Has anyone else noticed this in the story (it's seriously bothering me)?
Twice now the Ghost has acted like it's never heard of or seen things that are blatant cannon in Destiny 1.
First it was "What the Taken?" --- Seriously? We fought a TON of them. We killed the Taken King???
Now I'm at the point that it just said "What's a Warmind?". You've got to be kidding me.....I'm supposed to be ME from Destiny 1.
I get that you have to have a way to introduce these things to players who have never played Destiny 1, but they didn't do this obvious "I've never seen this" to the Cabal, Vex or Hive....so why was the writing built to make it as if you never ran into this stuff in Destiny 1????

I’m on my same account and platform (x bone) and I had no prompts or anything to carry over characters but I still beat EVERYTHING from D1 THREE TIMES and I got the dimentia ghost. I’m more upset than I should be but still. I want the dialogue I deserve. I’ve heard there’s a bug?

5 AntwortenI think what bothers me most is that Saladin acts like RoI never happened. He acts like I've never played iron banner before. Same for Shaxx. I don't know it just bothers me. Bungo please have mercy.

2 AntwortenActually, thats where youre wrong. The ghost knows about everything that happened. If you are on one of your migrated characters from d1 that completed most of the d1 activities and missions, ghost and other characters will know what is going on. For instance, when you first meet shaxx, he will say "Ah, saladin's young wolf." Or, when you get to Titan and ghost talks about the hive ritual, he will mention eris instead of ikora. BUT, this will only happen if you are on a veteran character. Another instance is the taken, as you mentioned. On a veteran character, ghost will ask why the taken are still active because oryx is dead. If you decided you didn't like your characters hair, or wanted to change their eyes, or their race, then that is no longer your migrated veteran character, it is a brand new character, and you will get the dialogue for new players, not the veteran dialogue

Are you using your old account?!? It knows if you are!

If you have an old account then it knows

Veteran dialogue is what you're seeking

2 AntwortenBungie needs to give us the Dink. Dinklage would remember, miss that little light.

2 AntwortenBearbeitet von Disciple4Christ4: 10/29/2017 12:00:26 AMIf you carried over your d1 account from the previous platform, you get different dialogue than those who didn't play D1. There's a YouTube video on Veteran/Noob dialogue differences. For ex. If you played D1, ghost alerts ikora that the taken are there. If you didn't play D1, ghost asks ikora what it is.

1 AntwortenI noticed some of the dialog between ghost and some of the other characters is screwed up The savunas song strike comes to mind
-
For Destiny 1 Vets who migrated to PC like myself, it really sucks getting screwed over completely. My little head canon to cope is that after losing the light and taking that giant fall, we have some amnesia.

2 AntwortenBearbeitet von Kahliden: 10/28/2017 10:57:17 PMIt doesn't say things like that if you aren't playing on an account that was carried over from D1 On PC it will only say the noob ghost voice lines because there isn't any accounts to carry over. Ex: instead of saying "what's the taken" he says "It's the taken!", instead of saying "what's a warmind?" He says "Ikora, is there a warmind on Io?" Which makes sense because we've never been to Io and don't know much about warminds in terms of numbers, locations, etc. Granted if you're playing a strike with a noob and they walk into an area first you will get the noob voice lines and vice versa
-
4 AntwortenThose lines are changed if youre playing D2 with the same account you played D1 on
-
They haven't used veteran lines on the PC version, as your PS4/Xbox account doesn't carry over to PC - they're separate platforms with separate databases. The same will happen if you change console platform.

I noticed (I think it was Ikora) saying one day you may get to meet Eris Morn...

I hate that stupid ghost. DINKLEBOT!!!

1 AntwortenBearbeitet von Arsenic: 10/28/2017 3:04:30 PMIt's Veteran account vs New account. A veteran account gets a few lines that acknowledge this, for example when you first see a Fallen in D2 the Ghost will say something about not recognizing this House instead of explaining what the Fallen are. If you're on PC, we currently cannot get these Veteran line but a few of us are trying to push for a option to turn them on. Feel free to head over to that thread if you play PC and help us try to get noticed by Bungo!
