offense to your post. I overreacted.
