Edit: I get it. No one adds an edit before the post but god damn, Bungie just covered most of the sore topics left in D2.
New systems and rewards to give our most engaged players additional, optional pursuits.
Better incentives for players who complete challenging Prestige activities.
Better rewards and replay value for strikes, adventures, and Lost Sectors.
Private matches for the competitive community (we are targeting early 2018).
Crucible tuning like adjusted Supremacy scoring and better spawning rules.
Better incentives for completing Crucible matches (and penalties for quitting competitive games).
Continued improvements to Iron Banner and Faction Rallies, including uniqueness of rewards.
Changes to make the mod economy more interesting and impactful.
Ongoing improvements to Exotics, including adjustments to reduce instances of duplication.
New ways to spend surplus currency and materials (looking at you Legendary Shards).
An emote interface that allows players to equip Salty, Spicy Ramen, Six Shooter, and Flip Out all at the same time.
I wonder how many people will find a way to spin this negatively despite this being a clear example of the Devs listening.
Seriously.
Everyone ranting and raving about D1 being so much better.
What I remember is the masses complaining that getting top gear and weapons was to hard.
I can't get thorn because of the quest. I can't go flawless because it's to hard. I can't beat challenge or hard mode because it's too hard.
Etc.
Remember when D1 at launch was the biggest let down because you played 80% during the beta and Bungie had to rewrite the story? Remember when getting loot sucked because your legendary engrams turned blue?
Yet... D2 is worse because it's too rewarding?
In all reality.. we can't berate everyone who likes the game because some people don't. We can't "white-Knight" every person who gives negative feedback to Bungie. We can't yell and scream and force toxicity down the throats of everyone who goes to the forums. We NEED to find the middle ground.
Edit: Obligatory "Were Trending". But seriously, there has been a lot of great points being made down below. First off, I am not defending Bungie's actions or lack of response during this heated time. I too, have many gripes with D2. For one, I consider myself a hardcore player. Look me up, I spent thousands of hours on D1, I was ranked #36 in the world for Zone control, I help top 100, 300 and 500 spots in 6's.
I care too much about where this game is going. D2 was obviously crafted with the casual player in mind and while that is awesome because it opens up the game for everyone but they need to also focus on the hardcore player base.
D2 rewards you for everything. Even if you do not hit 7 wins, you can still get the same Prosecutor that I got for getting 7 wins. It makes it so that anyone can get the same gear that others get. The issue here is that Bungie needs to expand the armory. We NEED hundreds of options to choose from.
* Strike specific gear
*Raid gear that impacts the raid
*Playlist specific gear
These 3 things could really help solve some of the discontent.
******WARNING - This next topic could trigger negativity - WARNING******
In D1... we had specific weapon Meta's. Certain weapons like Thorn, TLW, Red Death, GoM/Clever Dragon, Mida, Suros, etc all had their shining moments and pissed MANY people off.. but it also allowed great players to make highlight reel plays and made average players feel powerful.
We need this back. The difference is that there needs to be an obvious path to get those powerful weapons so that people aren't excluded. To that point though.. Endgame activities need to be challenging and REWARD powerful gear.
If I complete Prestige mode raid then that damn Conspirator that I get better be more powerful than the one I get from normal mode. Yes, people will be excluded because Prestige mode is difficult but once they level up and essentially "Git Gud" , they can have that weapon too.
Edit: Damn Bungie. Way to go CB and the live team. They literally just addressed majority of the core concerns.

Sometimes giving everyone what they want isn't the best thing to do.
-
Agreed with everything said up until the end Specific weapon metas are the bane of my existence They need to dial down high cal rounds and the game is perfect Leave it alone

My only complaint is the end game the strikes are boring and the NF timer is just stupid. Overall I like the game and know that’s it’s going to get better it’s just going to take a few months. Well unless the first dlc is complete garbage then we got real issues.

2 AntwortenBearbeitet von SolarCerberuS: 10/26/2017 4:17:57 AMPeople were expecting a D1 expansion and instead they got a stripped bare sequel is all. D2 is fun theres just not enough of it compared to the end of D1 (shouldnt have been expected realistically) No variance with static rolled gear so there is little replayability for many. And lack lustre rewards for live events, strikes, crucible and the raid They also made it way too easy to level light should have only been possible to maybe climb 20 to 40 per week but they wanted to rush the raid release so instead of vanilla lasting up to 3 months it only lasted 3 weeks (less for some) While there are still players enjoying it and still leveling (myself included) for many it is stale and lacking content already.

This doesnt sound like bff talk. Pull yourself together, guardian.

14 AntwortenBearbeitet von Swiftlock: 10/25/2017 3:49:12 AMD2 has no strike exclusive gear. (D1 does.) D2 has no exclusive, meaningful gear with special perks for going Flawless/beating the high difficulty raid. (D1 does.) D2 has no permanent Dead Orbit/FWC/NM vendors that actually sell you gear after you grind for them outside of a single victory weapon. (D1 does.) D2's Iron Banner loot is at the mercy of an awful token system that wants to give you 6 copies of the same item. It doesn't have a vendor where you are at least guaranteed some things in addition to RNG loot. (D1 did.) D2's armor/guns are cookie-cutter items that you only need to find once. The equipment has no variation or perk rolls that reduce the disappointment of finding the same models over and over. (D1 does.) I... really don't understand where you're getting "too rewarding" from. D2 is pretty underwhelming when it comes to making the player feel satisfyingly rewarded.

5 AntwortenThe problem with D2 is that the devs blatantly knew what we wanted and had gotten in Years 1-3 of Destiny, and implemented none of it. Hell, no changes from ROI were put in besides clans, and it's like Bungie never talked to the live team from D1 while developing D2.
-
No, I never forgot. Destiny 1 is arguably just as bad, if not worse than Destiny 2.

1 AntwortenHow bad is Destiny 2 that it makes Destiny 1 look so good?

Bearbeitet von TotalDramaGamer: 10/26/2017 3:30:56 AMWhy is D1 better than D2? It didn't have stupid tokens! I mean... a lot of other things but I abhor the token system. With more depth it could be useful but it's basically an blanket nerf to everything in the game.

2 AntwortenIn Y3 D1 was pretty good but both D1 and D2 are complete garbage in their first year.
-
3 AntwortenMy only complaint is that the Cabal failed to kill Rahool. I turned an exotic engram back in early D1 and that vile pitch of darkness gave me a green! DEATH TO RAHOOL!
-
8 AntwortenThe only people who complained about getting endgame gear in D1 were the casuals. Prove me wrong.

Hey, my fellow understander of supply and demand. Came back to this post sometime after upvoting and saw the extra info/details edited in. I may not be able to upvote twice, but here's an explanation for a *bump*, which will come shortly after this post to show further support. And since this is honestly just an extra bump in and of itself, I say *double bump*.

The endgame isn’t even endgame. All of the game rewards but some of it should reward more. ENDGAME should have top-tier rewards. Not every aspect just for logging in.

1 AntwortenBearbeitet von IceIllex: 10/25/2017 11:56:45 PMGetting legendaries now is like getting blues then. Since most of them are weaker than our current light and have no perks. Getting exotics now is like previously getting legendaries cause they all have more perks than the legendary equipment (which have 1 or no perks)
-
1 AntwortenI don't necessarily see people complaining about the act of getting rewards, but rather the rewards themselves. Playing games without rewards is fine. It's what games are, but when there are rewards tied to specific activities within the game I think it is generally expected that the rewards will balance out the effort required to obtain them.
-
The point is that the game shouldn’t just be barely better than vanilla. It should be on par with or better than y3 destiny. The fact that people were complaining about so much in vanilla is the very reason we shouldn’t be having the same problem now.

Bearbeitet von MightyJonE: 10/26/2017 1:45:32 AMOh yes, Destiny 1 year one was bloody awful. Finishing the short shallow non-story campaign at level 20 then hitting a brick wall. Players endlessly complaining about lack of content, lack of story, the arduous repetition, the extremely miserly RNG system, the stifling grind that resulted in the infamous loot cave....bungie even admitted some months later that they realised they'd made a mistake with such a restrictive RNG Irritated players could complete the Vault Of Glass raid dozens upon dozens upon dozens upon dozens of times and STILL not receive that one piece of raid gear they so desperately strived for. (And remember the Gjallerhorn?). And this permeated the entire game The forum was overfilled with complaints for an eternity about the awful grind and RNG. Eventually bungie pretty much fixed it in the second year and everyone sighed with relief

As satisfying as it is to make fun of these people we already got what we wanted dude We were unequivocally correct. We were 100% accurate about nerfs, about grinding for year 1 weapons About -blam!-ing eververse Everything. But it's not going to do you good laughing at these idiots, we got what we wanted. We were right
