TL;DR : If possible - having Free DLC content drops focused on re-releasing/vamping the Planetary Locations of D1 with (1) possible strike(s) would be a generous way to fill the gaps between *actual* content drops, whilst filling the disconnect of 'why can't we go to planet X anymore anyway?'.
--
Also, big emphasis on the FREE aspect of this idea though - not to be *that* person - you've already sold this game as a £/$60 AAA sequel, included lootbox-esque microstransactions, and charge premium for DLCs/Expansions on top of that. You've made your money back from initial sales alone, act on the money you've made and start producing more content.
--
I'm not a game-designer, engineer or anything like that, so I genuinely don't know whether it would be possible to do so - However it it were possible, I think that would be an enjoyable way to re-release content that (arguably) should have been in this 'sequel' since day 1.
The idea behind this is, these could be goodwill free content drops in-between DLC updates.
I'm not here to insult the events you put into the game - Faction Rallies and Iron Banner, but they're hardly exciting, fresh activities to participate in (albeit the 6v6 changes will spice up the PvP style in future IBs I'm sure).
Again, as I'm not in any way game-design-oriented, I don't know whether such an idea is feasible, but I think something along those lines sounds reasonable? The locations already exist, the models, areas that could be converted into Lost Sectors/ potential places that a few Lost Sectors could be implemented in.
A single strike per planetary location would be nice too, (revamped versions of the old ones like AoT?) but just being able to explore the entire Solar System of Destiny would be a generous (and well deserved) gift to the playerbase that continues to support your game, especially after the months of waiting for meaningful changes, the dry gaps inbetween (paid) content drops etc
I guess Narrative/Implementation-wise, to drip-feed said content could be in a 'The Darkness...Uh...The Retconned(?) Forces have infested key areas since the Red War gave them the opportunity. Take the Zones back'. With a Warframe-esque entire community event (in the sense of universal playerbase progress of the event in this case) of clearing map-zones and large public-event style bosses with rewards per zone (even if it's just a batch of MW Cores if it's too hard slappin' in guns/armour/interesting loot) until the whole planet's map is unlocked freely.
Little bonus emblems for those who participated in the 'world clearing', possibly tiered (if you helped do all 4 zones then you get a slightly fancier emblem to those who did 1 or 2 etc, requires something like 'beat each Zone Boss 5 times in each area until planet cleared).
Then, at long last, I'll be able to play hide-and-seek on Venus again...the real end-game come true.
Also waiting for a mod to abuse the 'move to feedback feature' because everything is being cast over there. This isn't direct feedback about the current game but a general suggestion/idea on incorporating sorely needed additional content. Unless the changes to this sites regulations included 'move 90% of posts to Feedback so the actual employees at Bungie never get through a swamp of not-feedback as an excuse to not respond to genuine feedback' then please do not move this to feedback.

Moderator edit: This thread has been moved to #Feedback forum so that other Destiny players can weigh in. See Cozmo's thread here for more information about the #Feedback tag and its uses.
Feel free to private message the moderator who moved your post, link to topic for further clarification about why this topic was moved.
Free? Bungie/activision? Hahahahahahaha
-
1 AntwortenWell, they would have to rebuild the strikes from scratch as d2 runs on a completely different engine than d1. So putting all the old locations or old weapons back in would require completely remaking them. However they could just throw in a copy of d1 in with a bundle on the ps store or something but...
-
Sorry bro but will never happen rumours go that the D1 planets have been moved to the black hole called #feedback
-
it will take another 5 years for that bud x.x
-
1 AntwortenI actually think this is a great idea and if Bungie did this they would probably gain a lot more players for Destiny 2.
-
2 AntwortenWith silver it’s possible
-
Another Guardian once said on these boards, "Bro, where's the moon??" That shit was so true it hurt a little.
-
4 AntwortenSee there's your problem. Bungie and Free can't be used in the same sentence, it's a paradox ya know
-
That's their only option rn. If they bring old content behind a paywall they'll bury themselves completely.
-
Oh yeah they'll totally do that for ya
In an $80 Dollar DLC
-
3 AntwortenDont make them even think about recycling more Stuff. These Guys have to get their Shit together and come up with something new AND cool. The Fanchise is in a real bad Shape if the Comm starts asking for recycled D1 Content.
-
3 AntwortenId like to see this too, especially because i play on PC and wish I could get Destiny 1 over here, but the reality is it takes them 10 months to fix mass shader delete. I dont see them handling anything like this.
-
3 AntwortenFREE!!! Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha!!! That's funny stuff right there!!
plus, that would be way too hard for them to do
-
Bunjo will understand this as " you must pay 40 dlls to (re)play content of D1 in D2"
-
A fair chunk of D2 is just recycled unused parts of D1. Why add more from D1 to D2? It's time they stepped up and did what they are suppose to do.

3 Antworteni said in local chat at the tower that it would be great if bungie could add in destiny 1 campaign OR the whole game as an optional DLC for PC players, maybe you would have to go to zavala like you currently go to ikora to replay destiny 2 missions; except he would call it 'refresher training' and a chance to walk in the footsteps of another legendary guardian, or something. also... who made the design decision to make this guardian mute? i seen the guardian in the first game played on youtube. they dont speak much in the cutscenes but i think its better for it. maybe they could have made a standard male/female english (american) voice then had other voice packs at eververse to buy or get in engrams with other accents or even in other languages if you were spanish or german or japanese. im not a fan of having to microtransact everything - but im even less of a fan of a guardian who obviously had their tongue and voicebox removed at their resurrection.

D1 Doesnt exist...only Destiny! omg...
-
<Cabal on my precious Venus... kill them all.>
-
2 Antwortenwould be nice
-
Jet Set WillyIt’s all going concording to plan 😂🤣 - alt
Destiny 2 was going to keep all the original locations prior to the reboot 16 months before release. -
They never should have gotten rid of them! I f they had any hind sight they would have filled those worlds with the cabal and put in end game missions to retake them this would have left more time for them to make the DLC better buying them alot of time and helping to fix most of the problems with the endgame issues

4 Antworteneven more reskinning? no thank you
-
1 Antworteni would take back everything bad ive said about bungie if they did this but i doubt it

4 AntwortenBearbeitet von GalaxySpider: 3/9/2018 9:59:28 AMIt would take them at least a year to do that, if not longer, including all the things you just mentioned. Since D2 uses an improved engine, every damn location from D1 had to be reworked to make them compatible and to make them fit the design of D2 and to make them support HDR and so on. Takes a long time for performance testing something like that. Especially for an online game. Even D2‘s engine can‘t handle everything. Like the public event in the EDZ behind the church. It slowdowns like crazy when there is too much going on. So you just don‘t slap a D1 location into D2‘s code and hope it runs fine and looks good just by doing nothing... Next thing are the activities like Strikes. They also need to be reworked since we have a different loadout and also new abilities for our classes. Yupp, takes a decent time as well. And what would be the point of it anyway? Just patrol and the strikes? In D1 the locations lived from their missions and how we discovered all the areas. Not just the 2 or so strikes per map or random chests. The certainly don‘t have time to implement like a complete second game into D2 when the majority already works on the Year 2 expansion for fall and is busy keeping that game alive. Next thing the stuff you mentioned. Live global public events etc. Everything needs to be implemented and tested at some point. And by that I don‘t mean try it two times and it‘s done. No. That‘s not how it works even if many seem to believe that. Again who is gonna do that when almost everyone at Bungie works on D2 related things to somehow fix the game or expand it with new content people constantly screaming for. Don‘t get me wrong. I could imagine having things like this after the fall expansion or so, as a throwback DLC with new mini stories and strikes on these locations. And new events. But IMO they have way more important things to do and improve right now.
