I've yet to see a definitive answer to whether random rolls will make a return or not? Personally I don't think they will which I am disappointed in but this new mod system could be an alternative. No where near as appealing, but it is something. Bungie seem to only reply to selective topics and I've seen a lot of random roll requests; similar to horde mode request, yet Bungie do not reply. If they have replied to random roll requests then please direct me to this topic.
I would really appreciate it if we can get this topic going strong so someone at Bungie could give an answer (yes or no) and preferably a reason behind this answer because right now, in my eyes, random rolls were removed because of Bungie's dream of this franchise becoming an eSports, out of laziness of having to 'nerf' and 'buff' guns and the fact some players just have to get better at the game and not instantly complain about getting killed in Crucible because of a specific gun/gun roll.
Edit (15/2/18): This is good - we're getting some momentum going. Keep it up as we want an official answer!

6 AntwortenWhat would you randomize? The perk pool is an inch deep. Ninety percent of the good perks from D1 are either missing, or were “promoted” to exotic status. This is the problem. The system is so constrained that there is very little potential for one weapon perk combination being noticeably more powerful than any other. Regardless of how you combine them. There’s no ability right now to even create weapons that are better than the game’s best weapons.

1 AntwortenOf course Yes, but this alone won't fix the game IMO.

Maybe....... that is if its changed to not be completly random but more like a mod that has its own slot that you cant change. How this will work exactly is something i am still working out right now since its an idea that just popped up in my head

1 AntwortenI too want a reply to this. If things are going to stay like this I want to know, I will quit holding onto the little hope I have left for this near dead game.

1 Antwortenno to random rolls.. fix modding.

9 AntwortenNo. Those that play 24/7 are the only onces that have a benefit from this while the players that play on weekends and like 2-3 hours on weekdays because of jobs can feel punished by bad rng. The game should evolve instead of going back to how D1 was. With weapon forging instead of random rolls. Forging makes it that you make 1 weapon out of 6 others. 1 weapon for looks and name. 1 weapon for frame type 1 weapon for firerate 1 weapon for first perk tree (sights is kinetic, barrels energy) 1 weapon for middle perk tree 1 weapon for final perk tree. In order for this too work, we need weapons from Raids, Trials and Provecy to have a extra perk thats only on those guns and cant be transferred over with weapon forging. Trials weapons should have the perk that increases reloading and handling when enemy’s are close. (Too prevent them from being too OP in PvP) Raid weapons should have the perk that makes them do Bonus damage on the Leviatan. (Or against Cabal.) Provecy weapons should have the perk that they do bonus damage against Vex enemy’s. (Since thats why Osiris created them after all.) The weapon forging part is something that can fix alot of things for D2. Make us feel powerfull with the gear we want to use. And have a different loadout for stuff like raids or normal pve content and so on.

1 AntwortenThe only people that actually like regressive, primitive systems like static rolls are the small minority of fan boys.

4 AntwortenBearbeitet von MithBesler: 2/15/2018 7:22:40 PMWhy does everyone think that Random Rolls is the silver bullet for what ails the weapons system in Destiny 2. Ok so they give us random rolls, but the way the guns are laid out now it would be little to no improvement. There is a reason people are saying the guns are lackluster because they are. I may have missed a perk or two here kinda just cutting and pasting into a spreadsheet. Ok let's look at Hand Cannons my favorite weapon type. There are 4 different Intrinsic Perks they can have.
Aggressive Frame: High damage, high recoil. Adaptive Frame: Well rounded, reliable, and sturdy. Lightweight Frame: Superb handling. Move faster with this weapon equipped. Precision Frame: This weapons recoil pattern is more predictably vertical.
Then we have sights, not going to be arsed to look all those up since really the changes they do in D2 is very slight. So next we have what is called Battery and Magazine you can pick 2 but only 1 can be active.
Accurized Rounds : This weapon can fire long distances. Appended Mag: This weapon's magazine is built for higher capacity. Increases magazine size. Armor-Piercing Rounds: Rounds cause extra damage to shields and overpenetrate targets. Slightly increases range. Drop Mag: Magazine drops on reload, wasting ammunition but greatly increasing reload speed. Extended Mag: This weapon has a greatly increased magazine size, but reloads much slower. Greatly increases magazine size. Greatly decreases reload speed. High-Caliber Rounds: Shots from this weapon knock the target back farther. Slightly increases range. Ricochet Rounds: Rounds ricochet off hard surfaces. Increases stability. Slightly increases range. Steady Rounds: This magazine is optimized for recoil control. Greatly increases stability. Slightly decreases range. Tactical Mag: This weapon has multiple tactical improvements. Slightly increases stability. Slightly increases reload speed. Slightly increases magazine size.
Then finally we have what is the main Trait of the gun. Remember unlike in D1 where there was 2 columns that that they pull from you only get one.
Auto-Loading Holster: The holstered weapon is automatically reloaded after a short period of time. Dragonfly: Precision kills create an elemental damage explosion. Explosive Payload: Projectiles create area of effect detonation on impact. Grave Robber: Melee kills reload a portion of the magazine. Hip-Fire Grip: Ergonomic grips that increase accuracy and stability when firing from the hip. Kill Clip: Reloading after a kill grants increased damage. Opening Shot: Improved Accuracy and Range on the opening shot of attack. Outlaw: Precision kills greatly decrease reload time. Pulse Monitor: Automatically reloads a portion of the magazine when critically wounded. Quickdraw: This weapon can be drawn unbelievably fast. Rampage: Kills with this weapon temporarily grant increased damage. Stacks 3x. Timed Payload: Projectiles attached to enemies explode after a short delay Triple Tap: Rapidly landing precision hits will return 1 round to the magazine from reserves. Zen Moment : Causing damage with this weapon increases its stability. Ambitious Assassin : Overflows the magazine based on the number of rapid kills before reloading.
How about they go back and rework the guns to have better perks and more perk slots. I do see some combos here that would be fun, but heck more than likely there is a gun out there with that combo. Also I put some Raid gun perks in here, might as well.

2 AntwortenRandom rolls is the reason I am alive

2 AntwortenBuff EVERY perk before reintroducing Rerolling and allow the gunsmith to reroll guns for 50K Gimmer and 50 Legendary Shards - so it is not the game breaker people think it might be.

1 AntwortenBring back random rolls please!!!!! With old favourite perks!!!

1 AntwortenI'm for random rolls, but atm it would random garbage. They need to increase the power output of all weapons and add another perk for random rolls to work. I would love to see a full auto, outlaw, triple tap scout rifle. Firefly back to it original glory. Handcannon accuracy put back, I hate when my bullets don't go where there suppose to go. Keep the static boring shit for the pvpers. Give the pve'rs the interesting fun to use powerful stuff.

8 AntwortenDepends. I would like some level of control when customizing my weapon. Keyword is customization. There is no level of depth of customization for weapons right now besides pick between 2 different perks and a sight.
