You people have become so spoiled by game developers. You would've hated Halo.

Halo was far better than Destiny by a long shot.

I’m sure you’re smart enough to see why the two games don’t fit into the same situation at all. That’s a blatant oversimplification that ignores expectations and increases in technology.
-
Not really. The essential problem I'm seeing is that Bungie got a bunch of people hooked on dopamine from vanilla D1, & these people are struggling to find a new game to play because they've forgotten how to play for fun.
-
Fun is relative. D2 provides a lacking experience in many ways when compared to d1. D1 was a fundamentally promising game that had potential that people were willing to wait for. It was improved over the course of its lifespan in many ways. D2, as a sequel, was expected to build on the improvements and provide an equal, if not immediately better, game. What we got was an overcorrected version of vanilla that ignores years of progression. People grew to expect an improving game, and they got used to the improvements. Bungie gave us regression and took away the improvements that were fixing the game. They defied expectations, and not in a good way.

Halo sucked
-
I vehemently disagree, but +1 for your consistency.
You people have become so spoiled by game developers. You would've hated Halo.
Halo isn’t and never was a looter-mmo game. Your argument is invalid. We expect the looter to actually have a reason to grind loot. There is none.
-
a) "looter" is a made up genre. b) Destiny isn't a MMO.
a) "looter" is a made up genre. b) Destiny isn't a MMO.
Looter isn’t a made up genre And It is an MMO what the heck are you talking about.

https://www.gamespot.com/articles/is-destiny-an-mmo-bungie-weighs-in/1100-6416234/ article from 2013 and this:
"Destiny's style has been described as a first-person shooter that incorporates role-playing and massively multiplayer online game (MMO) elements, but Bungie has avoided defining Destiny as a traditional MMO game."
You mean besides collecting loot?

Bearbeitet von MySilentGas: 11/7/2017 8:13:27 PMWhat Halo game did you hate? I really enjoyed them , the ones bungie did except one.
-
Lol I didn't hate any of them. I was alluding to the fact that back in my day (old man voice), we played Bungie shooters for fun, & not to chase rewards.
-
Well Destiny is advertised as a game in which you shoot aliens and collect sweet loot.
-
you know the "there will be loot" thing is an jab at the players that just want stuff? the trailer shows 2 types of players. Zavala gives an inspiring speech about saving the city and all that, & in Cayde's speech he can't even remember the enemies name. Zavala finishes and the troops cheer, ready to save the world. Cayde finishes and they stare at him slack jawed and clueless. Cayde has to tell them there will be "loot" just to motivate them. TLDR: Zavala speaks to the players that care about the world they are playing in. Cayde speaks to the players that just want stuff.

I'm 44 so I started on magnavox home console PONG. Now I understand.Halo 3 really changed console FPS for myself because of Forge endless map and game play options , at that time it made the pvp feel endless. If you like pve , have you played the H5 firefight? Eight man fire team is fun .
-
I'm 26, so you've got me beat lol I actually didn't buy Halo 5 because they removed split screen play, & I have no desire to play a Halo game without the couch co-op experience.
-
I can understand that .
-
That was then. This is a whole new (sub) genre, where reward acquisition is part of the core aspect and draw of the game.
-
Exactly.
-
Um I played halo like a job. Halo had a Pvp that was actually good. Had a addictive ranking system. Had a fun story. So stfu with this dumb ass comment
-
Yeah I liked them too.
-
No, we've matured. Only foolish, dull minded individuals remain playing this travesty of a game.
-
Or people that like games that you don't. Enjoy the superiority complex though.
