With the Patch that came out today, we finally got rumble back my personal favorite game mode in destiny 1. Destiny 2's rumble, however, involves 8 players rather than 6. Initially, I thought this wouldn't be a problem and wouldn't affect the game mode too much...but then I tried the "new" rumble.
It is fun to play don't get me wrong and I'm happy that it's back (Even if it is on a 3-week rotation) but the problem, in my opinion, comes from the number of people participating being 8. I first noticed this problem when I got a "We ran out of medals" medal from standing in one place and killing the people spawning in to my left and to my right.
The point that I'm trying to make is that the maps aren't really suitable for 8 people to be running around on trying to kill each other. Fair enough team based games having 8 people because you spawn relatively close to your teammates but in rumble, you're all alone so if you spawn in with someone looking at you, you're automatically at a disadvantage. You also have very limited places to spawn in as everyone is constantly running around meaning you almost never spawn in without having someone on your radar.
All I'm asking for is for Bungie to put the player count back down to 6 unless they already tried this and encountered problems in which case let us know what those problems were, as the only one I can really see is that games may be slower paced than they currently are.

8 player doesn't really work, the spawns are chaotic and heavily unbalanced.

Between this and spawning logic is why Rumble doesn’t work as it should reduce to 6 and work on the spawn logic, and that should help things, aside from the usual TTK issues ( but that’s a later thing that may not be as necessary if the others are improved)

Bungie is retarted maps are too small adds 2 more players to a gamemode that cant handel small maps

Yeah, 8 player rumble was not fun. I spawned between two players having direct line of sight on me more often than not.

8v8 could only work with big maps like Skyshock
the only one I can really see is that games may be slower paced than they currently are.
That's what I wan't. Its rewarding to kill one or two people an be alone for a while to get your barings back. The best rumble match I ever had in D1 was with only 4 people, I guess cause it was late. I'd say 4 would be way better than 6. I think 4 would be perfect.

Rumble was wasn't meant for 8 players.
