Despite our earlier disagreement, I'm inclined to agree with you on all points in this topic. Considering Bungie's budget on this game, along with the amount of time put into "making Destiny 2" while recycling so much of the textures and character/item models from D1, this feels like a max profit for minimal effort scenario. I took a 3d animation and a 3d modelling class in school and the transition from D1 to D2 I can say from experience would not have been overly tedious. I know the max profit minimal effort model is good for business and that Bungie is a business, but a good game doesn't come through this model. It takes passion to make a game good, and it feels like Bungie has thrown all their passion out the window in wake of maximizing profits.
I've always considered myself to be a hardcore casual. I'm not very big on pvp or raiding (work schedule often makes it difficult to find raid groups). I could grind strikes in D1 for hours on end and still have fun despite not getting the god roll weapon I was looking for (curse you Imago Loop). Many of the friends I've made through Destiny have been from farming strikes together or doing the weekly raids. All that went away with the removal of strike specifics, weapon rolls, and the new matchmaking system that forces you to find new players after every strike. Not to mention the fact that strikes give less loot than public events and one can usually run three or more public events in the time it takes to do a strike.
I hit that point earlier when I was farming on my Hunter, trying to get the Celestial Nighthawk, and after a dozen or more Raiden Fluxes it hit me. Even if I did get my Nighthawk, what would I grind for then? I have pretty much every weapon in the vault or distributed between my characters. I have almost every set of warlock armor minus the raid set which, frankly, I'm just not interested in with static rolls in place and the issues occurring with raid drops. Don't have room to collect titan or hunter armor sets. My hunter's armor sets all have almost exactly the same stats because apparently, hunters don't need regeneration. My titan is geared up minus mods and after probably a few thousand mod rolls I still don't have the mods I need for him because RNG.
If I'm not going to get any loot out of the game, and the crappy matchmaking system is going to prevent me from playing with anyone long enough to make friends, then why should I play?

Hey man thanks for the kind words. The other argument was about mathematics operations. No hard feelings. Thanks for your contribution on this post. Good luck out there.

Likewise, and I hope you do get the job. It would be nice to see someone as obviously passionate about their games as you in a position to make them. That's one of the biggest things I miss about Bungie.
