Perhaps his heart is in the right place, and he can only do so much, but can Bungie pull through? Will the higher ups call more bad shots? MTX got abused. How will the writing and lore be treated?
Edit 2: Stohl apologizes but doesn’t clarify. More vagueness. Also, despite all the likes, Bungie mods have buried this post to hide the flack they’re getting. Going to repost this.

Lucas should have retained enough creative rights to keep the lore intact or handed that role over to his right hand man, Rick McCallum. But it was all wiped away for the sake of a cash grab and quick, churned out content who's sole purpose is to generate revenue. Same story here. Sad.

3 AntwortenI think Chris Barret is the only honest one who wants to fix this mess and not an arrogant ass like the rest of the staff at bungie (not all) but I truly think some have a god complex. The tweets from some are ridiculous, telling us about other games they are playing and nothing about destiny 2 and if you tweet them feedback about D2 they mute you. Who does that when you work for a company?

Because D2 is a hard reboot and they don't want to anything to do with D1. Except for whatever they can recycle into D2 and call it "new content." It's really frustrating. There was so much good shit wrapped up in those cards that would have been well worth the effort to expound upon.

Barrett is on an impossible mission...too bad he has to clean up all the shit that is constantly squatted on him and his small team. I say burn the whole Bungie staff to the ground except the Live Team and let them create Destiny 3 instead of fixing the unfixable. You don‘t need 1000 people pissing in one bowl, we already know that fact. The bigger your team gets, the worse the product will be, we already know this fact too.

3 AntwortenThis is all a giant middle finger to the lore community, the fact that they made that abundantly clear after we get Byf's amazing video just seems sketchy. Like they see that it's a good idea, so to counter, they say the lore is a joke and that the video was irrelevant in the process. The lore, in D1, mainly came from dead ghosts, fragments of hive mementos, SIVA clusters, things that can be trusted as sources for information. Unless you want to tell me, Ghosts lie, Hive texts for the Hive to read is a lie, SIVA data is just a bunch of nonsense, and comics, made by seemingly no care for the world and politics of the situations they depict, are canon? The comics read as a retelling of what a Guardian said about all of it to a civilian who made a comic about it. It's full of stereotypes for the classes and it gets known facts just wrong that we knew previously. -blam!- this, it's just dumb, why not say it's all canon, but new details can come out to say, "hey, maybe what you read in the lore about this one specific thing can be interpenetrated in multiple ways." not "no, it's dead, don't bother looking it up, we killed it, read our comics"
