Honestly, I just do not see the point of doing it. With all of the armor being cosmetic only (no raid-specific perks) and some of the weapons being obtainable from Hawthorne, oh and lets not forget there being no "Prestige" weapons, I just do not see the point in doing it.
You can look at the past raids where we had weapons like Fatebringer, Vex Mythoclast, Genesis Chain, and Black Hammer. Along with great looking gear with RAID-SPECIFIC PERKS and it really shows how lackluster the Leviathan is in comparison. Ah, and the lack of bosses really kills the hype for me as well. Where we could've had a colosseum section where we face hordes of cabal and their hounds to test our might and impress Calus, we were completing puzzles. What happened there? Why did we go from the occasional puzzles that lead to a boss section in Destiny 1, to a raid full of puzzles and ONE boss? But these are just my opinions tbh.
Three things I hope Bungie takes into consideration into the future:
- Prestige raids should have special weapons and armor that are only obtainable within the raid with perks that can not only help in the raid, but in other activities (I.e. more heavy ammo dropping from cabal)
- More boss sections, IMO there should not be more puzzles than bosses. Extra puzzles can instead be used in finding hidden loot and potentially a raid exotic (similar to Outbreak Prime).
- Normal Raids should not have revive tokens. That should be kept for prestige mode specifically. Also there should not be a timer to revive someone, the only good this does is show who is the weakest link and who to kick. Member when you could be the last alive and could just barely complete the encounter? I member.
TL;DR: The raid is not as fun as the past ones, and its "prestige" version has little to no incentives for completing it. IMO
EDIT: Was not expecting to get this much attention tbh. Thanks everyone for the feedback!
EDIT 2: Lul I figured the TLDR was long so I made a smaller one.
EDIT (FINAL): Alright, I keep seeing people saying I should run the raid first before I make an opinion on it. I'm sorry, what part of "I do not see a point in doing it" are you unable to comprehend? I have done every raid in Destiny 1 and after watching numerous Youtubers and streamers run the raid (including the underbelly part) I legitimately do not see the point in doing it at all. Am I suddenly not allowed an opinion if I don't do X because you said so? LOL If that invalidates my opinion for you then so be it. Just know that others who have done the raid share this opinion as well.

The only reason I completed the raid was for the achievement. Simple as that. I watched numerous videos on the raid and said “they -blam!-ed up the raid as well!? Guess I won’t do it” but then it was the only achievement I didn’t have and that ate away at me for a few days before I finally said screw it. I joined my clan mates, an hour later we beat it and when I got the achievement I was content but I did realize that all those youtubers were right, the raid sucks donkey dick.

5 AntwortenI always considered D1 raid's loot to be more for looks than anything. Why? Because all the those specific perks that were only on the raid loot didn't matter. Yeah they were nice but they were not needed. And honestly, I don't really see a difference between bosses and puzzle sections of a raid. Bosses are puzzles in a raid, the bosses are just there to have a Target after the puzzle is complete. And yes your opinion is of less value because you actually haven't completed the raid no matter what you think or say.

I have no interest in the entire game

When I realized the Raid had 0 Raid specific gear that was worth the grind and that I had the ability to reach max level without the raid, my desire to raid vanished. Once the point in spending multiple hours completing an activity that doesn't have valuable rewards?

This Raid is cool but it’ll never be as amazing where everyone such as casual, both casual and hardcore, and lastly hardcore players can play Vault of Glass. Vault of Glass was amazing and yeah. #Dab on the LoLs

I never ran it....and im just as high as the people that have. I use to do raids all the time back in the day...just stopped.

Is that the place with the treasure chests full of NO treasure?

2 AntwortenI waited until the world's first was completed, watched vids on each section, and then laughed at the idiocy of the thing. Now, if the gear had some perks that were relevant or the guns were better due to it being so called " end game", then maybe. But as it is now, not worth the time.

6 AntwortenFrom a guy who has 300+ D1 raid clears as purely a PuG raid leader, I have not done the Leviathan yet, nor do I have an intention to.

No interest and absolutely no point in doing it. The game is boring as hell as it is. Doing the Raid won't make the game any better...
-
Same dude. I used to love doing Destiny raids. Hell, I wasn't even a big fan of Kings Fall but even with that at least I felt there was a drive to get that gear. There's just no point at all to do Leviathan raid. Remember the D1 raids- if someone on the team died it wasn't an end all for the encounter. You'd move forward, wait for the timer to come down, revive them, and boom back up to full strength. Now with the Leviathan raid if someone dies it throws off the entire mechanic of whatever part you're at. Which will cause a chaotic frenzy of people dying one by one. I just.....I just can't.

7 Antworten400+ D1 Raid clears, some reason this raid doesn't motivate me at all.

I went in to the raid one time and said -blam!- that. But I do have the raid scout, auto, sword, and rocket launcher lol Go clan

I just got the pulse from the clan engram. No, I wont be doing the any raid time soon. No incentive :(

I have completed normal leviathan just as many times as i ever did VoG on all its modes together, but i will probably never do prestige mode because of its uselessness. Levi has its problems, but is it really that important to have a big block of textures that barely moves to shoot at? cause thats all a boss is. What makes every boss fight unique and interesting are the mechanics or "puzzles' that surround the boss. For example, the warpriest fight would have nothing changed if you removed the warpriest and instead shot at the taken orb above him or the door behind him.

9 AntwortenLeviathan is easily the worst raid theyve done. I have completions on every Raid to date on hard/challenge mode.....but this......this is an abomonation. Bring back Raid perks on weapons. 'prestige' and Challenge rewards Emblems and shaders? Seriously. Come on Bungie. Remove token system - Give us boss drops. Bring back checkpoints. Besides those disastorous decisions its far too mechanical and by far the worst raid yet.

22 AntwortenBearbeitet von Qeylis: 11/7/2017 8:01:53 PMLet's take a look at how the community votes when asked about which raids are best. VoG: Always wins in a landslide. It also had the best gear by far. CE: Usually wins second place. It has the second best gear. MWr: Sometimes third, sometimes second place. It had one of the best raid weapons. KF: Usually fourth, sometimes third. It had pretty bad gear, but the mechanics of the raid were fun. Leviathan: Always last. It has no good gear at all. You get tokens, and Hawthorne will give you the stuff without doing the raid. Did you already see the point I'm trying to prove? People like raids that have good gear. They don't like raids that have bad gear. Make the gear worth getting, and people will hardly notice if the raid is bad. People want fun to use weapons and interesting armor. We will chase these things forever, even in a bad raid. And if the gear is good enough, we might even be convinced that a bad raid was actually good. But if the gear is bad, the raid is bad, no matter how good it was. Edit: MWr is supposed to be Wrath of the Machines. The abbreviation for that should be WotM. I always get it mixed up with Machine Wrath, the PoE activity. I am aware of the error, but I will not fix it because people have already commented about it.

1 AntwortenI would love to do the raid, I refuse to use 3rd party sites/apps to make it possible. Thus I must consign myself to having no interest in the raid. And since they took this road again, I have no interest in ever buying any of the DLC either as a result.

This raid is too much about mechanics.

People still do the raid?

I don't care about the revive tokens but the raid is so bland in number 2. Half the steps are boring and don't even involve any min boss battles or any use of the underbelly. I enjoyed all the year one raids but leviathan has been a massive disappointment.
