From hype, to hope, to disappointment, to done.

Used to be one of "those guys" that figured Bungie would learn from their past mistakes and eventually release a complete, full experience based on what their own community has told them they wanted. Well it's been long enough. I'll no longer wait with anticipation over a destiny release. The only waiting I'll be doing is waiting to buy anything from bungie until it has been out for 3 months so I can figure out if that time, they actually got it right from the beginning. Too many extremely questionable design decisions. Too many inexplicable content omissions. Too many "secret" nerfs like the xp throttling that ABSOLUTELY was designed to drive revenue at the cost of transparency. Too many outright lies (like how all our original gear was supposedly destroyed by the cabal but magically multi tool and other survived) Too many mistakes like 3 of coins not working at all. Too little communication. Too little content. Lack of vision. Lack of follow through. Lack of polish. Lack of original content. Too many shortcuts (recycled maps, recycled enemies, smaller subclass trees). I had already paid for the season pass for D2, but have only brought myself to play 3 hours of the new DLC. You could probably give me Destiny 3 right now for free and I would still have very little interest in actually playing it. All in all destiny 2 deserves a 6/10 in reality, while it's potential remains off the charts. It's really pretty to look at and gunplay remains satisfying. Beyond that, there is simply disappointment after disappointment. And all of this is coming from a one time destiny die hard. I've gone from fanboy to fan boycott. And it's a shame because I would happily have continued to "throw my money at the screen" had bungie put in just a LITTLE more effort and taken a LITTLE bit of pride in their work instead of looking for the easiest (and cheapest) way to squeeze a few more bucks from their customers. Hey bungie, good luck with Destiny 3. Don't bother sending me promotional emails. Save your money on the hype trailers. You're gonna need all the funds you can get when you sell 30% of the amount of copies that you duped us all into buying the first two times around. Oh and good luck at that next shareholder's meeting Activision. Guardian, out.
