Frankly the game is barren and dire, a shame given the fantastic lore behind it, another shame is the fact they don't really let us interact with the lore for example the shadows of Calus? Some amazing sounding creatures! Where are they tho
I know the shadows are dead but I'd like to see species such as the fulminator etc

I remember the good days when your grimoire score was displayed on your emblem. And even though it did nothing, it was still satisfying to collect dead ghost and raise it

Well, if you want lore, play Skyrim. If you like fleshed out characters, try Fallout. Duh, both are from Bethesda, not Bungie! Your sidekick in D2 is a boring schlep with a nasally voice. Nowhere as good as Cortana, which is what they should have cloned. In the CoO, we had the lovely Morena Baccarin doing the voice of Sagira. Why doesn't Bungie give us a choice of Ghosts? I miss Sagira. As it is, the visuals are the number one memorable accomplishment you have in the game. The caves are stunning, and the best thing for spelunkers. Give me more caves, especially those with two or more paths to cause confusion. This is kind of game where the voice actors are vastly superior to the dialect they have to recite. Which is very sad given the number of English majors that are graduating from college with no job prospects. Bungie could have hired an above average writer for peanuts, instead of Luke Smith ... Quite sad, but upper management was never known for imagination.

Bearbeitet von GrundleBeans: 3/2/2018 5:34:13 PMLore can be cool and all, but I'm not really a fanboy of anything. I've played the game because I like most of the overall package, not just one thing. To me, lore (or folklore) is just supporting content that adds to the experience to make it broader and/or deeper. If you take it out of a game entirely, that won't necessarily make it fall apart or make it no longer fun to play.
-
There is only folklore now, bungie decided to remove the lore and decided not to replace or add any new or interesting lore ( except maybe lore tabs ), so now they have no," lore."
-
I play destiny for the folklore, yeahhhh!!
lol
-
Christine Thompson killed the lore, messed up the continuity, made it boring and then silence people on the internet who call them out, so i have no idea what you're on about.
-
me.. at least i tried to .. sadly there isnt story to pursue..
-
I did, until they decided to throw out everything from D1 and use it as folklore even though they have clear references to it actually happening throughout D2. That pisses me off. What the hell is lore in this game?
-
Cared at one point, till it was dismissed as “folklore”

6 AntwortenBungie hired a failed comic writer to take over and change everything good into a funny children's book.

1 AntwortenI love the universe the game is set in. I always described it as Star Wars meets The Lord of the Rings. I wish there was a place to view discovered lore tidbits in-game. I love looking at the Lore tabs on exotics and raid gear. Always an interesting story. I hope they continue to produce media like the Osiris comics that flesh out more of the world. I know everyone hated the Grimoire system, and I agree it wasn't the best, but there was some genuinely cool shit in here.

Wasn't lore data's evil twin on star trek? Can you shoot him?

I watch Magic Mike for the lore.

Hah. Destiny has no interesting story that is playable. Just lore that sounds awesome.
-
Since the comics are the only thing thats officially lore... no the lore sucks. I played for the heresay, for the folktales, but the lore itself is awful.
-
D1, yes. Bungie has made abundantly clear in D2 that they don’t care any longer about Lore and don’t respect it.
-
1 AntwortenYou mean folklore right?

1 AntwortenBearbeitet von Demon_XXVII: 2/25/2018 11:23:49 PMD1 introduced the Lore..... D2 introduced the bore!

2 AntwortenThe games had "lore"? Hmm, must've missed it, maybe if it was in the game. No I didn't play for lore, but even if I did, the two games are so lacking in it.
-
There are small bits of lore all over, they're just not obvious. Find the "Daito" room at the tower. Play the Arecibo adventure on IO, highly recommended before the next dlc. I wish there was a place where all of it could be stored, and checked out at your leisure somewhere, even the "folklore" from D1. But sadly its not a priority of theirs it seems. Fixing pvp is too important.

Did Bungie create an alt-universe? Will they merge the two canons further down the road? Find out next time on "Find Your D!"

What lore? Honestly, though, most of the dialogue in the game isn't really lore. A lot of the NPCs' dialogue is just forced humor, and the Ghost's dialogue is even worse.
-
I did, but a certain someone who has no experience writing a story and has no respect for the lore that was built over the course of 4 years and has soiled one of the last things I enjoyed about this franchise.
