You know what'd happen if I cant do my job correctly? My pilot could die, my friends could die and I could as well. So to fix that, they'd fire me for not being able to do my job. In bungo's case, "lets just have eververse get us money because its too hard to make content".
Edit: lol at the people thinking it was a direct quote. Its called reading between the lines. It was said however during the taken king, but the fact destiny 2 is in this state shows they're proving this hasnt changed. My title quote came from reading between the lines. Quotes are also used to signify things in a sarcastic manner. I cannot wait for bungie to sue this journalist for slandering their production as you people state is not true even though the product they release clearly shows that they cannot keep up.

Why even make games when making content is to hard?
-
I mean it's harder than getting coffee for the real devs which these bungie interns were used to that make the game now.
All speculation of course...I don't know if they had it easier getting coffee or not

lol
You have put specific words in quotation marks, then attributed them to Bungie.
Quotes are also used to signify things in a sarcastic manner.
That is fine, or at least more acceptable, when in the context of other words around them, like you did in your first paragraph. It is clearer to the reader of your intent to make up fake news or add to your own confirmation bias or smear people based on things they haven't even said or play to the gallery ......by you using misquotation. It's not so fine in the title of a thread! That is the basis of what the discussion will be about..... yet it is a misquote ..... so of course the discussion will be crap and worthless as it is based on a lie.
Quotes are also used to signify things in a sarcastic manner
No they're not. They're used when you're quoting something word for word. You don't put subtext in quotes because you think it's important.

Bearbeitet von Joey Sav: 1/6/2018 12:58:28 AMWhile im pretty sure its much easier for them to make content now then it was with destiny 1 with the upgrades to the engine , i think with all the money they made from eververse when new stuff went in they didn't want to miss a penny of that money so they decided to put 98% of the rewards in a reward based game in there. Either way its not cool and its really made me resent bungie in a bad way i didn't think was possible especially after coming home with destiny 1 and seeing how little was there i still had faith they would make that right and they eventually did. I just don't know if i can let this one slide ever.

I honestly find it funny/odd on why they decided to make a new series that's suppose to last 10 years+ and like at the very beginning they just say they are out of ideas. I still have faith in them though. They made Halo lol

15 AntwortenWell, the difficulty to make content due to the engine has been mentioned since 2015:
It’s not uncommon for a game’s scope to reduce during development, but Bungie had a unique problem. People who worked on this project say that one of Bungie’s fundamental issues over the past few years has been the game’s engine, which the studio built from scratch alongside Destiny. Four sources pointed to Destiny’s technology—the tools they use to design levels, render graphics, and create content—as an inhibiting factor in the game’s development. “Let’s say a designer wants to go in and move a resource node two inches,” said one person familiar with the engine. “They go into the editor. First they have to load their map overnight. It takes eight hours to input their map overnight. They get [into the office] in the morning. If their importer didn’t fail, they open the map. It takes about 20 minutes to open. They go in and they move that node two feet. And then they’d do a 15-20 minute compile. Just to do a half-second change.” People who have worked with Destiny’s tech say the company is capable of powering incredible things behind the scenes, like player matchmaking. It’s also clear that Destiny is one of the best-looking video games ever made. But as a tool-set for designers, sources say, Destiny’s engine is subpar, and creating new maps and missions at Bungie can be grueling for developers.
https://kotaku.com/the-messy-true-story-behind-the-making-of-destiny-1737556731 At first my best guess on why they were releasing Destiny 2 instead of more expansions was that they wanted to switch to a more "developer friendly" engine. By now its evident that is not the case. Also, consider that the European Dead Zone was originally planned for Comet 1 (the code name for the first large expansion, which instead eventually became The Taken King), alongside Europa (one of Jupiter's moons), at a time when the Dreadnought was planned to be part of the vanilla game. Some of the earliest Destiny 1 videos/trailers show a some forest areas, which means Destiny 2 is using assets that had been in the work for Destiny 1 since 2013: https://youtu.be/EwOUi4JDC4o?t=220 In other words, I wouldn't expect to see another area anywhere as large anytime soon (if at all), and instead maps the size of Mercury might become the norm for future expansions. But let me provide another example. The bad reception of the game and the first 2 DLCs (to varying degrees) led Bungie to really put their backs into The Taken King, which originally was going to include not only the Dreadnought, but also new areas in Mars. In the end they reduced the scope of Comet 1 and focused on the Dreadnought. however, as far as we know that area was already in the original disc, as per an AMA in which a Bungie employee confirmed that the assets made for the original version of the game were all still in the disc, and the third part of said version fo the game taking place on the Dreadnought. In fact some of the earliest footage of the game showed a particular area that looks like the interior of the Dreadnought (the one with the Ogre an Thralls): https://youtu.be/Y1OjUWw43co?t=31 In other words, Bungie didn't make the Dreadnought map for The Taken King and neither did they managed to make/finish the new areas for Mars, with at least some seemingly recycled for Destiny 2: the Pyramidion was first rumored before Rise of Iron was formally announced and based on what we know now of the Pyramidion on Io, we can see how the Crossroads crucible map was a nod at it, appearing on its background. Furthermore, the area where the Crossroads map is located is called the "Lost Oasis", the same name of the area in Io that leads to the Pyramidion. We can assume that at the time the reboot for Destiny 2 was decided, the plans to add Pyramidion to Destiny 1 were scrapped and instead those assets were used for Destiny 2. Ultimately The Taken King largely focused on fixing the game itself, which was absolutely necessary, and also managed to add a lot of content, but this was likely thanks to (or rather at the cost of) not having to make a whole new map. So what new areas did Bungie actually add to Destiny 1 after launch? Well, thanks to players who used glitches to reach the Terminus before HoW came out, we know the Terminus did exist since launch, but it looked quite different from what we got to play in HoW, so that's an example of an area that do was altered from its original form. We also know that the Shores of Times crucible map was originally a PVE area in the first version of the game: https://www.destinypedia.com/File:QueenMission.jpg Quite possibly other areas were similarly adapted for other purposes. Incidentally this reminds me of some comments on the size of Mercury's patrol area, which suspected that it was a crucible map repurposed for patrol. That doesn't sound too far-fetched anymore now. In the end, I'm inclined to think that Rise of Iron was the only expansion for which Bungie actually created many new areas. However, it's worth noting that the name for what would have been the 4th small expansion, Forge of Gods, could have referred to the Devils Splicers and the Archon's Forge, where they sued SIVA to become machine gods themselves. That does make me question if perhaps some of the assets for Rise of Iron had also been in the works before the rebooted DLC plan was also scrapped. Now, considering that Bungie seems to going to focus on smaller expansions from now on and their new seasonal approach to the game, it's possible that there won't be any new Comet large expansions, and instead Bungie will try to keep releasing a small expansion every 3 months (season). Assuming they picked up the pace to deliver Destiny 3 in 2 years after Destiny 2 (September 2019), that could mean 7 small expansions would be released between both games. Cost wise, this would translate into 60 bucks for Destiny 2 and another 140 for 7 expansions, for a grand total of 200 for the whole package within 2 years, with Destiny 3 just around the corner with a potential price tag of another 60, Easily $260 in the almost the same time Destiny 1 released a game and 4 expansions costing $170. And that's not including micro transactions, which have become far more predatory with D2. Overall, I think Bungie's biggest problem isn't money, but time, and that isn't something that can be realistically addressed with an imposed tight schedule, not to mention having to divert resources for producing a new game (Destiny 3) at the same time, which is certainly not helping (specially when it means ditching the previous game and its content every time the new game releases). I would deem it safe to assume that we won't see any more large PVE maps until Destiny 3, unless they had some unused ones from a cancelled expansion which they can use (Europa from the original Comet 1, planned DLC 3: The Vex Void or DLC 4: Forge of Gods, etc.).

4:00 - 4:30 Making Content is hard we'll make money on EverVerse instead. Activision Said ok. Meaning it was bungies idea not even activisions who gets most of the flack. ^Death of the game

I would've been much more forgiving of Bungie if they hadn't made Eververse to make some quick greed bucks. The game in itself is alright, actually. The thing that puts me off, though, is Eververse. #RemoveEververse

Hey guys who like eververse, stop bumping the posts if you want them gone. All you are doing is giving fuel to the fire.

The problem is our ability to consume content is faster than the ability to make content.

Bearbeitet von Crunchyblack: 1/5/2018 5:52:20 PMIf i told my customers my job was too hard i wouldnt have a job very long. Bungie needs to learn customers dont pay for excuses they pay for results. Also if they planned to make money on eververs and then drip feed smaller content to the community making money instead on MTX...why the hell did i pay for a season pass?

Bearbeitet von vBLOODSHOTv48: 1/5/2018 4:52:02 PMYes, we have known about the poor editing system and system tools from d1 for quite a while now. However with a brand new game you should be able to fix that right? Isnt that why d2 got pushed back a year? So that it could be a really great game. Now its comming out that they pulled another destiny 1 and rush out another game If content is too hard to make why try to go back to the old content schedule for d2? Plus why keep using the top shelf game story on these small expansions? The iron lords and osiris where some of the biggest and best parts of lore in d1. I think that we got a short and incomplete story than what they deserved.
