Bored with Destiny? Waiting until Bungo let's you mass delete shaders a year from now? Waiting for all of the things you had in D1 to come back to D2 after 1-2 more paid expansions?
Have you played The Division lately, especially after Update 1.8? If you haven't, do yourself a favor and check it out. Yeah, I know; The Division was bad at launch, maybe even worse than D1. Every enemy was a massive bullet sponge and the endgame was terrible. It took a long time for the game to shape up. At release I paid for the Gold Edition, quit after 3-4 weeks and never touched it again until 10 days ago. I got burned.
Some of you are hoping Bungie transforms D2 into the game we were all expecting. Given a few years,
maybe they will. However, that miracle you're all hoping Bungie pulls off for D2 has already occurred for The Division. It's a completely different game from the one at launch, and there's so much endgame content that you literally won't know where to start once you get there.
-The story and dialogue? Actually aimed at adults, not children.
-Collectables. Miss collecting dead ghosts? The Division has hundreds of collectables, such as audio tapes, drone footage, phone calls, etc. that add to the lore and atmosphere of the game. Guess what? They're also in the game and accessible at any time after you've collected them. Meanwhile, Bungo could never figure out a way to incorporate the Grimoire.
-Micro-transactions? Not even a tiny bit as intrusive as D2. It's only for weapon and clothing skins, and guess what? 99% of it is virtually thrown at you as you play the game. The best looking gear is acquired in game, not in a store. It's how micro-transactions should be. You could never visit the in-game store and be perfectly fine. It's not shoved in your face like Eververse, it's actually put in a dark corner in your base that's out of the way. It's opposite to the approach of Bungo.
-Bullet sponges? Once you're well-geared, everything is easy to kill outside of bosses/hunters. Unlike Destiny, gear actually matters. Which brings me to the next point.
-Gear. You miss grinding for god rolls in D1? The Division will scratch that itch. Gear matters. You can get 10 sets of the same gloves, but they could all be different due to stat/level/armor rolls. Unlike Luke Smith, Division figured out how to make your 10th Better Devils matter.
-Recalibration. Did you finally get a particular weapon to drop, only to realize it's perfect in every way except for 1 talent? Good news: Division has a "recalibration" station, which let's you customize 1 stat/talent on your guns or armor.
-Appearance customization. The Division let's you change your character's face/tattoos/accessories at any time, for free. Give Bungo another couple of years and they'll sell you the option for $9.99 a pop. After you buy the $40 expansion it comes with, of course.
-Expansions. The Division's expansions are awesome, but also completely optional. You don't need them to participate in endgame or to get any of the gear. I highly recommend them, especially Underground after the latest revamp (equivalent to Destiny's Infinite Forest, but released over a year sooner and done 100 times better).
-Community engagement. Massive, the developer, holds weekly "State of the Game" videos for The Division. They not only listen to their playerbase, but they actually act on it. Unlike Bungie, it's not just lip service. The game has been transformed precisely because the developers communicate and engage with their playerbase. Now the game is seeing a resurgence due to those efforts.
Give the game a shot. You'd be doing yourself a disservice if you don't. I'm on Xbox and the playerbase is as lively as ever, and the same goes for the other two platforms. If you're on PC, the graphics are on the next level.

Haven't reinstalled yet been playing Witcher 3 and what not
-
Reinstalled it recently and picked up where I left off, bought the survival DLC yesterday, been loving it so far

14 Antworten1.8 is the game it should’ve been at launch. I think the grind for classified set pieces is a bit much though. Or at least, the only reliable way to really grind for them is pier 93 wave 10 resistance farm which gets old really fast. I’ll be happier when the loot table is opened up for the rest of the game. I haven’t been able to even come close to putting together a full classified build (I work a lot and missed the GEs, and I’ll miss the new one too) but I’ve had some pretty good success with Striker’s (3), D3FNC (1), Nomad (1), Ninjabike Messenger bag.
-
2 AntwortenThinking about giving it another chance after all this time. Would you recommend picking up where I left off or starting new? I completed the campaign and gathered all the collectibles but did hardly anything beyond that
-
I reinstalled it and I’m gonna play this weekend. I watched theradbrad play with the exotic mpx and I really want that gun.
-
The game runs buttery smooth on the 1X. Just a heads up if you thinking of getting it and have a 1X. I have the og x1 and the 1x and it is a night and day difference between the two.

Won’t come back until every Alex is wiped off the map.

Yup, been playing since the 1.8 update dropped. Yet I had taken part in the play test servers too so I haven't been gone for too long. They also had the season pass on sale around Christmas and I picked that up for $16. Way better RPG elements than Destiny, but why does Ubisoft hate First Person? The best games have the choice of using either first or third person views, and I really hope more games start including the option for both.
-
one of my group members has ignored us for the past two months because of the division i miss her ;c
-
2 AntwortenWe had 4 pages on clan members on D2. There were only ever 4 or 5 people on and 1 or 2 of them were usually playing something else. The clan switched back to the Division and now we have plenty of people to play with again.

26 AntwortenI’ll take Destiny and its near-perfect mechanics and gunplay over that clunky Ubisoft reskinned cookie-cutter trash any day of the week. The Division was fun(ish) when it released. It will never be my go-to game. The mechanics are awful and the gunplay is comical when compared to a proper AAA shooter like D2. I guess if you’re after loot, you have plenty to chase. I prefer crisp, predictable controls and top-notch gunplay.
-
2 AntwortenI picked it up cheap last week. Yes it feels very clunky and I'm not liking how the buttons show up on every bit of cover you can hide behind or jump over. Besides that I'm enjoying it. At the moment customisation seams endless. Majority of the players I come across are helpful (reviving me in the dead zone). I would also love it if more city's with different topography were available. For the first time since Destiny released I'm thinking about what I wanna play.
-
12 AntwortenYes and it's exactly the same as it was before.
-
5 AntwortenIt’s still a boring, clunky 3rd person mess
-
4 AntwortenI didn't read your shit, because, -blam!- the division. It took them 3 years to get it right, apparently. Boy that sounds familiar. Division 2 incoming. Games are garbage now.
-
24 Antwortenso you want to play a game that has been out for how many years, and still hasn't gotten it right, instead of destiny, that actually works, for the most part? did i get that right?
-
1 AntwortenI loved the division but it did get played out quick. I missed all the expansions. Haven’t played since b4 dlc dripped. I don’t get why Ubisoft gets so much hate n criticism when they actually make good games n at least “try” to make their games better. Bungie does the opposite pretty much. As OP said they act on the feedback “instead of the usual lip service”. Lol

Love how when one thing about a game is posted being amazing. Everyone does it. Like the warframe walls. “Have you played warframe?” “Warframe is amazing!!” “PLAY WARFRAME!” All these posts made day after day. Division will probably be the same lol.

They just wanna shoot aliens 😂

It's not bad. Undecided to buy the dlc or not.

3 AntwortenGot back into the division and I’m in love 😍

Yes I’m -blam!-ing loving it. Took 2 years off but have returned. Love the way it turned out

3 AntwortenI actually did just this over the holiday as was going cheap on ps store. Fantastic game. Ubisoft got there in the end again. Now if they can do the same for For Honor next year ...

It’s a fun game but I’m just bored of it right now.
