I’ve really liked Star Wars since I first saw it when I was six. I’ve watched all the movies (yes even prequels shut up) dozens of times so I think I have some basis to judge the new movie on.
I really enjoyed it. I thought that the new direction they took the series was bold and unexpected, which was a nice surprise. I thought the reveal about Rey’s heritage was disappointing but a nice change from the usual “everything tied up just like I wanted it to” and ultimately left me wanting more.
Therefor, I think everyone who’s saying they want TLJ removed from canon needs to take a f****** chill pill. If there are any people who think this I respect your opinion, but I just want to know why people had such an extreme reaction to something that really doesn’t even matter
