Hey, now that the live team is heading the game can you just go ahead and change EVERYTHING back to the D1 systems? Luke tried his little experiment and it failed horribly (not sales wise). In fact just get rid of Luke altogether. He clearly prefers to make games that 4 year olds can play so just let him work on the next Barbie game or whatever...
Ps. Make the game WE want to play not the game YOU want to play.

Barret has no say over whether luke is removed or not. be realistic.

1 AntwortenSorry man as much as i love CB, he has no say in what happens with Luke, Activision higher-ups do & sadly their too high on dollars to listen to reason
-
2 AntwortenFYI Barrett doesn’t give a shit
-
1 AntwortenBarret only plays 'good' cop for damage control. You want D1 you come back to D1 as I did. Bungie egos will not allow them to acknowledge they -blam!-ed up.
-
6 AntwortenFunny how everyone blames Luke Smith like he made this game all by himself.

Players are actively demonstrating that D1 doesn't have anything worth going back to either, despite what they like to say or think. The destiny population as a whole is low, and changing things back to D1 won't do a thing. This is one of those times where you do not listen to the fanbase in a strict sense because they have absolutely no clue on how to improve the game beyond "well I enjoyed D1's this, that, or the other". That or "b-b-but [insert game here] did this". Incredibly uncreative with no perspective and just not capable of critical thought.

5 AntwortenLike Smith made D2 in 16 months. To me that bad ass. For 3 months it was an awesome game. Then we started seeing the flaws that we want changed today. 16 month for a game of that caliber is pretty impressive.

44 Antworten1. They are basically doing that to the extent that they can do so without breaking the game. 2. This wasn't Luke"s ideas. They were Jon Weisznewski's...and imo, they were forced on Smith by Bungie executives who were in love with the idea of Crucible becoming an e-sport and the next Overwatch. 3. Smith oversaw the creation of the Vault of Glass and Kingsfall raids....and his own gaming background is from World of Warcraft. Which is why I firmly believe that---like Christopher Barrett---he was against the changes being made to the franchise, but was put in a position of either do what he was told, or go work somewhere else. 4. Your final sentence is close to the truth. I think that was the mistake that Bungie made. There was a major management shake-up, and Destiny 2 looks like an collection of various people's "pet projects" and notions of what "Destiny should have been'..... ...and no one was keeping their eye on the ball of what the community really wanted, and what it really expected from the game. Which is why this "re-branding" landed with a shock....and angry disappointment.

1 AntwortenDestiny = AAA version of Candy Crush

10 AntwortenEven if they wanted to, they can't. It's not just switching a switch. It takes time to balance, code, test and polish. Such a big rework is not something they can just do, they are slowly getting back to D1 (instead of building on it). I'm just afraid they won't make it on time.

Smith is still Barrett's boss.

1 AntwortenJust give us a 4th slot for special weapons Fusion rifle shotgun sniper maybe crappy grenade launchers. shotguns fusions and snipers are fun but again why would you pick one of those over a rocket launcher those three weapons do not belong in the heavy slot

5 AntwortenNo need to ask anyone to change anything back to D1. Just go play D1.

I wish I could say that I totally agree with that. I'd have loved Destiny 2 as an expansion: five relevant raids, lots of new guns, faction rallies, fast travel, public events, new environment, and no special ammo nerf (because no dual-primary system). But sadly, I think we may be beyond that. Most of the old Destiny fanbase is gone. The ones remaining have adapted. Maybe Bungie's best bet at this point, their best chance at salvaging this grim situation, is to simply have try to develop a fanbase in its own right. When you're past the point of no return, you generallty have to keep going.
