Edit: I get it. No one adds an edit before the post but god damn, Bungie just covered most of the sore topics left in D2.
New systems and rewards to give our most engaged players additional, optional pursuits.
Better incentives for players who complete challenging Prestige activities.
Better rewards and replay value for strikes, adventures, and Lost Sectors.
Private matches for the competitive community (we are targeting early 2018).
Crucible tuning like adjusted Supremacy scoring and better spawning rules.
Better incentives for completing Crucible matches (and penalties for quitting competitive games).
Continued improvements to Iron Banner and Faction Rallies, including uniqueness of rewards.
Changes to make the mod economy more interesting and impactful.
Ongoing improvements to Exotics, including adjustments to reduce instances of duplication.
New ways to spend surplus currency and materials (looking at you Legendary Shards).
An emote interface that allows players to equip Salty, Spicy Ramen, Six Shooter, and Flip Out all at the same time.
I wonder how many people will find a way to spin this negatively despite this being a clear example of the Devs listening.
Seriously.
Everyone ranting and raving about D1 being so much better.
What I remember is the masses complaining that getting top gear and weapons was to hard.
I can't get thorn because of the quest. I can't go flawless because it's to hard. I can't beat challenge or hard mode because it's too hard.
Etc.
Remember when D1 at launch was the biggest let down because you played 80% during the beta and Bungie had to rewrite the story? Remember when getting loot sucked because your legendary engrams turned blue?
Yet... D2 is worse because it's too rewarding?
In all reality.. we can't berate everyone who likes the game because some people don't. We can't "white-Knight" every person who gives negative feedback to Bungie. We can't yell and scream and force toxicity down the throats of everyone who goes to the forums. We NEED to find the middle ground.
Edit: Obligatory "Were Trending". But seriously, there has been a lot of great points being made down below. First off, I am not defending Bungie's actions or lack of response during this heated time. I too, have many gripes with D2. For one, I consider myself a hardcore player. Look me up, I spent thousands of hours on D1, I was ranked #36 in the world for Zone control, I help top 100, 300 and 500 spots in 6's.
I care too much about where this game is going. D2 was obviously crafted with the casual player in mind and while that is awesome because it opens up the game for everyone but they need to also focus on the hardcore player base.
D2 rewards you for everything. Even if you do not hit 7 wins, you can still get the same Prosecutor that I got for getting 7 wins. It makes it so that anyone can get the same gear that others get. The issue here is that Bungie needs to expand the armory. We NEED hundreds of options to choose from.
* Strike specific gear
*Raid gear that impacts the raid
*Playlist specific gear
These 3 things could really help solve some of the discontent.
******WARNING - This next topic could trigger negativity - WARNING******
In D1... we had specific weapon Meta's. Certain weapons like Thorn, TLW, Red Death, GoM/Clever Dragon, Mida, Suros, etc all had their shining moments and pissed MANY people off.. but it also allowed great players to make highlight reel plays and made average players feel powerful.
We need this back. The difference is that there needs to be an obvious path to get those powerful weapons so that people aren't excluded. To that point though.. Endgame activities need to be challenging and REWARD powerful gear.
If I complete Prestige mode raid then that damn Conspirator that I get better be more powerful than the one I get from normal mode. Yes, people will be excluded because Prestige mode is difficult but once they level up and essentially "Git Gud" , they can have that weapon too.
Edit: Damn Bungie. Way to go CB and the live team. They literally just addressed majority of the core concerns.

1 AntwortenRemember the toxic year 3 pvp posts. Nerf Shotguns, Buff autos! They did this and.....WHY exclaimed the community

2 AntwortenGet this guy a beer, or 8 beers.

Lol, thank you!

16 AntwortenThis is exactly why Bungie isn’t active or forthcoming on these forums. No matter what they say or do people will complain and take whatever they say out of context and use it as ammunition against them. And tbh I think Bungie purposely made the game more for casual players than Hardcore players because all HC players do is complain no matter what improvements they make. There is no more special snowflakes with gear to exclude others from activities. No longer are you FORCED into those activities just to reach max level.
-
I'm so with you on this...here everyone cries that destiny was so much better, yet they all complained like whining little children when the game dropped. And they still whine, like they're going to get there way. How about you guys who complain, uninstall the game, and go somewhere else? No one cares how you feel about the game. I personally think D2 is still lit, and fun as hell! Everything is awesome! End of my rant lol

That's what happens when you market a game for everyone. No-one actually knows what their getting and only a small % of the player base is actually happy with how it is. It's good, these widely marketed games need to stop they are just jacks of all trades games.
-
This community is always bitching so what’s new.
-
No, the rewards arent a real problem. Everything else however, is.
-
The babies will never be satisfied so hopefully Bungie ignores them all.
-
Everyone conveniently forgets the state Destiny 1 was in when it was first released. It wasn't until multiple DLCs and SEVERAL updates that the game began to "flow" better in many ways.
-
5 AntwortenPeople always forget what they don't like. It's human nature to only remember good things about the past. That's why every time a balance patch comes out, people complain that the meta is worse than it was before. I suggest you just ignore the people saying Destiny 1 was better. They've let their minds trick them into believing that everything is constantly getting worse. There's no point in listening to them since they will never be happy no matter how good the game actually is.

1 AntwortenThis community is always complaining, this has been the case since day 1. That's why I cannot take much of all this toxic bullshit seriously.

3 Antworten
I can't go flawless because it's to hard.
For me it was to hard. I never made to the blamming lighthouse and I probably never will make it to whatever the trials of the nine has.

Which forums were you on? I didn’t see that much about things being too hard, just things about nerfs
-
I remember. I remember the gally, vex, fatebringer, Voc, heavy ammo boots, snipers as secondaries that hrlp 24 bullets, oh the good days, pushing tempar off, loot cave....shall i go on?
-
Nope... there was other things to read about in the forums back then. It wasnt all hate and people hating on people hating. Sure there were people complaining, but it was not like this and never has been.
-
I think the original and the sequel both have done things that are good, the first appealed to a more hardcore audience, the second more casual. I understand why but weighing to far in either direction causes what you have now, I remember D1 being a nightmare for loot also but atleast it was more interesting. Wether PvP balancing caused some of the issues is still up for debate. Is D2 a bad game..I don't believe so and enjoyed the first few weeks of leveling and doing the raid, but there isn't a anything to chase or that special gun, removing armour perks and random perks on guns, plus limited classes, playlists and a number of other things has watered the game down a little too much. I don't think bungie deserves a lot of the nonsense on the forums but that doesnt stop me thinking content will come back as paid dlc. Bungie want us playing other games it's been said and I shall do until more content arrives.
-
You can't take repeat ideas on the forum and think that that what "everybody" said. The ones who liked the grind didn't complain. But they might be the ones saying it's too easy.
-
Yeah, I remember all those posts complaining about: Being able to select any story mission at different difficulties. Being able to select a specific strike and the difficulty. Having the option to choose the crucible game-mode. Having the option of free for all, 3v3 and 6v6. Actually, I don’t recall anyone asking for those things to be taken away... Those are just some of the things we had in Vanilla destiny that have been removed. Yeah this game sucks.
-
I remember getting mats and blues from legendaries. I also remember getting random rolled loot drops. The exotic quests were pretty cool and challenging. The thing that simultaneously made d1 great and crap was the random rolled loot. If you got the piece you wanted it was awesome, if you didn't then it was crap and you(I did anyway) kept trying because you still had a chance for it to happen next time. In d2 there is little incentive. I don't feel compelled to play because, no matter what, the guns/gear will all be the same. I think players want feel like the next drop could be "the one" they have been waiting for. That's the big difference between d1 and d2 to me.
-
Yeah but do you remember when basically everybody was still playing destiny 1 after it was out for a month because I do. Destiny 2 has been out for a month and a half and not even 1 million people logged in before bungie removed the destiny tracker yesterday. That's the real difference in between D1 and D2.

Bungie was already in a hole with D1 and this made it much deeper.

I was a successful D1 player I would say. Completed all the raids multiple times. Got to level 30 from VOG before Crota dropped. Went flawless multiple times and helped carry over 50 people. It was fun because it was challenging. I wanted to play. I wanted to collect grimore. The grimore was part of the collection game that D2 is so called supposed to be, but people did it because everything else in the game was fun and challenging. They did it out of enjoyment for the game rather than being forced to do it.
-
No people remember exactly how bad D1 was, what they cannot believe however in spite of knowing what they did the first time they managed to make it better and much worse than D1 all at the same time!
