1. Is there any chance of the Destiny 1 weapon system; Primary, Special, Heavy, returning?
2. Is there any chance of getting back the ability to directly choose our Crucible game mode? (clash, rumble, Mayhem, etc)
3. Is there any chance of Crucible matches that aren't just 4v4 returning? (Doubles, 3v3, 6v6, etc)
4. Is there any chance of random perk rolls on all non-exotic and raid/trials weapons returning? (destiny 1 style)
5. Is there any chance of ever seeing PvE & PvP separated, so they can be balanced independently?
6. Is there any chance of Destiny 2 going back to a Destiny 1 feeling of power? (Faster TTK, faster pace of gameplay, feeling of being a powerful superhero)
7. Is there any chance of seeing Destiny 1 style subclass trees return, so that players have more freedom to customize their build/subclass?
8. Is there any chance of having Nightfall timers optional? (As in the timer expiring doesn’t end the Nightfall, maybe tie it to a challenge)
These are the most important questions that I would like answered by the dev team, but feel free to add to it in the comments.

EDIT2:I just want to take the time to say thanks to everyone that is up voting and commenting on this post. I’ve been on Bungie.net since 2004 and I’ve always been a Bungie fan and Destiny is my hobby, how I spend time with friends or just relax. I want to love Destiny 2 as much as I love Destiny 1 and that’s why I made the post. It really is a sigh of relief to see that so many others in the community want the same things that I do from the game, so if anyone has anything to add, let me know in the comments.
Thanks everyone.

My question is Is there any chance that Bungie will actually listen to the community? (And also add area chat to PC?)

1 AntwortenYeah we need hard questions answered.

10 Antworten(5.) World of craft never seperated pvp and pve. So why would Bungie do it? Would you do it, if was your decision and you weigh the cost? Do you think it would help or hurt Destiny at this time in Destiny?
-
Can't do that, it would make the game fun again.

3 AntwortenJust to speak on the TTK part of D2... If you're actually good at the game TTK doesn't matter. You can shred 2-4 players without needing any teammates around. I wish you and other players actually took the effort to get better.

2 AntwortenBump. Would love to see this addressed in this weeks “State of Destiny” or in TWAB. Especially things like 6v6, rumble, mayhem, and choice of PVP mode. If BUNGIE is going to refuse to put these back in the game, please tell us. Some of us “complainers” are hanging on with hope that these will come back. If they are not, we can leave the game, the forums, and you will have less of us to have to worry about... so everybody wins. Please answer these questions BUNGIE

Just here to see if bungie responded yet.. Of course not!

D2 (imo) is meant to appease the players who have no idea what they're doing. For example: subclass trees. It's been made less complicated for the 5 year olds so they don't have to worry about choosing the wrong combination of subclass options.
3. Is there any chance of Crucible matches that aren't just 4v4 returning? (Doubles, 3v3, 6v6, etc)
Totally agree with this post and specifically this question. Mind adding inferno to this one, OP? JeTs

They will NEVER answer these directly. Don't waste your time too much on this. You'll only end up being disappointed.

Bungie: “we neard your feedback and decided to make some changes. Players are now able to Reload while sprinting and we nerfed fusion rifles by 0.04%.
While I think the game now has the ability to do this (listen “between the lines” on some of the designer comments on the CR podcast about weapon tuning differences and available controls between PC and consoles) I doubt that Luke Smith will allow this because of their “desire” that the weapons act the same in both modes. Personally I think this is a bunch of hooey as guardians are different from PVE enemies so it can make sense that these weapons may act differently upon damaging them.
6. Is there any chance of Destiny 2 going back to a Destiny 1 feeling of power? (Faster TTK, faster pace of gameplay, feeling of being a powerful superhero)
I think this question is the crux of the issue that many D1 players are having with D2. We no longer FEEL THE POWER. If you think about it this is part of the reason you want many of the things in D1 to come back, so that it feels the same. I think that some of this is possible for Bungie to do on the PVE if they want to. They can do this by reducing the auto-leveling system that exists so that there is a wider discrepancy between my guardians power and the enemies that I am fighting. They can put in activities that let more guardians just relax, shoot things and FEEL THE POWER. They could put in more Daylight activities where Supers and class abilities constantly regenerate. On the PVP side it is a bit of a different story and that is not because of problems that exist in D2 but rather problems that were endemic in D1 crucible but that we got used to. For example, in the CR podcast one of the designers pointed out the TTK is barely longer in D2 than in D1 (I believe the number was 10ms is 1/100th of a second) which is less than one frame on a console so TTK really is not the problem (FYI - I personally have not verified the designers numbers but I find it hard to believe they would mis-report them when it is easy to verify them). So then, why does D2 PVP feel slower than D1? The designer speculated that the issue has to do with the fact that in D2’s 4v4 there are 33 percent less players on the map than in D1. Statistically this is huge because it reduces the chances of random encounters between enemies but it greatly enhances the effectiveness of team play because it reduces the number of attack surfaces that a team can be shot at. This reduces (not eliminate) spawn killing because there are places for team mates to spawn near their team mates rather than across a map (as often happened in D1) which lead to guardians running into enemy guardians before their own team mates. In D2 you have a greater chance of being able to reconnect to your team before encountering an enemy guardian. This is why the game play seems slower in D2 games. This also means though that one is less likely to be caught in a bad position in the game after spawning in D2 than D1, which could result in a “needless” death. The only way I currently see to bring the “quick gameplay” feeling to D2 is to have an 8 man rumble game type in the casual games. This would probably most closely resemble the D1 style of gameplay. Especially if they put a boost on the generation of Supers and class abilities. Side note: I should also point out that because of the fact that there are only 4 people (that are close to each other) on a team versus 6 that from a distance a sniper (in the right hands) could be very effective at taking out an entire team if there were still one shot kills. The same could be said if a quick guardian could get in their midst with a shotty. This is probably why the special slot was eliminated in D2 and specials were moved into the heavy slots, to give PVP teams a chance to not be instantly eliminated.
7. Is there any chance of seeing Destiny 1 style subclass trees return, so that players have more freedom to customize their build/subclass?
Here is another one that we agree on, but at the same time I understand Luke Smith’s issue that many Guardians did not fully understand why certain attributes should be run together and others might even conflict. I lay part of this D1 problem back at Bungie’s feet though as they really did not do a good job at explaining the attributes strength and weakness in D1. I think part of the reason is because they like guardians to discover things but sometimes they go overboard with this. They realized that they did not want to do this in D2 but instead of teaching us the strengths and weaknesses of the groups they just prepackaged them, like putting bumpers into bowling alley gutters when teaching a beginners bowling class. As a compromise for this I think the skill tree could remain the same to help casuals but as soon as the tree is filled out a new button appears with the word “Advanced”, which upon it’s pressing starts a tutorial quest which walks a guardian through the complete skill tree for that class. Upon the competition of this quest the guardians skill page then changes to one similar like the D1 page. One difference though is that there are four (maybe 5) different shaped buttons on the bottom row. The first two buttons are pre-programmed to select the first 2 default skill tree options. The second two buttons can be set by the guardian for quickly selecting between the skill tree option sets the guardian may want to run for different tasks. This could also allow for future additional skills (which a new training quest would have to be completed for so that they could be added to this page) to be added to the skill tree.
8. Is there any chance of having Nightfall timers optional? (As in the timer expiring doesn’t end the Nightfall, maybe tie it to a challenge)
I agree with you whole heartedly on this one. I also think it would be one of the easier things in this list to implement. I don’t think the answer is to wholeheartedly remove timers though as the RatKing quest depends on them and it would be wrong to prevent guardians from getting this exotic (though some guardians might say that this is doing them a favor). Instead I think that each week there should be two Nightfall’s that could be picked between. One would have the timers and the other one would have some other challenge that would create an equal difficulty (perhaps more ads, or ammo Famine, or create another task to do before getting through an area, perhaps with every death guardians are slowed down until everyone is revived, or ads do not stop spawning in until “X” number of headshot kills by each person on the team in an area, so many different options that could be applied). The first Nightfall completed per character would be the one that the Luminous Engram is awarded for but guardians should be able to run both to help others out.
1. Is there any chance of the Destiny 1 weapon system; Primary, Special, Heavy, returning?
From a programming point of view I suspect this would require a pretty good overhaul of the gaming code and would be a project that would take the studio over a year to do with little work on D3, so I doubt they would do it (It would be easier to bring back D1 since that is what most D1 players seem to want with requests like this). Personally I think a better compromise would be to add a special weapon slot to the other weapon slots so that Snipers/Shotguns/Fusion Rifles and do not have to compete with Rockets. The biggest question then is how to separate Special Ammo from Heavy Ammo. The addition of Special Ammo though will require a lot of rework on the PVP maps. Even this compromise though I doubt this is the best solution to what it sounds like you are looking for in D2 and will still require more work than Bungie can afford to back into D2. I will expound more on this this in response to #6.
2. Is there any chance of getting back the ability to directly choose our Crucible game mode? (clash, rumble, Mayhem, etc)
IMHO this should have been in D2 from the beginning. This should be something that is easy to implement but with the focus being on developing ranked PVP I doubt that much will be done on this until ranked PVP has been released. My reasoning for this is that with the dwindling participation currently in PVP I doubt that Bungie will want to further divide the PVP population into smaller groups because of the difficulty with matching players with good ping times, similar skills and group sizes. In fact, my preference is that they would create a singles only playlist since they seem to not be able to match groups of 3 or 4 with other groups of 3 or 4. Too many times I have been in objective “casual” games with 3 other single ransoms versus a sweaty group of 4. Not fun.
3. Is there any chance of Crucible matches that aren't just 4v4 returning? (Doubles, 3v3, 6v6, etc)
Doubles, maybe for Special Occasions. Threesomes, I doubt it, as I doubt they would see a big enough difference in game play between 3v3 and 4v4 to invest the work this. Besides with private matches coming you can now play your Raid fire-team in 3v3 either before or after the Raid. 6v6, well I think they have made it pretty clear that it is not going to happen. I don’t suggest that anyone hold their breath for it to happen. There are multiple reasons for this which designers have both mentioned and have alluded to in both articles and podcasts (the recent Crucible Radio podcasts with two of the game designers is quite pertinent to this). In brief let me hit the primary reason, the current PVP maps are too small for fair 6v6 games. I know it may not seem like it but they feel the maps would have to be larger (and from their explanation I agree, more on this in #6)
4. Is there any chance of random perk rolls on all non-exotic and raid/trials weapons returning? (destiny 1 style)
Not exactly like D1 but I think they are headed in this direction. However I do not think they are going to go far enough to make many hardcore players happy in that I will be surprised if they let us have significant control over the perks on the weapons that matter to us. They do not want god roll weapon configurations out there which make PVP and PVE balancing difficult. As much as we loved these weapons in D1 Like Smith did not. Hence we were forced to leave all of our VOG weapons behind when TTK came out. Even with this latest fiasco I don’t think he has changed.
