I was going to give this a shot. I asked my friends if they wanted to hop on and play some to see how it felt. The following ensued:
Clan: “will there be random rolls?”
Me: “no”
Clan: “did they bring out some strong loot to strive for?”
Me: “no. Wait. A nightfall specific sniper”
Clan: “is it in the secondary slot now?” (There was some real hope in their voice during this question)
Me: “no”
Clan: “oh. So what’s strong about it?”
Me: “I guess strong was the wrong word. Maybe unique?”
Clan: “meh”
Me: (silence)
Clan: “I heard they brought 6v6 back. Can we do 6v6 control?”
Me: “no”
Clan: “did they reduce super cooldowns?”
Me: “yes! Something like 25%!”
Clan: “oh, so still slower than d1?”
Me: “yes”
Clan: “meh. I think I’ll just stick with monster hunter”
Me: “sounds fair”
No one got on. We were a group that did almost weekly raid runs as a consistent group of friends. Your 6 month prep go fast update didn’t even appeal to some legitimate destiny fans.
The game has gone in a new direction that doesn’t appeal to my very large list of friends. I honestly don’t know who the game is for anymore.

I'm in a clan of 52, not one person is playing.

It’s funny how some of these diehard bungie fans bash people for not playing the update to form an opinion. We know it wasn’t that great. Why download it again?
-
Agreed. I just know the 10-20 reasons my crew quit playing. When this update didn’t address those 10-20 reasons, they have no need to try again.
-
Give it to your dog see if it likes it. Mine was particularly fond of the disk box corners but that mut will chew anything so ymmv.

Bearbeitet von Dasz: 3/29/2018 5:45:24 AMMy only question is this, after the lies, half truths, hidden changes and individuals telling interviewers how hard making new content is, why should the community that got pissed on all the way to the bank by selling them nothing that was new even care to play Destiny 2, hell, since 75% of the staff was taken off the game to make Destiny 3, why should we even give an iota of a frack to give Bungee money to play a game that is more than likely is going to be a Destiny 2 reskin that is going to bold face lie to the community about the experience gain, then give some lame excuse about it didn't work as intended and the increase the requirement. Please tell me, why should people keep giving them money to play that?
-
My team haven't even talked about the update yet. Not one single person from my clan has yet to jump back on Destiny. A whole bunch of guys ( myself incl) are too busy chasing classified gear (and the div tech to lvl it) all this month in the DZ during the hugh 2 year anniversary global event. Good Times.
-
If you dont play it. No one knows about the update. Which is a joke anyway. Did not address any major design flaw in the game.
-
Well people know about it; but like nobody cares. Speaking for myself I stayed cool (and loyal) playing through D1's growing pains like everybody else for 3 years and I don't have the patience to suffer another 3 years growing with this game when it was the developer that did a 360 on us and completely failed to capitalize on the gains made in the first game. I can clearly see that none of this madness Bungie is inflicting on us has anything to do with the game or us but rather everything to do with the fight to stay alive as a company as they struggle to meet contractual obligations regarding their publishing deal with Activision. Every single thing this community discusses on these forums is all for naught as were just playing right into the smoke and mirrors campaign bungie implemented to keep us engaged while the real end game is staying alive. Soooo....yeah. the update sucks. Bungie is trash, buff this, nerf that, Bungie why arent you listening us? Hope D3 is better Blah Blah blah blah blah Its all for naught guys...operating as intended.

Clan: "so did this conversation actually happen or was OP pointlessly attempting to use rhetoric to strengthen his beliefs?" Me: "..."
-
I suppose I should post my Xbox party chat transcripts?
-
Or just admit that you never had that specified conversation. At least, not in the states form.
-
I doubt you’d rather read my actual 2 hour conversation that we had as I was trying to see if they wanted to play. I posted the pertinent information in a paraphrased manner. My friends and I have a 10-20 reasons why we quit playing. They brought up the 10-20 different reasons during our 2 hour conversation. A portion of the 10-20 were included in this dialogue I listed above. None of the 10-20 were solved by this update. Thus, no one played. Do you enjoy trying to be as literal as possible?
-
The purpose of quotation marks is to denote the exact words as they were stated...or as you would say, what was literally said. I don't give a shit about why you aren't playing. It just irks me when people degenerate the use of language for rhetorical purposes. It's that kind of crap that has caused the word literally to become synonymous with its polar opposite: figuratively.
-
Wow. Someone got triggered. It’s ok. These forums are a safe place. :)
-
Very true. My friends and i from the halo days who stuck by D1 all the way could not think about trying this update. Its nothing. A bunch of small game fixes which mean nothing. Theres still no incentive to play, no excitig crota or atheon moments, the raids are a joke. And apparently rumble is broken? Lol like what play testing did they do? I tried one game (alone since no one joined) and i literally saw at least people spawn right in front of me on 4 different occasions.... One play test bam thats all that was needed, clearly a spawning issue. God knows what they "play test" at bungie these days.
-
Sounds about right.
-
Truer words... I had diehard, hardcore players in my friends list. These are players that contended for first raid completions when they would come out. They lived, ate and shat Destiny. Nothing is getting them to come back. My friends list is a Destiny ghost town.
-
Could see how D2 was gonna go when Luke Smith was on E3 plugging the game. Every few mins he's scanning the room looking for the FWC sniper.
-
Game is for 4 year olds and those that want things handed to them.

Totally agree Ratmananator605. I still think 6v6 Iron Banner will help but that should have been now, or at least next week. Now on one seems to know when that IB 6v6 is to let clan mates know about it. It was a tuning patch but it should have been more. Watch several different former Destiny streamers on Twitch many who decided to give it a one day try and enjoyed what I saw and went home and played a few crucible matches with other regular and active D2 clanmates. We had fun and enjoyed the speed and guns for the most part. However, we need to find a way to cram the next 6 month unacceptable timeline of updates and rollouts into the next 2 weeks. I enjoyed the update, but the problem is even the most die hard players all but stopped the past couple weeks which for most ACTIVE clans was at 10% of the population. I enjoyed the new speed but now there's no reason to go in there because there's nothing new to go after or grind. For the active player there's just nothing to do with all characters at 335 2 weeks after Osiris, all exotics, several raid completions, too many shaders, etc...
-
You lie. This is clearly what you wanted. Most people would say yeah let’s give it a go. Play the game realise it’s not where it needs to be and the play fortnite :)

Ehhh. They were asking if this update fixed any of the issues that caused them to leave in the first place. It didn’t. They don’t want to play it.
-
Also I think atm they are satisfied with their actual game. This Update is a positive step from Bungie. As someone said, finaly they buff instead of nerf. Your clan members are not in mood for coming back. It is not a sin but they search for excuses and blame for not coming back.
