Maybe you guys at bungie are afraid to make a story that isnt safe? but honestly thats why I and many others loved the bungie games back in the day, because bungie made games 'they wanted to play' and more often than not that meant that the game was overly ambitious and somehow it worked, for example halo 2 and halo 3. PLEASE go back to taking risks!
I know that the developers at bungie are very smart people with lots of experience. But this isnt right.
I want the story that this old trailer promised many years ago. Mystery, Adventure, DANGER, Consequence, Uniqueness, LEGENDS. These are words i would like to use to describe destiny, however for destiny 2 i dont think i could apply a single one of these words to it.
The writing for D1 in the grimoire was fantastic, it was cryptic and answered your questions while asking more and also putting together larger pieces of an amazing puzzle. We got memorable events and characters too. The gameplay was miles better as well! Do you guys remember the Alpha Lupi Arg? that was phenominal! reminded me of the I love bees event back during halo 2.
We wanted a more complex version of Destiny 1, we wanted everything Destiny 1 was at the end of rise of iron but with a proper meaningful and intricate story with memorable events and characters. Sure the tower getting blown up and losing our light could be meaningful but it means nothing when we get our light back 15 mins later.. like what?
Nothing we do in this game actually matters.
Im sure you guys at bungie can do better but are extremely limited in someway or form because of trying to play everything so safe after what happened with the production of D1.
Im very very close to uninstalling destiny 2 and never buying another bungie game again.. This is coming from someone who grew up on halo from the age of 4
Become legend?... does that tag mean anything to anyone anymore?
Become Average is what D2 is..
smh
edit-
I will like to say though that sound design, art direction, music and gameplay mechanics as in the shooting are ALL on point! I still love the music, just not the direction of the story and lots of the dumbed down gameplay features or even the AI itself as it poses no challenge.

4 AntwortenNothing about any halo story was a risk, more mature yes, but it was every sci-fi troupe and cliche all rolled in to one. It was above average but far from risky or groundbreaking

<3<3<3 Nailed it. They totally dropped the ball. I've never seen a bigger abortion of creative potential.

2 AntwortenI couldn’t have put it better!! Thank you!!! THIS is what is missing from D2, THIS is what the majority want back. Bring back the Lore, grimoire, dead ghosts because you failed at putting it “in game”. Give us a codex for the scans, so we can go and read them again easily. Let us know who these different enemies we encounter (VIP targets) on different planets ARE. Why they are there. Hide a few secrets for the community to unravel along the way, secrets that MEAN something!!!

Doesn't matter what we wanted. Two very plausible reasons why D2 turned out the way it did: 1. They made it for those who left before TDB, you know, the people who thought it sucked it and left. 2. They are incapable or simply uninterested in making a deep, complex game with meaningful progression.
