I made a survey regarding Destiny 2 and I was hoping that everyone could find some time to participate. It's pretty short (13 questions) and should only take 2-3 minutes of your time to complete.
All results are visible after completing the survey.
Thank you in advance. It's appreciated.
Edit: I'll post this in a separate thread as well, but...

The survey is still currently ongoing, however the current sample size is large enough to allow for viable analysis.
While I have yet to complete a full analysis of the data, and draft a write up, I would like to share some of the initial cross-sections of the data, as well as share the data itself.
You can download the data yourself in JSON format here:

Initial Cross-section charts are available to view here.
Survey results are available to view here but require that you have completed the survey to view them.
As of writing this post, 3944 guardians have supplied their input, which is a viable sample size to predict the views of a population of 3,000,000 players, with a 2.5% margin of error and 99% confidence. link

Interesting! Not surprised that the campaign and public events were among ‘favorite’ activities and that 4v4 and lack of ‘rolls’ was least favorites I hope Bungie is reading this. I know they have their own data, but it seeks like they ‘see what they want to see’ and draw conclusions that do not concur with the community

I posted a new survey, with more comprehensive coverage of issues, that supports multiple choice answers. You can see my post about it here or you can directly take the survey here.

3 AntwortenYour site is brilliant. You are very committed to this community. Thanks for this. When I took it the result tables indicated 3923 people had taken it. Do you think it would be possible to tailor it a bit further and make questions with multible possible answers, well, with multiple choice ? I an thinking tick boxes for questions #11 and such. Also, in your effort to stay unbiased, you did not include possible answers that are not « in game options » but still « game related ». For example, what I would have liked to answer to what is the thing that miss... -> the social aspect. « Playing with my friend » etc. I really enjoyed this positive criticism.

2 AntwortenBearbeitet von ODSTrooper: 11/7/2017 1:03:54 PMI would first of all like too see the return of random rolls/perks for gear, as this provided much in terms of replayability. I feel Destiny 2 is catering too much towards players more casual than I and likely many others. Also I would bring back 6v6 pvp, as exclusively 4v4 annoys me. More gamemodes, as I enjoyed playing rumble, and mayhem at times. I honestly miss Destiny 1s crucible a lot, I loved the diverse options of weapons available and was disappointed in leaving behind all my gear. By comparison, Destiny 2 is certainly lacking in appealing weapons and I do hope this situation improves. (Among my favorite weapons from the original launch up until now included: Vex Mythoclast, Gjallarhorn, and without any shame I would have to say Thorn had to be one of my alltime favorites :), along with Efrideet's Spear also making for some fun times (not for my enemies i'm sure), Icebreaker, Suros Regime (was also one of my most used), Red Death, Fatebringer, Black Hammer, conspiracy-theory, 1000-yard stare, vision of confluence, Praedyth's Revenge, there were many, many more). I will also admit lol that I was pretty fond of shotguns and snipers despite all the hate they drew, but I have to say those times were a lot more fun than what currently is available. More and (better) exotics, some are honestly quite poor choices (increased sidearm reload and ready speed seriously? Or the 'new' sunbreaker gauntlets). Anyways I think that is enough, I will say that your survey is thorough. However I wouldn't have minded the option to "Select all that Apply" for some of the questions.

1 AntwortenI took your poll, but on some of the questions like "What would you bring back from D1" or "What do you like or not like about D2", it would be nice to choose multiple selections instead of just one radio button. Maybe do check boxes on some of these questions to allow multiple answers.
3944 guardians have supplied their input, which is a viable sample size to predict the views of a population of 3,000,000 players
No its absolutly not. Yes 4000 is a good number but thats not enough. They have to be a good representation of the players. This must be very heavy with the players who visit the forum or redit or wherever else you have posted this. And i assume you have no proof that they represent the average player. So what you got here is at best a good representation of people who find this and then takes the time to fill it out. Not the same as good result for entire player pool. Still interesting but dont be fooled by tilted data.

Bearbeitet von ASapUchihaSandle: 11/8/2017 4:25:50 PMI'm one of these so called "Guardians" that took the survey, but please dont refer to me as such. I've since left that life behind, ghost and all. Just call me "Michael" now. so next time it should state "As of writing this post, 3944 guardians and "Michael" have supplied their input." Thanks

4 AntwortenNice work, Bungle are you looking? This is how you work if you want to make games your customers will play.

1 AntwortenIts very interesting looking at the results of voting in progress. I was actually really shocked to see a lot of people never played d1.

this survey does not work. i would change everything about d2. everything. the game cannot be fixed. it just cannot. their design decisions were completely wrong. the only fix is to add a FREE dlc expansion to d1 and pretend d2 never happened.

Nice work, thank you for this.

3 AntwortenAs much as I like the survey , I think asking for all of Destiny 1 content is a bit much (I almost clicked on it before thinking it thru). In theory that would be great , but it was maxing out the short term random memory of the consoles as it was. That is why the Gear Vault was never expanded a second time , there wasn't enough RAM available. If you add all of Destiny 1 into Destiny 2 then that's all you are likely to get. I could see the more popular raids and strikes returning but all of the content is overkill , and would kill any future development of Destiny 2.

3 AntwortenReally? I expected more people to vote for armor perks to return. Seriously nobody misses the "extra ammo for x weapon" or "faster reload speed with x weapon class" (stacking with mods of course) or "increased armor when using x subclass / take less x elemental damage"? How about "melee kills drop orbs" or faster melee or farther grenade throw? I really miss armor having more of a point than simple stat changes.

Great job man

As the survey says, alot of people really want randomized weapon rolls back. Please bungie bring them back.

Good survey very professional!

It seems like most of the people who took this poll might as well play D1 for good. The games at this point are too different in terms of vision and economy.

4 AntwortenDon't know why you included Bounties as an option. Challenges are the new bounties. Only difference is that you have to be in the activity to view them which needs to change. I viewed the results after the poll and am a bit worried for the community. The top reasons at the time I viewed it seemed to be Random rolls, and 4v4. And I have to question the just bring everything from D1 option. Makes the poll seems skewed to me. I don't know why people are stuck on random rolls when IMO the far bigger issue is the loot and progression system and the lack of it. The hardcore or semi-hardcore as most of us seem to identify, are leaving because of the lack of it more than anything. Everyone that says "there's nothing to do" or "no reason to play," that's what they're referring to. We used to have to run the raids, trials, IB, and do NF's to reach max light, now called power. Now you can get there by doing 5 heroic pubs a week and around 5ish crucible matches. Not to mention that the endgame loot, looking at you raid and trials, is purely cosmetic. And the weapons from it, while some are quite good, are overall just ones with different perks some of which are also good, but the stats just aren't there still. So unless you enjoy the encounters or want to look amazing no one is pushed to complete the activities and has no interest. That's a much bigger issue that a random vs. fixed roll. For that matter I'd just like to see a much more robust mod system. Anyway addressing loot and progression, the abundance of and lack respectively, is what I think the biggest fault is. It's something that will affect the entire game in a much more positive way if adjusted. It's also the reason my clan and other friends that play all quit. People need a goal to reach that's not handed out and want to be able to rep their accomplishments and have others know how they got there.
