Honestly, I just do not see the point of doing it. With all of the armor being cosmetic only (no raid-specific perks) and some of the weapons being obtainable from Hawthorne, oh and lets not forget there being no "Prestige" weapons, I just do not see the point in doing it.
You can look at the past raids where we had weapons like Fatebringer, Vex Mythoclast, Genesis Chain, and Black Hammer. Along with great looking gear with RAID-SPECIFIC PERKS and it really shows how lackluster the Leviathan is in comparison. Ah, and the lack of bosses really kills the hype for me as well. Where we could've had a colosseum section where we face hordes of cabal and their hounds to test our might and impress Calus, we were completing puzzles. What happened there? Why did we go from the occasional puzzles that lead to a boss section in Destiny 1, to a raid full of puzzles and ONE boss? But these are just my opinions tbh.
Three things I hope Bungie takes into consideration into the future:
- Prestige raids should have special weapons and armor that are only obtainable within the raid with perks that can not only help in the raid, but in other activities (I.e. more heavy ammo dropping from cabal)
- More boss sections, IMO there should not be more puzzles than bosses. Extra puzzles can instead be used in finding hidden loot and potentially a raid exotic (similar to Outbreak Prime).
- Normal Raids should not have revive tokens. That should be kept for prestige mode specifically. Also there should not be a timer to revive someone, the only good this does is show who is the weakest link and who to kick. Member when you could be the last alive and could just barely complete the encounter? I member.
TL;DR: The raid is not as fun as the past ones, and its "prestige" version has little to no incentives for completing it. IMO
EDIT: Was not expecting to get this much attention tbh. Thanks everyone for the feedback!
EDIT 2: Lul I figured the TLDR was long so I made a smaller one.
EDIT (FINAL): Alright, I keep seeing people saying I should run the raid first before I make an opinion on it. I'm sorry, what part of "I do not see a point in doing it" are you unable to comprehend? I have done every raid in Destiny 1 and after watching numerous Youtubers and streamers run the raid (including the underbelly part) I legitimately do not see the point in doing it at all. Am I suddenly not allowed an opinion if I don't do X because you said so? LOL If that invalidates my opinion for you then so be it. Just know that others who have done the raid share this opinion as well.

Bring back challenging raid specific exotics, and more people would do the raid. That is all.

To be honest, I only have three raid completions and the reason that is is because I never do the raid. The times I do, It's just not very exciting and after the first completion or two (and with good RNG) you'll most likely have most of the raid weapons which, only two or three of them are actually worth it and when it comes to armor, it's not worth even getting a set of raid armor because you can just get the shader and put it on weapons and armor you already have. At the end of the day, you either like the raid or you don't. I personally don't hate the raid and I actually find it interesting. My main issue is just the loot system. Fix that and maybe change a few of the raid weapons here and there and I'll do the raid every week.
-
I got the full set of armor so I’m done unless my friends need help
-
The what?
-
I've done it once. Got the Hunter helm, I'm good. The weapons I can just get from the Clan engrams
-
Good points overall. The rewards are trash. I think this raid (extended strike?) is fun and relatively easy overall. We run it weekly regardless of the loot. Heck when it comes to loot the whole game is a mess. I've been sitting on the same gear for weeks. Without additional perks you really don't have a lot to choose from. Everything is cosmetic.

10 AntwortenYou should do the raid because you want to do the raid, not because it gives you gear to lord over other players. Bungie got that bit *exactly* right.
-
Yepp, -Bad loot, meaning armors are useless, and most of the weapons are bad, for a few exceptions. -Bad drop rate, you could finish the raid with 1 drop and just tokens... -The raid itself is not that fun, only one boss fight -The loot is ugly -The raid's aesthetics are really ugly
-
I have 0 interest in this raid, I already don't care much for the cabal, they're the least interesting race imo. In addition to this, I know that the raid is going to be unrewarding and I'm not going to go into the raid hoping for something to drop only to get burned by tokens. Even with the token system as broken as it is, I can deal with it for some activities, but to have the raid under that same token system is just downright dumb. I'm not going to invest hours into the raid, just to get tokens to pass into a vendor just to get something I already have or something I don't want. Especially where the raid gear doesn't even have any benefits or unique raid perks other than looking different.

6 AntwortenBearbeitet von Kingsix67: 11/8/2017 4:10:06 PMTL;DR: OP is upset because he never ran the raid and justifies it with his opinion that its not worth it because he wants a "special reward" that makes him stand out because he is not all that special. He doesn't even have a +300 character yet but he knows the raid is not worth it. Hope i saved everyone time so we can do something productive on forums besides complain about things we don't understand.

The whole token system ruined it for me, not to mention the fact that normal/ prestige give the same exact loot with no light difference, its a joke. Unless you really want the full prestige set. Lets not mention the bullshit mechanics that are amplified by 100 in the prestige version. Not to mention the challenge modes. I feel like they designed the raid the way they did so people who don’t run it would be alienated. You run normal for the gear and prestige for the bragging rights, nothing more. Back in d1 if you wanted to be max light( which is also pointless) you had to run the hard mode versions of the raid. Now its pointless.

Haven`t played it and probably never will. My clan has only played it twice since launch.
-
I agree..Nerf fusion rifles,JK😅
-
Totally agree, by removing perks that pertained to the raid on raid gear it pretty much defeated the purpose of raid gear all together Sure it looks cool but that’s not what’s important it’s the perks that the gear gives you. And if not on armor why not weapons? The raid weapons are literally regular old weapons with a fancy model and color scheme I hope in future expansions they bring back raid gear with raid bonuses otherwise I see very little incentive to do the raid imo

9 AntwortenDon't care about rewards, I play it for the fun. What happened to enjoying gaming? I don't need a reward as an incentive, I honestly don't understand that mindset.
-
Yes. A shite raid with shite rewards
-
Thousands.

I wonder when bungie did a preview of the raid before add it in the game they said "Oh boy that is a great raid the player are gonna LOVE IT" Or they said "-blam!- it we don't have anything better but they already preoder the game..so yeah -blam!- it"
-
3 AntwortenZero interest. During D1 when a new raid came out, as soon as my team finished it the first time we'd jump straight back in to get our other characters through. When we completed Leviathan we were all "-blam!- this, not doing this shit again". I completed hundreds of raids during D1 and raiding was the one thing that kept bringing me back to Destiny. This raid's a joke and just not worth the effort.

1 AntwortenWas excited to get the full raid gear set for my hunter. Tried all the pieces on at once and it’s all mobility. Even if I added mods for resilience and recovery to each piece it would still be too low to use. Wtf am I supposed to do with that?
-
1 AntwortenIm a yr 1 player and I'm more interested in FINALLY doing the Aksis raid for once, than the Leviathan raid lol.
-
I'm a level 305 Warlock...305 Hunter...300 Titan and have not even been in a raid as of yet "That's Pitiful"
-
Killing calus then finding out there was a million more was hard to take
-
I think the prestige is more fun than the normal mode. But I like challenging things.
-
I don't know why, but this raid does not appeal to me at all. In D1 I completed at least 75 of each raid, with the leviathan i'm at 10 and don't see it go beyond 20 any time soon.

1 AntwortenIt's also overly complex to learn for 0 pay off. It's a bad raid and Bungie should feel bad that they have learned literally nothing from their own game Destiny 1.
