Edit: I get it. No one adds an edit before the post but god damn, Bungie just covered most of the sore topics left in D2.
New systems and rewards to give our most engaged players additional, optional pursuits.
Better incentives for players who complete challenging Prestige activities.
Better rewards and replay value for strikes, adventures, and Lost Sectors.
Private matches for the competitive community (we are targeting early 2018).
Crucible tuning like adjusted Supremacy scoring and better spawning rules.
Better incentives for completing Crucible matches (and penalties for quitting competitive games).
Continued improvements to Iron Banner and Faction Rallies, including uniqueness of rewards.
Changes to make the mod economy more interesting and impactful.
Ongoing improvements to Exotics, including adjustments to reduce instances of duplication.
New ways to spend surplus currency and materials (looking at you Legendary Shards).
An emote interface that allows players to equip Salty, Spicy Ramen, Six Shooter, and Flip Out all at the same time.
I wonder how many people will find a way to spin this negatively despite this being a clear example of the Devs listening.
Seriously.
Everyone ranting and raving about D1 being so much better.
What I remember is the masses complaining that getting top gear and weapons was to hard.
I can't get thorn because of the quest. I can't go flawless because it's to hard. I can't beat challenge or hard mode because it's too hard.
Etc.
Remember when D1 at launch was the biggest let down because you played 80% during the beta and Bungie had to rewrite the story? Remember when getting loot sucked because your legendary engrams turned blue?
Yet... D2 is worse because it's too rewarding?
In all reality.. we can't berate everyone who likes the game because some people don't. We can't "white-Knight" every person who gives negative feedback to Bungie. We can't yell and scream and force toxicity down the throats of everyone who goes to the forums. We NEED to find the middle ground.
Edit: Obligatory "Were Trending". But seriously, there has been a lot of great points being made down below. First off, I am not defending Bungie's actions or lack of response during this heated time. I too, have many gripes with D2. For one, I consider myself a hardcore player. Look me up, I spent thousands of hours on D1, I was ranked #36 in the world for Zone control, I help top 100, 300 and 500 spots in 6's.
I care too much about where this game is going. D2 was obviously crafted with the casual player in mind and while that is awesome because it opens up the game for everyone but they need to also focus on the hardcore player base.
D2 rewards you for everything. Even if you do not hit 7 wins, you can still get the same Prosecutor that I got for getting 7 wins. It makes it so that anyone can get the same gear that others get. The issue here is that Bungie needs to expand the armory. We NEED hundreds of options to choose from.
* Strike specific gear
*Raid gear that impacts the raid
*Playlist specific gear
These 3 things could really help solve some of the discontent.
******WARNING - This next topic could trigger negativity - WARNING******
In D1... we had specific weapon Meta's. Certain weapons like Thorn, TLW, Red Death, GoM/Clever Dragon, Mida, Suros, etc all had their shining moments and pissed MANY people off.. but it also allowed great players to make highlight reel plays and made average players feel powerful.
We need this back. The difference is that there needs to be an obvious path to get those powerful weapons so that people aren't excluded. To that point though.. Endgame activities need to be challenging and REWARD powerful gear.
If I complete Prestige mode raid then that damn Conspirator that I get better be more powerful than the one I get from normal mode. Yes, people will be excluded because Prestige mode is difficult but once they level up and essentially "Git Gud" , they can have that weapon too.
Edit: Damn Bungie. Way to go CB and the live team. They literally just addressed majority of the core concerns.

Yeah, my only concerns are with PvP. I didn't see where they were going to change playlists, just private matching. Also, PvP feels slow in D2. Especially as a warlock. Team fire, which should be encouraged, is the entirety of D2 PvP which makes it rather boring. Exotic weapons also felt powerful. Ladt night I booted up D1 and ran a combined arms match using last word and a sniper. It was amazing. Until that is assessed my issues with the game remain.

10 AntwortenBearbeitet von TheShadow-cali: 10/26/2017 1:35:55 PMI think Bungie forgot what Incentive actually means or they just don't care anymore. Take your pick... Hands down D1 was a lot better because of the loot system that was actually rewarding. D2? a lot of what kept the interest for gamers to want to run the repetitive content has been removed. I can't see myself helping 300 gamers run the raid like I did in Y1 knowing there are no rewards at all worth spending that amount of time. I miss hearing gamers being actually excited that they got their first... Icebraker Ghorn Mythoclast Fatebringer black hammer And many other weapons and gear that worked across the entire board and that means both PvP and PvE. They were unique weapons that were really fun to use. D2, Tell me what hard mode weapons you get from the raid? Can anyone tell me how so many gamers are so happy to dismantle 98% of the exotics in D2? Can someone tell me how so many gamers are so happy that faction vendors are shut down for almost a month or who knows when they will open with no inventory? Can someone tell me how so many gamers are just so excited to run the nightfall? Can someone tell me how so many gamers are having fun running the raid or want to run it for that matter? All of them events gamers Wanted to run in D1 because of the actual incentive they had. Content means nothing in any game being a loot based system that doesn't have the incentive. D1 had that and had a lot less content and gamers think the content in D2 is the incentive? WoW! I wonder how games like Warframe would do if DE decided to just remove the loot system in a sequel.

Reskin changes to a game that should’ve had all these changes and a lot more day 1 of release. Don’t give them praise when they still cant admit they failed.... maybe the will give us another exotic from d1 can’t wait!
-
4 AntwortenBungie is like a magic genie; Bungie does what you ask, but never in the way you want.
-
You’ll learn with age that “Actions speak louder than words”....
-
Yeah, they say they are listening, but dont count the chickens before they hatch. This whole damn game was promoted to be epic and it isn't.
-
1 AntwortenNothing that makes PVP not fun was not even mentioned much less addressed.
-
1 AntwortenYou are one of the few on the forums that makes sense. I agree with you completely even though I suck at pvp. I did however find that in d1 the best weapons were tucked away nicely in the lighthouse and only a few people could get there regularly. I’d like to see the raid weapons like VoG had at least come back, no good outside of the raid but extremely helpful in the raid. Crota weapons were useful everywhere. Thank you for this post to let people know that there are smart folks posting

1 AntwortenI have cheese in my fridge.

The Forum didn't forget... you just hearing the complaints on the side of the fence that you reside on. The previous complainers were the people that didn't want to work that hard to "Git Gud". Now they are in bungies spotlight showing how great mediocrity is. Fortunately bungie thought that they outnumbered us. But they have been sadly mistaken.
-
1 AntwortenIt's called "imagination".
-
2 AntwortenThey didn't address anything. They gave you vague and noncommittal promises of things they're "working on" for sometime possibly in the "future" and you fell for it. Good job, you fell for it. Again.
-
3 AntwortenI'll be complaining until Bungie gets rid of static rolls on Legendary weapons
-
2 AntwortenLots of us don't have issue with it "being too rewarding." We have issue with the fact that the actual rewards aren't worth doing whatever it takes to get them in the first place. Destiny 2 is "participation trophy: the game."
-
6 AntwortenWhat "spin" is needed. They are essentially saying they are going to fix almost everything that many have been complaining about that is worse in this game than D1. So, basically... they are proving our point, not your's. That's a long list of crap to have to fix after 6 weeks and it is exactly what the people you were harping on were saying was worse about D2. Now somehow you are the one that was right? Talk about spin.
-
8 AntwortenI'm happy with what they said, but they gave absolutely zero information on vault space and management which is what we really need for this new direction of being a collection game. That's my top priority as far as core game values go.
-
5 AntwortenYeah, they're adding in all the D1 features
-
1 AntwortenI didn't read your whole post but no one is really complaining D2 is to rewarding. Atleast I'm not. Rewarding doesn't = more imo. It's the quality that matters.
-
1 AntwortenTalk is cheap!!!!
-
2 AntwortenBungie hasn’t done poop!!!! These so called fixes that got your nipples hard should have been in game day 1 with a lot more. Stop giving Bungie credit for fixing a reskin, how sad are the fanboys.....
-
5 AntwortenSure they addressed it...in a very vague list that lacked specific details and instead offered just general points. I'll wait to hear specifics on actual changes before I applaud.
-
1 AntwortenTotally agree. Let’s not forget these are the destiny forums. These are the people that for 2 weeks made “The Division will kill Destiny” posts.
-
1 AntwortenLooking forward to the update.
-
1 AntwortenThey need to add more achievments. There's 11.... no flawless raider or anything like that. Maybe even one for doing the entire campaign without a death... If you could replay the campaign that is.

1 Antwortenok smart fella, here is what i hated about D1 the most 1: sidearms 2: ability spam 3: lack of weapon balance 4: lack of class balance so lets see what i hate about D2 the most 1: nightstalkers (ability spam) 2: sidearms 3: lack of weapon balance 4: lack of class balance so ...... i get a less fun version of D1, at least in D 1 i could compete with the luck in the chamber hand cannons if i landed all of my shots in the burst from my parthian shot in this game you have some imporvements, auto rifles are fun, (not just uriels) yet pulse rifles are bad, hand cannons are bad, and we have JUST as much if not more ability spam
-
11 AntwortenGood post. Totally agree. I’m so tired of coming to these forums to see useful info or interesting discussion and seeing nothing but people bragging about how bad the game is and how much Bungie and destiny 2 are failing. I have issues with d2, but I love the game. It is way better at this point than D1 was at the same point. And I have faith that Bungie will address the issues that ACTUALLY matter in some way or another. Just look at the quantum leap between D1 vanilla and ttk. Bungie knows how people play this game. They are learning what works and what doesn’t.
