With all the people claiming this game is dead and the number reports coming in, it is hard to see them come back from this.
New games have taken away so many people and more great games will be releasing this year.
I love destiny, but I'm in a constant state of fear that something I loved will disappear into a memory of what not to do in the game industry.
I pray for this games success.

1 AntwortenThey could easily redeem themselves in D3. and it wouldn't even be that hard, they would just have to express some common sense. in D2 they attempted to "fix" stuff that wasn't an issue to begin with, so that was their major downfall. they were so disconnected from the community that they had no common sense on what they community licked

The real world waits for you after video gaming. You'll be ok.

I'm hoping something else comes along and does everything that destiny did right and turn it into something truly amazing. I see no point in continuing playing a game that's got barely any content and is obviously aimed at the most casual simpleton players. Bungie don't know what they want destiny to be, I've moved on to monster hunter and it really shows destiny up in regards to a world that feels alive and full of things to do compared to destinys emptiness. I will always say that destiny has ridiculously great potential but I highly doubt bungie will ever scratch that potential. Destiny will die unless there's a huge shift away from being a casuals game.

Me neither but it is already dead. I can play to get some ornaments I don't give a fcuk about or I can play Monster Hunter World. I can play shitty PVP or I can play Fortnite. The game doesn't offer anything unique or fun anymore sadly.

All things must come to an end, man. That being said, I think Bungie has finally seen their errors as evidenced by players leaving in droves; and they aren’t going to roll over and give up. They don’t want to go out of business or get bought out. They’re a business that’s made up of people that, I’m absolutely positive, don’t want their jobs to disappear. They WILL fix it because they have no other choice. A three year game is on the brink of death, (when compared to its anticipated player support), and it has only been out 5 months. I know how disappointed you are. The experiences we shared with friends from all over the world in d1 was an awesome thing. Good times. Now one could easily replicate that feeling by getting involved in something else. Join a bicyclist club. Going play some basketball or join a softball team. Get involved in the community that is right outside you’re own door. However, if you’re like me, this isn’t necessarily easy or possible when you have young children. But rest assured, one day, this game IS going to come to an end.

6 AntwortenDestiny fan here and I will explain my take on what destiny is... Destiny 1 is Pac-Man except bungie released only four backgrounds for said game and sold you the new backgrounds as dlc. Sure, the ghosts moved faster at you creating more of a challenge, but that’s it. Pac-Man had 255 levels. Bungie gave only part of that. But, it was fun to play and that is all that matters. 100% fact for any game. So a very basic comparison I know, but that is not my point... Point is, d2 came... and you can reread my d1. Sure, new “backgrounds” but it is the exact same game and content. Sure, anyone can love it like me, like you... But 3+ years of playing the exact same game with absolutely nothing new will garner boredom and negativity. That’s why later iterations of Pac-Man failed. Sure they added 3D and all sorts of little things to try and spice up the game... but you still just do the same thing. You have to innovate, you have to make things exciting or it it gets stale. You have to entice a player with mystery and paint a clear goal of what are after in a game for a sense of progression. This does not ruin what we do like, but it gets old especially when we step backwards in content just to call it a sequel and drip feed us back what we had in the first place. They need to seriously address pve and the daily, weekly, and monthly content. They do not need to add a lot other than a formula of things to do with what they gave us. Tuesday should not be the reset... Each day of the week should be leading to Friday and weekend for trials. Giving pve players time to do pve stuff and pvp players stuff to do to ready themselves for trials. Focus in on planet of the week on Monday, strikes on Tuesday, raids on a day, pvp on a day and gives us more to do in each section with resets 7 days later. Make what you are doing or grinding go towards builds for each area. You can do this with mods for appearance and play styles. Doing said things also allows developers to do minimal work that allows them to be creative with each week in each area. Try new pvp modes for its week, new enemy engagements on their reset on their planet, etc etc... It does not need more “stuff” as far as content, they need more reasons do their stuff repeatedly for the longevity of the game. I have said this before... kingdoms rebuild. We are a dedicated fan base that has spent many hours in this game. When we beat the story and needed a new space on our wall due to the tower getting attacked is understandable, but there should be signs of our strength. That would be to rebuild our tower. Each dlc should see this progress happening. It would create a connection to us diehard players that we fought the enemy and we will rebuild or repair what is ours. Final dlc, we get our tower back. It’s those little things that create a connection and gives a player a sense of progression and adds a sense of engagement. Or not... that is my take.

1 AntwortenDont worry, it wont. Bungie and activision have a contract, that aint going anywhere. Plus, most fans wont totally leave. They'll wait till they have a reason to play. It's the only reason d2 flopped harder then d1, there's just no reason for me to log on every week, or no reason to play more then 3 or so hours a week.

Bearbeitet von Crusader: 2/3/2018 10:40:11 AMyeah same i still play it everyday i like its game mechanics and the psuedo mmo elements no other fps has kept me playing past its singleplayer elements. i like it when i can explore etc while other fps mp is somekind of a lobby and servers . codww2 social space is nice could be better if we could explore beyond the beaches maybe put some pve kill na..zi lol it censored na.zi with some random wiki link? stuff with little quests planetside 2 if it had pve could be awesome along with its pvp even in planetside 1 it had nice lore but was never fully explored with its pvp genre but for me D1/D2 are my favorite games play them daily so i hope they don't phase them out.....

I don't want it to, either. I am currently not playing d2 and probably only will when the second expansion comes out (because I already paid for the expansion pass), but I can't understand why people want it to die so much. I mean, we won't gain anything from a bad game staying bad, and Bungie, as well as Activision will not "learn" from it, because they already have our money. The better thing to do, in my opinion, is to just hope that it might get better with the first TTK-like expansion and perhaps boycott the game until it gets better, but it doesn't need to die imo.
-
What this should go to show you is that the devs at Bungie think we're all extremely stupid and gullible. And amusingly they found out how wrong they really are.
-
Same. The game has so much potential.

I hope it burns to the ground. They've had more chances than just about anybody. Some of the -blam!- ups they have done have crippled other games. They shouldn't get a pass because their company name is creator of halo (not the current employees). They haven't learned in the past few years and need a cup of Jesus to wake them up. I played thousands and thousands of hours in D1 and will always be a Destiny fan (what I thought it would become and many others). This abomination is like your best friend stole you girlfriend and then for an explanation ... he stole your wallet. Then keeps coming back to your door step to game like nothing ever happened. Then you give him a chance and sleeps with your new girlfriend.
By Girlfriends I Definitely Mean Waifu Pillows
Bearbeitet von ccSPiTFiRΞ: 2/3/2018 10:10:03 AM
I dont want destiny to die
D2 was built on lies, greed & untested content (that gets patched almost every Tuesday). If you've been around to experience Bungie's disappointments since D1 launched & how it improved to it's best state (RoI), you should understand why the community feels completely insulted by the pile of shit that Bungie sold to us as a sequel. First off, D2 shouldn't exist since the first promise was for Destiny to be a base game with a 10 year expansion series. Anyways, moving on...based on Bungie's 3 year experience of tuning D1 to a "almost perfect state", why did D2 not launch at the same standard as where they left D1? The management team at Bungie is as bad as the product they deliver & they are gonna continue to lie & disappoint as long as we remain gullible sheep who follows wherever the master goes.
So getting back to your post title, I want D2 to fail & more importantly I want this franchise to sink because Bungie doesn't deserve any credit for what they've sold us as the next chapter of Destiny...
Bearbeitet von SilentX007: 2/3/2018 8:17:11 AMSometimes its hard to let go, i think people are waking up to what Bungivision has been doing. Short of them dropping a massive free, dlc type content with every setting D1 had at Year 3 with added lore in game and possibly the consmodrone or lost planets that we already had added back. That fear might just be realized, since games will just be getting better, leaving the negative image bungie left as a cornerstone of how not to build on potential. Sad

I don't either but I think it has.

Bearbeitet von D0CT0RJK: 2/3/2018 7:41:23 AMI’m not sure who is making the decisions at bungie but they have been failing consistently since D1 launch in creating an engaging long term experience (except for the brilliant TTK). Even RoI was a bit meh in the end. And D2 reboot has proved to be a balls up of gigantic proportions. The story is a mile wide but an inch deep. If they don’t pick themselves up and start making better games they will be left behind, legacy destroyed.

Watch bungie will drop the fall expansion two weeks before battlefield & red dead 2 (; to get them dollars not mine yours.

Sending thoughts and prayers to destiny... and good vibes!!!
