This Week at Bungie, we dive a bit deeper into Nightfall Scoring. We also speak to how Prestige difficulty is being addressed moving forward.
Dive in and read up!
Before we get to the details, Game Director Christopher Barrett has some context to frame up the essential fantasy that we’d like for the Nightfall to serve.
Barrett: Nightfall should be a challenging test that only the bravest Guardians dare face. Fireteams of any size should be able to participate, from organized clan groups to skilled solo players. Players should be able to determine their own challenge level, by going slow and steady or fast and wild, with elective modifiers to test the most hardcore veterans. Your final score will separate the best from the rest, and with high risk comes high reward. Each terrible villain that players face should have a very rare and powerful unique item, themed to them, that tumbles to the ground as they collapse into a pile of bones. Conquering Nightfall should be a badge of honor, with the best players able to show off their achievements with new dynamic emblems and exclusive auras.
That’s the vision of where we want to take Nightfall, you’ll be seeing the first of this direction in the next patch, with more being added over time.
With those goals in mind, we asked Designer John Favaro and Senior Design Lead Tyson Green to share some facts on how they plan to enhance Nightfall strikes.
37 AntwortenDid I miss something? I couldn't care less about emblems, auras and scores. WHERE. IS. THE. LOOT??
-
2 AntwortenUntil PVE is FINALLY seperated from PVP you will never see another one of my hard earned dimes.

1 AntwortenI'm confused about the timer rage. I played D1 and soloed night falls too, but I only do nightfalls with random team mates in D2, some of whom are not great, and haven't struggled with a night fall since this game launched. I'm not even that good. Is the timer really such a big deal? 🤔

5 AntwortenAll that’s left in these forums is just a few thousand haters with really bad ideas and giving the worst feedback ever.

11 AntwortenThank you for keeping us updated on new changes and content coming in the future. It gives us something to look forward to. For all of you people still complaining...stop. You asked them to communicate more and they are. But when they do you just crush them and spread hate. Go away...nobody wants to come on these forums and read negativity. There are so many cool topics of discussion that can be had regardless of the state of the game. The gentleman that posted the topic about the exotic hunter helmet Foetracer is a great example. Let’s help build the community not destroy it...

1 AntwortenCan’t wait to do he Nightfall. I have actually skipped it completely until now. Did it in D1 but have never felt the urge in D2. Love the fact that everyone can participate but the better you do the better rewards you get, that is as it should be! I dont expect to grab the best rewards, i know my limitations, but i will sure try and try :)

I like this update. Nightfall sounds good, raid sounds good. Moving in the right direction. I'm most interested in the sandbox update.
-
The Nightfall Strike Scoring looks awesome. I liked the timers and I hate to see them go but, how can you argue when what it's being replaced with sounds so much better? Thanks for the update.
-
3 AntwortenThis is SUCH AN IMPROVEMENT in communication, and it also contains some very cool info regarding Nightfall strikes. I now have a reason to actually bother with doing it. Keep it coming, Bungie! This is the kind of stuff the game needs. Thank you.

6 AntwortenNightfall changes sound fantastic. Looking forward to that for sure.
-
Cool nightfall changes
-
Great changes and improvements! You guys are giving me hope!
-
Thanks, looking forward to trying this out. Glad to see there will still be a challenge. I was really worried that would would lose our existing difficulty level of Prestige Nightfall
-
4 AntwortenIt’s nice too see you guys ninja every negative post about your game. All I see now is love posts and how excited everyone is about the game.
-
7 AntwortenAnother solid week of communication. Well done. The future updates are looking more and more promising.
-
1 AntwortenFix your game ! Just did the nightfall for the first time with help and just my luck ! It glitches out at the end , we beat the boss and everything but it didn’t give us our rewards and the time didn’t stop and we “ failed mission “

Why don't we get a '69' or 'Rub n tug' emote for Crimson Days? I mean it is a time for love, deep deep love and friendship!!!! 🍆🍆🍆🍆👊
-
Are these rewards unique or will they be more of a reskin on a reskin only to be reskinned again. Its your loot pool thats no deeper than a puddle and we get that things are changing which is good to hear but all in all d2 still killed off alot of hardcore raid clans friends lists how do you convince players that left to come back to destiny 2. For me if the loots there im there but like most early players saw the static roll thing you did was never going to work and now its mods 2.0 which needs to be more than a couple to choose from. You can nuke this post and that will tell me your not interested in your players comments negative or not.

Sure would be nice to get some new Content and guns and armor in this So called “RPG”! Oh look a pink shader! Delete! Oh look the same gun from D 1 Delete Oh look the same drop Delete! Delete! Delete!.......

Destiny 2! Silencing gaurdians..... One post at a time...... #dontbejerks.

Why is last weeks TWAB being pinned on the forum
-
For the sandbox. Y'all should buff handcannon.aim assist at a very close range. So we can add to the choices. Because right now its always an antiope, lasthope and mini mida for close range guns. Let's throw some handcannons in there
-
Hey with the new sandbox update. We need more in air accuracy with these mobility changes.
-
Sure. Excited to see these Changes in Destiny 3. -blam!- off

3 AntwortenNice update and thanks for the frequent comms. If people are still bitter about time and point decay, what if instead you provide some positive multiplier based on your time of finish instead? For those salty beasts out there, getting a positive bonus for a good time vs. a negative penalty for a bad one might taste better, even if the end result is effectively the same in terms of keeping time a factor. Thanks and keep up the good work! I hope to be continually motivated to hit this game up again as features and improvements roll out.
